Good morning spies,

No golf for me today, going to get the forms for my passport renewal and finally start to get ready for my delayed trip to Mexico. Still excited to go since I have not been back to Puebla in over 20 years. I have been told how much it has changed since then (being 13 the last time, all I wanted to do was call my friends back here in the states and would have to wait to be taken into town to use a phone card to call them). Yes, it's been that long. 

Edit: I also got very sick from the water at a local water park there in Mexico and spent two weeks out of the trip throwing up and staying home.

That's what I thought, but when my phone was stolen out of my car in St. Andrews last October outside the Eden Clubhouse, I went in the clubhouse two days later to ask them to review security video and see if they could see the theft as it happened. They said, yes they have video, no it didn't cover the entire parking lot, yes they would have it reviewed. Never heard a thing so I guess I was in the unmonitored portion of the lot. Or they didn't want to go through four hours of video while I played the Eden Course.

Managed to get 13 holes completed this morning before running into the 60+ juniors who got rained out yesterday.  My course has 4 tee boxes: Blue (back), White, Gold, and Red (forward).  Played a 9-hole match off Gold with one of my usual playing buddies.  First swing was a hard pull straight left into the river and triple bogey to start.  Managed to get back on track and won 5-3.  My buddy left so I played the next few holes from the Whites which I often do when playing alone.

Round highlights:  (1) hit a Par 5 in two (missed the Eagle but made the birdie for 2 skins); (2)  70+% FIR overall (including 2/4 with driver); (3) longest drive to date while testing the Terra Forza shaft (247 yards which a good poke for).

Also found out that my team finished 2nd in Michigan PGA Pro Am we played on Monday.  Format was 3/4 scores count on Par 3s, 2/4 on Par 4s, and 1/4 on Par 5s.  As the high handicapper in the group I got to help out quite a bit including a net Eagle on one of the Par 5s.

And, finally, my pro gave me a sleeve of Srixon Z-Star balls.  He warned that they spin like crazy.  Played one of them today even though they aren’t exactly suited to my game.  He is right about the spin, especially near the green.  Just like the Pro V1x I used on Monday, this thing checked like crazy off my 58° wedge even in the wet conditions this morning.  Also gave me that long drive and the Par 5 in two.  Golf balls confuse me.

Had to get dressed up to go to court for work this morning (just as a gallery member, we aren't defendants in the case, but have a vested interest in it), but the hearing ended up being less than an hour so I'm back at the office now.

It's a slightly wet morning here as we finally got a little rain. It's been a pretty dry summer here so far which has helped with the humidity, but has made everything else crispy. 

I'm looking forward to the community call tonight with the creators of Vice Golf irons, it should be a good one talking about what might be one of the more intriguing tests of the year. 

I'm getting excited about Vortex test, I hope a bunch of you will get involved and follow along. 

I'm ready for my shutdown and hopefully a couple of rounds during my time off.

Morning all! In the final stages of packing ahead of our move into our first house this weekend. My wife is currently dreaming about all the random decorating she's going to be able to do, and I'm trying to figure out how big of a green I can make in the backyard without risking divorce. I think I can go a decent amount larger than my currently beautifully mocked up plan, but apparently not everyone agrees with me

Good morning Spies on Community Call Thursday from here in the Motor City area.

@Fongle congratulations on your first house, best of luck with the move, and all your planned decorations and improvements moving forward. 

First round of the Rocket Mortgage Classis here in the Detroit area today, and the weather here should be good for this tournament all except for some potential rain and storms on Saturday.

Temperatures expected to be in the 70's, so there will be no high heat for the players to deal with.

Looking forward to the call with Vice later today, as their irons seemed to have generated a lot of interest from golfers.

Hope your day is the best it can be, and that something fun and enjoyable is in your plans.

Good morning spies. Yesterday afternoon was a gorgeous 85° and sunshine which allowed me to walk a beautiful 18 holes after work. Today should be 80° and sunny so I’m hoping for a repeat experience this afternoon.

First cup of coffee is down, and ritual sausage biscuits are in process while getting ready for the weekly battle of the Seniors. Definitely going to be a hot one. Little after 5am and already sitting at 83* and 80% humidity...

Good morning everyone. No more loops this week and my body is so glad for a break. Tee time in an hour and a half with my son and a friend. Good morning Spies!

My wife and I had a great night as one of our favorite restaurants in the area was doing a tasting menu with a wine pairing. Delicious food, great wine, and a good way to relax after work.

Should be able to join the Community Call this afternoon. Excited to hear more about the Vice Irons and how their development came to be. Speaking of irons, I read the Best Player's Irons 2024 article yesterday and was shocked by the RAM Axial Forged making waves for only $499!

Simulator booked after work to get some reps in before this weekend. Irons will be newly regripped, so I'll be interested to see how they feel. Swing has been feeling great lately, so hopefully can continue that consistency. Otherwise, I'll be tuning into the Rocket Mortgage Classic throughout the day to distract myself from work.

Good morning all and happy community call Thursday. Super busy day ahead of me so wanted to get on here early for my daily GM post. Played Wild Rock GC in Wisconsin Dells yesterday afternoon/evening and it was just a beautiful day. First time playing the course and it was fantastic. Never really understood the hype it got until now, easily the most beautiful course I’ve played. Dramatic elevation changes, tons of memorable holes, it was awesome. My play was not the best, I shot a gross 101, net 82. The whites there play longer than the tips at my home course and I hit some great shots along with not so great ones. Will recap a bit more in the How’d You Play thread, but here’s some photos to highlight some of the views.
