Bethpage reopening?

Hi!

someone here knows when Bethpage will reopen?

the website still says May 15th but apparently municipal courses in NY are now allowed to open again with (of course rightfully) social distancing.

I am just recovering from Covid and will have this week a test to confirm i am not positive anymore and playing Bethpage would be the best way to celebrate it!

maybe even with some fellow spy hehe

No idea, however I will say we had planned a trip there for this summer and it was canceled on their end.  I hope they reopen soon, I would still like to play there this summer.  It is my favorite course!!!  If you hear something let us know!

NY has only allowed private clubs to open for the time being. Unless the governor changes his plan may 15th is still the date public courses will open from what I’ve heard from family/friends in NY

Actually not.
Eisenower is already open as of today including the driving range.
The golf courses are now allowed to be open, Middle bay is open as well so few others.
I guess some has to do maintenance before reopening cause fairways became fescues ahahahhaha

Exactly. Rochester’s public’s have been open since Saturday. I played on Sunday as a single.

Yeah if the park is closed that would include the courses. I was talking to a friend of mine several weeks back about how closing courses would be affecting bethpage. Iirc that was the initial one day closure of courses and how doing that would upset a bunch of New Yorkers and then all courses were open. I still don’t understand cuomo’s decision to close the courses this last time as the hardest hit area was on the downside of the peak

Bethpage reopen next week on monday.
Tee times are every 16 minutes.
The Black will reopen on may 1st.
I already booked the green for tuesday and the red for wednesday lol
Will try to get the black ASAP.

Slightly off topic. I lived on Long Island for 35 years and Bethpage was my go to. I used to play the Black for $22.00 and no one wanted to play it because they had to walk and it was to hard. Then the US Open ruined that. Ok the course conditions are better! Last time I was back in town they hit me for $140.00.  Now it's up to $150 on weekends.

Hey Tom!

i guess that costs so much because you have not anymore the NY residency. 
to us it costs 65...

and at that price is impossible to find a better course in USA and almost worldwide, 140 is still ok if you think that good courses in Ireland cost 300+ and in US even more...

Got my email today, they are opening!!!  The part the sucks for me is I live in Delaware and can't get there.  I need to travel through Jersey and I am almost 100% certain I would get pulled over on my way with DE tags.  UGH.  Have fun guys!!!  Enjoy it and if you could, let us know how the Black is playing.  haha

I'm in Tennesse now, so getting up to play Bethpage is about an 11 hour drive. I can be in Myrtle Beach in 5-1/2 with 100 courses to choose from. Thats my typical get away trip these days. I do miss Bethpage though.
