Good Monday Morning Spies! 

Warm Central Florida Morning, I did walk 9 holes this morning, teeing off at 7am.  Felt the need to walk after gorging yesterday evening on White Pizza for Father's Day!  LOL, had to walk off all the carbs from yesterday! But the pizza was good! 
Drinking espresso right now & a zero commute day.

Good Morning!  Hoping to channel some Bryson 18 hole bunker vibes this week.

Congrats to the winner of the US Open Mystery Prize from MGS HQ.  Will be curious to hear more about the prize!  A DeChambeau arm lock type putter would be the best mystery prize…  just saying…  not that I had any shot at the 1st place prize!

Interesting. He talked near the end about how the 18th fairway of the #1 course was covered with buildings. When I played #1 this spring they were just starting to do that; they were further along on the 1st fairway of #1, which I played as a short par 3 that day due to ongoing construction, but you could see that the 18th fairway was not going to be far behind. Eventually the #1 course became a 16-holer, and then was closed completely in late May, I believe. And they turned The Cradle into the practice area, which was not shown here.

One thing I'm a little confused about. I thought he was talking about using the 12th tee as the tee for 18. But the 12th hole is nowhere near 18. 12th hole of another course, maybe? I'll have to go back and watch it again.

EDIT: I got it backwards. They used the 18th tee of #4 course as the tee for the 12th hole in the Open. That makes more sense.

Goodmorning spies another weekend rolls through, felt way quicker than I wish it had but back to work we go. Hope all the fathers out there had a good Father’s Day and everyone enjoyed their weekends. It’s Monday morning kick this weeks butt no matter what you have going on or are going through!

Going to be a hot week with chance for storms. Definitely will be worse to the South and East of our area with high probability of flooding.

Will just have to take it as it comes and get some golf in when the opportunity presents itself.

This has to be one of the coolest videos of the week.  Post US Open, on the Golf Channel, Johnson Wagner was trying to recreate Bryson's winning bunker shot. Who better to make a cameo and help him out than the Bryson himself?  Very entertaining video.  Enjoy.

Good Morning All!! Had a great Father's day yesterday golfing at Kings Deer. I started off pretty well, then got out of my groove and ended strong with a par. Came home to BBQ and then relax the rest of the night. Woke up to some sun burns on areas I missed lol

I watched that live on Golf Channel. Very entertaining. And a heckuva shot, better than Bryson hit (although with a tiny fraction of the pressure).

Good morning spies! Temperatures are dropping some today for the Wild Bunch round. It is only supposed to get up to 106 today. 

@EasyPutter Congrats on the anniversary.

My wife crosses the big 70 today and we are celebrating it by me letting her have the house to herself today and playing golf. I will take her to Pandora then dinner later.

I looked up the #2 scorecard and course rating/slope. According to bluegolf.com, the Open setup is 77.9 rating/149 slope. Yikes! I have no desire to test the accuracy of that USGA webpage which says I should shoot a 103. For the first 15 holes, maybe...

But the real purpose of my search is to try to figure out which tees I would play. Blue tees are 75.4/143 and 6966 yards. Still nope. (By comparison, Royal Dornoch from the tips is 73.2/136 for par 70, and the Old Course from the non-Open tips is 73.4/136 for par 72).

A blue/white hybrid is 6659, 73.6/141. Getting closer, but nope.

White tees are 6324, 72.0/139.

White-green hybrid is 5979, 70.3/136.

Green tees are 5782, 69.1/135.

The tees I'm going to play at Dornoch, and also played last October in the hurricane, are 71.1/129, and about 6700 yards measured to the middle of the green, ignoring the fact that #9 was cut way down to a short par 4 thanks to a lagoon of seawater puddled in the middle of the fairway, so probably about 6500 in fact. I managed not to embarrass myself too greatly that day (shot 103 with a birdie even in those awful conditions). So I'm thinking if the weather is decent, play the white tees. Of course the Old Course as I played it was 71.4/129, and it completely kicked my butt, but I'd also had seven hours of sleep total in the preceding three nights.

Is that appeal or repeal?  I'm not going to say what I would be hoping for

Happy Monday!  I just returned home from an early round.  I teed off at 6:45 and was cruising along nicely when I made the turn and there is a gentleman playing hole 10 and is playing 2 or 3 balls.  After waiting on him for 2 holes, he waits at the #12 tee box and says he is going to let me play through.  I thank him but I am thinking he shouldn't have been inconsiderate by cutting in front of me.  As I am leaving the tee box he said he was letting me play through because he likes to take his time and play 2 or 3 balls.  At this point I can't resist and I ask him if he always starts on the back nine, which is supposed to be forbidden.  He replied no, but the gentleman in the Pro Shop said it would be okay.  Great....we have a moron working in the Pro Shop.

Morning everyone! I hope you all had a good weekend. I just had to grind through about 3 hours straight of work that had come through over the weekend and now I’m heading to the gym. What an incredible US Open we got the last week! Love seeing Bryson win, but Rory winning would’ve been nice as well. Bryson winning is probably best for growing the game though so I’m all for it!

I hope everyone had a great weekend and a good day so far. We are hunkering down in the AC like everyone else with this heat wave coming through. Looks like the hottest day just so happens to be the day my league is on, can’t wait!

It's always tough getting back into work mode after a weekend away. Wife and I had our anniversary on Friday and then with Father's day on Sunday, we took the kids and went out of town for the weekend. By the time we got back, we weren't really able to catch up on the usual weekend things, so I felt kind of behind starting from the morning. We had a fun weekend though so that was the most important thing. My FIL seems to be getting worse, but the whole process of getting a second biopsy is rather slow, so the most recent news we have is that a PET scan is scheduled for Thursday this week, and a referral to a second oncologist that is significantly closer to us, so we will see. He spent most of the weekend in bed from what we heard and hasn't been eating much, even foods he normally eats. 

With some recent happenings around, things are in a bit of chaos at work in general, but those things don't directly affect me as much as they do many of the other guys. So I'm in a bit of an uncomfortable spot for me personally because some of them are understandably worried, and I'm part of a different department and completely safe. It feels like a lot going on some days.

Afternoon spies!

Busy morning and didn't get a chance to post or read until now. Still have plates spinning so I will keep this short. Had a great Father's Day weekend starting with playing 18 w/ @ZoonORama on Saturday where I got to test the Vokey SM10s some more, a baseball game with the my wife and son yesterday, and then home in time to finish watching the Open and a movie with my boy.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Gotta get back to it, peace out!

Happy Monday everyone! I’m pretty new to the forum. I started golfing around 12 years ago, but then took ~7 years off when life got busy with kids and other stuff. Gotta say “thanks” to my buddy @GolfSpy_KFT for getting me back out there this year and introducing me to MGS.

I’ve never been fitted for clubs. When I first started, the TaylorMade RBZ Stage 2 had just come out so I bought a full set (driver, fairway, hybrids, and irons). They have served me well for the time that I used them. As I’m getting back into golf (and possibly thinking about upgrading my bag in the future) I would  definitely look at getting an actual fitting done to meet my needs as a golfer.
