One of my personal favorite putter designers David Whitlam is introducing a new putter the "Big Dog"

This is a flange mallet in carbon steel with some special face engraving. These are the raw milled parts and have not yet been polished and plated.

More info to come on these...

Great looking face. It reminds me a bit of the Betti Fit-face.

What makes it a "Big Dog" though? IS it 400g?

Don't know that I like the face that much. It's interesting, but for me seems like there would be places there with all the W's that could influence some funky roll. Doubt it does, but the whole mental thing for me would be a block. I'd love it if it were simpler in the face area.

Looks like a New Endland putter R.I. (Rhode Island) and the Black Dog from Matha's Vineyard !

I'd try it.

Very cool! I like the engraving on the face very much. To me, this is one of the hardest head shapes to get just right (for my eye, of course), and from what I can tell, Whitlam knocked it out of the park with this one.

He did a great job on this one. I think he is one of the most under-rated designers in the business.

I'm also liking the shape on that one. I game an itsy bitsy right now, and hate the look of it, even though its the best thing I've found (for me). Would love to try one of these out.

wdgolf  Managed a game of winter golf today. After practicing with the orange whip, my swing went from fade bias to draw bias. Scores were probably half par, half triple. So many fat shots on soggy ground, it wasn't pretty
