Not sure why, but the current incarnation of the Whales have occasional throwback nights, including green Whaler unis and playing Brass Bonanza as the goal song. I don't think a lot of people are coming down from Hartford for those nights though.

Yeh I’ve been in Tenerife so not been on. I played another competition today and played really well this morning in the team event. Didn’t play as well this afternoon in the individual but still came 5th. We won the team event though so not sure if that gets you an upgrade to include some garlic bread

The course was in great shape as held their club championship at the weekend

Only downside to the day was that we had to miss holes 6,7,and 8 and his morning as one of the older members passed away on hole 7 while playing around 09:30

At least he went doing something he loved in gorgeous weather

i am at the course today, surprise surprise!! I came to work on my putting but my wife had 1/2 a bucket so I decided to hit a couple. Unfortunately I left my 7 wood at home but here is my 3 wood…

That is a beautiful course! Leaving this earth while on a nice course like that at an old age sounds like how I want to go!

Good Friday morning everyone!

It's been a strange week with the day off Wednesday. Most of the day yesterday I was thinking it was Monday and I was a bit confused about some things. 

@rkj427 I'm glad to hear your power finally came back on after so long, that sounded like a major ordeal. 

I had a good time on the community call last night, it's always fun being able to speak with y'all. 

I hope the last day before the weekend is a good one for all of you.

Good morning MGSpies from summer heat in the morning with plenty more for the rest of the day in WNY on this Friday in June and first full day of summer.  Yesterday was on the course as the moment of Summer Solstice passed at 4:51pm and the umbrella was up on the push cart for portable shade that helped manage the incoming thermonuclear radiation to something enjoyable

as Jim @The1C3man helped keep it as light with humor as the sun did with sunshine.  Had a few words with Rick @Purple-Eagle on the 6th when our shots, were within yards of each other where the 6th and 7th fairways are parallel with only a tree between them.  We enjoyed the community call until the cell signal was lost, I never know about that happening as we were in a good coverage area in South Buffalo.  Workday then into the weekend things that need doing, hope golf is a part of your day

Good morning Spies on a TGIF morning here in the Motor City area.

Another couple days of hot temperatures, and high humidity before some relief is headed our way on Sunday.

Finally had power restored late yesterday after they replaced 3 downed poles and straightened out 3 additional poles caused by high winds from a massive storm on Wednesday night.

The day wasn't a total loss, drove to Carl's Golfland with SWMBO, she visited with some people we know that work there, and I hit balls and demoed some of the new Callaway AI Smoke clubs.

Thanks to the Callaway double trade-in promotion, the MGS testing and reviews, and about an hour fitting process, I managed to come home with an AI Smoke Triple Diamond driver, Triple Diamond 3 wood, and a dozen Pro V1's for a total of $3.15 out of pocket.

Just a quick note, I also had a $100.00 gift card from Carl's that was applied as well.

The fitting results were much different than I originally thought they would be, but the results were absolutely startling, and make sense knowing the head/shaft combinations that had the best dispersion, distance, and ease of swinging.

Today is final preparations for a family function/event I am hosting on Sunday, so if all works out, I may get some range time in later, if not, next round is on Monday.

Good morning spies and happy Friday! Short day of work today which I am very much looking forward to as it’s been a busy week. Was hoping to play 9 with my old neighbor at 1:20, but there’s rain forecasted throughout the day so I think it’ll have to wait till next week. If it clears off, my wife is done at 3:30 today and I’d love to get out with her so she can try her new driver and hybrid, but we would need my dad to stay later to watch the kids and he’s had a long week too. Really need to find a babysitter around here lol. 

May work on a bathroom painting project this weekend if my wife decides what color paint she wants, and I am golfing next Wednesday with my two former basketball players and an assistant coach to make up for the rain out this week. 

Sunday looks like a beautiful day, so hope to make golf part of it!

Good morning on the second longest day of the year, Spies (yesterday was the solstice)! Back in the Philly site, which we have to vacate tonight and move into a bar (literally) next door because they double booked a baby shower tomorrow. They're sending a security officer today to keep the street people from engulfing us again. Now the question is will people with actual appointments venture here? The answer yesterday was no. I'm not expecting much different today. Yes, choosing this site was a very bad idea. Way up the corporate ladder from me, but a bad idea nonetheless.

Golf: Not much. Planning to get in a Fit For Golf workout this evening, assuming we survive today.

Mostly was just trying to check my driver face yesterday so I taped a tee to the front of it cause... well its impossible to tell where its pointing.  So while practicing a bit of a reset, it seems my ball position has started creeping way too far forward.  Anyone else tend to do this too?  Flat out laid my damn driver head inside my foot and my god it makes it look to me like its damn near midline for me (and its not).

Guess that shows how off my setup had started to get.  Good news as it means ill probably just need to weaken my trail hand (it tends to creep strong) and not both my lead AND trail hand like I did last round just to get the hooks gone (it felt like weakening both hands cost me some swing speed with doing both).

Good morning spies!

We've reached Friday after a strange week with Wednesday off. Luckily it's been pretty easy work-wise and today should be the same. No real plans on the agenda today, besides watching more of the Travelers and KPMG Women's PGA Champ. As many of us probably expected, both Scottie and Nelly are back in top form after lackluster performances in recent majors.

Preparing for our Sunday departure to Arcadia Bluffs on Sunday to play the Bluffs Course Sunday afternoon and then the South Course on Monday. Keeping our fingers crossed for nice weather as it's supposed to rain a lot there tomorrow. Hoping to get to the range sometime tomorrow for a final tune-up. Been feeling pretty good about my game lately, but more practice is always helpful.

Today I am meeting my biological dad. Kind of nervous kind of excited.  Kind of a lot of different emotions. No golf today then. Tomorrow we will be going to the St. Louis Cardinals game. So that’s going to really fun. Hope everyone has a great day.

Happy TGIF all!!

Another bright, sunny and soon to be oh so hot out day here. Nothing special on the agenda .. but prob not too much yard work, right? Hey the weeds and vines don't wanna be bothered .. they're happy overgrowing where they are...

Maybe work on some indoor putting. Recently started trying a claw grip - which does seem to help me keep the face square to my line but .. big BUT .. otoh I feel like I've totally lost my sense of distance control.....

So now I'm thinking standard grip on the first putt and claw grip on the next. Which will probably screw *everything* up....

Probably just some more time practicing will get your distance control back in line, especially as you get more comfortable with the change.

Hoping that whatever you decide Chuck, it all works out for the best.

Good Friday morning all! Work this afternoon, but need to get everything packed up as I am head to the cape this weekend for some golf! A last minute invite that I will be taking full advantage of. 4 rounds over 3 days is going to be exhausting but I cannot wait it could not have come at a better time. May not instructor advice.   You were using that right hand to give your stroke extra power to get more distance the claw kind of takes the right hand out of the stroke,   Make a bigger stroke and maintain the rhythm.  Your mind instinctually knows how big of a stroke to make.

No big plans on the docket for today with some continued renovations going on in the house. Family to visit this weekend.

Let myself get unnecessarily a bit disappointed yesterday after just the first hole .. a nice solid opening tee shot down the middle, a pretty good 8i to the middle front of the green .. FOUR putt

Good Friday Morning Spies! 

A little cloudy 74 degree morning, but will be getting hot today in Central Florida. No golf today, finishing first cup of espresso. Ranger duties today. Friday afternoon are usually busy, so may not get to hit balls at range.
