About as good as I can play. Had a nasty 4 putt double or I would have broke par. Not very likely but I’m gonna need this every week to have a shot at competing in flight 1 with those studs

Also I’m just trying to explain. I have put basically zero input into how this is run.  @GolfSpy_BEN can explain a million times better than me as he has put a ton of work into this but from what I seen last year there are a ton a “vanity” handicaps or false scores in my opinion. 
 

I understand everyone is trying to get better but a golfer shouldn’t hit or better  their handicap as often as I remember seeng it hit

are you taking into account that occasional posters may only post their good scores?

i’ve been posting most of my scores here, but I’ve not been able to play much golf recently, so I use the thought of posting here as motivation to get out there, so I appreciate the opportunity either way.

It was a wet course and I played in the South Texas Am Tour event today so I played from the tips with tournament pin placements. When I left the house, I said if I shot 85 I would be pleased and I shot 85 on the number...and of course I'm not pleased as I had a few bad 3-putts and hit a ball in the water.

I'll keep doing better for next time!

By far the best round I have seen starting back play golf last fall, even with a quadruple bogey mixed in.

First round of the week and I struggled getting my speed right on the greens. The mini continues to impress and the iron game was pretty solid for most of the round.

Cleaned up the penalties that cost me yesterday. Take this score over yesterday’s.

My driving iron is doing its job by giving more consistency of the tee.

Now to improve my putting.

Today was my first round as a 68-year-old.  Yesterday was my birthday and had a great time.  

When I step back and look at the round, it was likely one of the strangest I've had in a long time.

My fairways hit in regulation and greens in regulation were about average for me.  That's where things started to get weird.  In total, I had 7 up and downs for par and a great up and down for bogey to prevent a double. 

My short game is pretty good, but today's performance was significantly better than usual.  I had 15 putts on the front, including a rare three putt (after hitting the green in regulation).  On the back, I only had 11 putts!  That included two holes with 0 putts!  I've always had difficulty putting from the fringe.  I just can't seem to get the speed right.  But our greens right now are not in the best shape.  Today, I attempted to putt from the fringe twice and I made both (one for par and one for birdie).  

Overall, the round was a nice birthday present!  Though I was one shot off my handicap, I was extremely happy how I played (especially given the two rounds earlier this week).

Mid-day round with my Pops at his club. Pretty tough course (for a first timer) that took driver out of my hand a number of times - think doglegs, tight fairway corridors, and many forced layups.  High point was putting again - only one three putt for the round.

A great driving round. 2 bad swings lead to doubles and a driven green account for the only 3 missed fairways.

Fun, beautiful day with a 6:40 am start. Rough scoring - fighting through a very sore right lower back.

Distance suffered with every club, and I never could get into a scoring groove on the front 9.

It was still a good time with some good shots to build on.  If I can get my back sorted, I think I have some good scores waiting to emerge.

43-40-83 is not so bad at this course.  A year ago I would have been thrilled with that score.

Hot sunny day and I forgot to bring a hat so my head got pretty sunburned.   Course was pretty wet so there was little rollout and balls pretty much stayed where they landed on approach shots.   IMO, putting was the weakness since I was leaving most everything short.

Almost drove the green on the 1st hole. On my nemesis, the 2nd hole, I was on in regulation and pulling up to the green, when the skies opened up and:

So I sat in the cart for the next 25 minutes and patiently waited for the storm to pass. What had been a fairly busy course prior to the rain was practically deserted after, so even with the rain delay the round completed in 4 hours 15 minutes. Which is nice. 
 

I was -1 at the turn and had visions of going low. But the back nine had other ideas. Overall, very pleased with this round and my game feels like it is right on the cusp of doing some pretty cool things. The work continues.
