After waiting and waiting for Payntr Golf, and getting very nice, very templated emails about how "it takes a long time to do the paperwork to ship to Canada" (it takes all of 3 minutes, I ship a lot of things to the US...) and how signing Jason Day has really been crazy for sales, I've finally got them to issue a refund for the shoes that weren't shipping.  Very disappointed in this company- was willing to give them a shot as the reviews are good and all, but under-delivering to your customers is not the way to be successful.  Sigh. I have received some ECCO Biom C4's (very nice, very comfortable!) and some Adidas Codechaos 22's (also extremely comfortable), and I'll be wearing them over the season to test and hopefully enjoy out on the course! Must say that I will never order Payntr shoes again.  Very disappointed in this experience. Many thanks to all those who responded here and/or in private, I really do appreciate this great community!!!

Good morning spies! I got the most bumping sound system going at the golf course yesterday, and today I’ll play my first round as a member. I will probably spend too much in the pro shop also making coffee with the new French press and grinder. Sun is shining and golf is waiting!

Oh in geology news - we actually had a bit of a tremblor yesterday .. 4.8 centered just West of here in NJ. A few hours later there was a smaller, briefer aftershock.

I'd spent time out in CA in the past and experienced a few shakers out there, but you just don't expect it in the Northeast, even though there are very small unnoticeable ones from time to time.

I was joking with my wife 'imagine if this happened on Monday upstate during the eclipse' .. as that's where the area of totality will be .. thinking about all the people who apply all sorts of mystical voodoo karmic attributions to otherwise normal events...

So maybe I'd better go out and hit some golf balls later before it's the end of the world

I suspect hat we are about the same distance from yesterday's earthquake as you are (we live 38 miles from the center in Readington or Whitehouse Station, NJ), and we felt the initial quake for about 45 seconds just before 10:30 yesterday morning, plus there were actually TWO aftershocks -- one in the afternoon and one at about 7:00 last night.  Before moving to our current house, we lived within 1.5 miles of Whitehouse Station, NJ, and my wife said that if we were still living in that old farmhouse in NJ, she's certain that there would be things falling off the walls.

Like you, I have been through a few California quakes, including being less than 50 miles from Northridge when the big one hit there in 1994.  This was nothing compared to that quake.

Looks like fun but pretty cold.   The sand on your beach is very coarse    Interesting seeing peoples terminology for things;   The beaches I go too all have sand so I am just completely puzzled when you say "beach"

@Jim Shaw ‘s beach sand looks a lot like what we use in our sand trap bunkers and paving driveway’s and the county’s  dirt roads.

Absolute classic Vancouver Island beach, not much sand there at all! Nice clear night on the coast. Funny @cnosil I’m just 4ish hours from Jim, and our beaches are sand sand sand but going from the Pacific Ocean to very large fresh water lakes

@sirchunksalot Glad to hear your sister is doing well in her recovery but so disheartening to hear that a so called medical professional/s blew her off when her options could have provided a less severe course of treatment. I have to commend you for your restraint as I doubt that I would have been so under control...

bring home the W @Josh Parker. After all, no excuses after garnering all the course secrets from @Javs...

It seems @Erin B just persists in sharing the Cheyenne winds as it is blowing 20-30 steady this morning with no sign of relief...

Keep the faith and persevere @Dead Solid Bogey, you'll be back with a vengeance when you get this issue behind you.

I just laughed at @Jim Shaw picture because it reminded me of a story my Sister in law told me.  When she was moving to Kansas the realtor mentioned  the "beach" which she found puzzling since Kansas is in the middle of the country.  The realtor then told her that it was the local water park.   It is all perspective and what you are used too.  To me the below is the "beach"

Morning all. Been struggling the last few days and have not felt great at all. Migraines and issues with my gut. Feeling better today but also back to work. Cold and cloudy for the next few days. Hopefully back on the course mid week and continue my gains! Have a fantastic day everyone!

Ella Beach, where we went last night is pretty rocky, about 2 drivers and a wedge to the east the rocks are much smaller and a bit of sand, Willows Beach is all sand, that is in Oak Bay, it is interesting for me as well, I am fairly new to Vancouver Island, and especially Victoria area and the diversity of beaches is crazy. In Port Renfrew, which is about 90 km north of Sooke, they have a beach called Botanical Beach, which has volcanic rock and lots of little pot holes that has an array of sea life in them, I haven't even scratched the surface of the beaches in the area, I think I may spend too much time on the golf course lol...

that is a beauty, Tofino, on the west coast of vancouver Island is like that and Parksville, where we are camping in August is like that...

Morning all! It’s a yard cleanup day. Next week is looking pretty nice going to be prime time planting. Hoping it warms up a little bit today but doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. 

Headed to a lacrosse game tomorrow afternoon with my son and brother. Will be a good time! Enjoy the weekend all!

Mark/Shark. I wish it had something to do with me swindling everyone out of money on the course but it’s not

Nieces and nephews call me uncle shark. Links up with the navy I suppose so it works. In turn has got me to purchase all different shark clothing’s and my putter cover.

Good morning! The stars aligned and I was able to get out and golf 9 holes this morning! I couple of friends that only golf 4-5 times a year messaged me and it all worked out great! I had time to make French toast for the kids before our tee time and everyone (even SWMBO) seemed happy! Hopefully the rest of the day is just as jolly!
