Straight back style putting putters

Im shopping for puttters as well. For you guys that have a straight putting style, whats your go to? Looking to narrow things down. Hoping the Ping Sigma G was it. But it wasnt. Tommy Armout 3 leads the pack along with one of the O-works. No Evnroll in my area, so zi will have to make an hour trek to test. Really need more stabikity inside of 5-10 feet.

I fall in the 'straight' path category and I've found success with high MOI mallets (TM Spider, Odyssey 7, Ping Ketsch) and a few blades with double bend shafts (Evnroll ER2, Odyssey 1W).

If you're looking for stability, I would look more towards face-balanced mallets. Essentially mallets that have a single or double bend shaft or a center shaft. If you see a mallet with a plumber or L-neck, then it will be more of a slight arc with decent toe hang. Anything with a shorter flow or slant neck will be in the strong arc category.

Do your research on this site for blade and mallet most wanted and then do yourself a favor and go test them out BEFORE you buy. Otherwise, you're playing the lottery and chances are you didn't win.

Odyssey O works Black 2M CS.  The CS means center shaft.  It is very very good.  I also found several face balanced putters in Ping line up to be good.  The weird thing is that the putters that look monstrous structure with all that stuff protruding back, well, it really does work fr a straight stroke.  I ended up finding a nearly new Scotty Cameron Futura X.  With the round weights on a x frame.  Deadlier accuracy the longer the putt!  I putt cross handed, and don't look at the ball.  I look at the hole.  It took a while of practice if u want to try the switch.

Cleveland also makes center shaft putters.

Or try finding a Wilson Vizor level 2 spider type center shaft.

Start by testing some face balanced mallets at your local brick and mortar. If you can't make up your mind, a Ping C67 can be had for crazy cheap on Ebay. A center shafted semi mallet, this jewel works wonders with a sbst stroke. It puts 'em where you point it.

I like it on the firmer side. I feel when its on the softer side, it feels as though the ball launches off the face.

Then I would recommend, MLA, Bettinardi BB56, and Odeyssey EXO series. These are all firmer faces and mostly milled. Milled are generally firmer. Avoid inserts for a firm putter. Thinner grips will make it feel firmer too.

Ping Ketsch mid is a great putter and it has the tech most like an envnroll. Go for the cadence line though. Sigma G line is not as aggressive according to MGS. But they still placed in top 5 this year. I had the TA#3 and went back to the ketsch. I don't hit the center enough to not game a Ping with TR tech or the sweet face of envroll.

Forgot to mention that these would probably feel softer to you. You gotta try them to find out though. What those putters do is make the ball speed the same across the face so naturally you gotta hit those a bit harder on center strikes. The tech works though.

I love my Cleveland HB #11. I know Cleveland gets left out often because they're not a putter focused company or have a putter division like titleist or Callaway. And because of the $100 price point, they somehow become less relevant but they're one of the best bargains in golf.. Imo. There's m $.2

I recently bought a Cleveland 2135 TFI satin elevado putter and it's very similar to the HB #11. I absolutely love the putter. The alignment is very easy with this putter and the feel is superb. Also have a Cleveland smart square putter that is a great putter as well. Can't go wrong with either one in my opinion.

I also bought the Cleveland 2135 TFI Elevado putter. Really liking this mallet. Soft feel.

My wife has the Tommy Armour #3, and it's a great little putter too.

I played around with some Clevelands back in the spring that I really loved the feel of.  Last night I picked up a mini Spider in excellent shape for $70 from the club pro.  Gamed it and putted well. TOns better then anything else I won.   I figure I will game this until I can make the trek north to GG to test others.
