@Shankster Lucky!!! @William P Lucky #2!!! My best base was Vandenberg AFB. I worked a mile away from the ocean so I guess I was lucky too. Not Hawaii lucky, but lucky just the same.

Thanks @Preeway! I really enjoy the 6:45am to 7am tee times.  We are usually the first or 2nd group off.  The course is beautiful in the mornings. The sun coming up, the dew on the ground, the smell of fresh-cut grass, make for a great walk.  Not to mention the exercise! 

This morning was odd, while driving thru the entrance gate of the course, a duck flew by and landed in the grass median. Suddenly out of the corner of my eye, I see something, another duck comes flying from across the road, almost flies through my open driver's side window, and quacks into the top of my roof & windshield. Good thing I "ducked" (LOL, I couldn't resist) the duck bounced off the top of the windshield still flapping its wings, and landed right next to the first duck in the median, then both waddled off. 
It's like what the heck! LOL

Great assignment location. Army brat here, born at Presidio of San Francisco and raised for the most part at Ft Ord on the Monterey Peninsula. When not in California it was either Germany or Texas. Bit of a nomadic lifestyle growing up but wouldn't trade it.

I was stationed at Letterman Army Medical Center. My barracks is now the Disney Museum on the Presidio. The Letterman property is a Lucas Film office. I went to the NCO Academy at Ft. Ord.

Small world! Last time I visited the Presideo was back in the early 90's. The hospital was slowly closing down, and majority of the barracks had been turned into museums for the Army and City of San Francisco but no Disney at that time that I recall. It was still a beautiful area to visit with a great deal of history on display.

It's kind of funny that when I entered the service, I went to Ft Polk for basic and then stationed many places but never back to Ft. Ord... No Cobras.

Actually 32degrees (legit company, found through MGS) is having a flash sale - today, Tues - polos for $7.99

I have a few of their polos and shorts.  The shorts, in my opinion, are the real winners.  The polos are surprisingly okay for the price - good fit, and the texture is a bit of a mix between jersey and a typical polo, but they really do keep you cool and (imho) are very worth the $8 sale-price.

I got out in 87. I last visited there in 2015 when my wife did the Alcatraz swim. My sister had here wedding reception at the Presidio Officers Club. My dad was a CW3 in the California National Guard.

I would love to make another trip out West to go see what changes have taken place since I was last there. Both the Presidio and old Ft Ord/Monterey areas.

It was only a yard load that came out of that truck; didn’t look like much, and my wife said “Maybe we should have gotten 2 yards.”  If we had, the other yard would still be in the driveway!!  Now I have at least 3 yards of 5/8-chip to put behind that fence in the pic… maybe after I recover next week!!

Ft Ord was split up. Part of it is Cal State University Monterey Bay and the Ft. Ord National Monument.

Morning Spies! The unpacking continues to be very slow at the new place, with a funeral and a wedding in the last week to slow things down, but I have managed to (mostly) get my office set up. I mean, sure, the pantry stuff isn't fully unpacked yet, I don't know where my good work shoes are, and I can't find the charger for the vacuum, but I've managed most of the essentials

Good morning MGSpies from the early humid warmth of a WNY summer Wednesday, like a Friday with the Independence Day holiday on Thursday tomorrow, hot coffee already in the mug and garbage rolled to the curb on this zero commute workday from the home bunker command post  played 9 holes at last year's favorite Elma Meadows GC with course conditions that rival the best CCs of lush fairways, well trimmed and cut back roughs and greens that were photogenic, so of course there wasn't a single photo taken with my phone but I think Jim @The1C3man took one  great conditions and in no hurry let a few faster 2s and a 3 play through on my way to a 43 with a birdie on the historically troublesome uphill par 3 - epic and no meltdown holes sure makes a difference.  Finished with a nice 19th hole tailgating before heading home with Marc @Marc Threeput on the phone reliving the best times when our band of brothers played together often   PGA HOPE sessions 5 of 6 tonight at Glen Oak for today's golf fix, hope golf is a part of your day too 

Edit:  Also reading back - - - thanks for the best wishes that I am sure helped me to get on course after feeling I wouldn't in my morning post yesterday @rkj427 @sirchunksalot and hope I didn't miss anyone

Uppa with a cuppa. Happy Day to those who celebrate. I have a tee time this morning. I’ve been teeing off with TaylorMade Tour Response Stripe USA golf balls this week in honor of celebrating our departure from royal rule.
It’s looking to be a hot humid day in CNY. We had some trees trimmed, new plants put in fresh mulch laid down and the brick patio repaired. The yard is shaping up nicely. I now need to edge the back yard and put mulch in there as well. I will handle the smaller back yard.

Good morning Spies on a warm and muggy Michigan Wednesday before the July 4 holiday.

Have a tee time for noon, today, but at this time I will need to do stretches and exercises for my lower back as it is tight again this morning.

Hoping it doesn't limit my play, but time will tell later.

Good morning spies and happy hump day! Got a tee time this afternoon at 1350. Then the rest of the week we’re traveling. So no golf at that time. Getting better on my approach shots, yesterday was pretty good.

Good morning spies!

Last day of work this week before the long holiday weekend. Shouldn't be too terrible work-wise, but lots to do otherwise to prep for the trip (laundry, pack, drop the dog off at the sitter, etc.)

Luckily I can look forward to relaxing for the next few days, including a round of golf on Friday. Was going to try and get to the range after work today, but my wife is meeting up with some friends for drinks so I may join them.
