Hurricane about 24 hrs away. Gonna play tommorow tomorrow and probably won't be able to play for 2 weeks if their predictions are right. Possible 20-30 inches of rain.

Shoot. I've played when it was 19°, the course let us play, they kept watering it to keep the frost down. As long as it isn't super windy, I'll just put my winter gloves on in between shots. A mushy ball is a must, like the Wilson DUO... perfect for ice golf.

Just think... in a few short months many of us will be complaining about having to wear jackets and how wearing so many layers affects our swing. Some of you won't be playing at all. Hot is not really that bad.

Affecting my swing may not be such a bad thing.

In La Porte about 192 miles northeast. I'm right by Galveston. Apparently this thing is going towards Corpus and then ride up the coast towards us. Should be fine. Got plenty of beer and might head to a friends house if things get bad.

There have been several small tornadoes in and around the area I live in.....they drop down rip through a few homes and then they are gone.

 

2 blocks from us one of those tornadoes hit about 50 homes and the local high school. We've gotten 10+ inches of rain and they are predicting 15-20 inches more between now and Wednesday.

 

We are just hoping that the risk of tornadoes is over.

Hey, If ya'll need a place to stay, the doors at Casa D' Hula are open.  I just heard that I-10 West to San Antonio is closed at some locations, might have to find a way around that......

Like all of us, my thoughts and prayers are with our friends impacted by Harvey.    My wife and I sent a donation to the Red Cross and requested that it be used to provide aid to those impacted by Harvey.   Whether they actually will honor that request, I don't know.   But I still think that supporting the Red Cross is a way to help our friends in Texas.  I do know that when a tornado hit an area near me, the Red Cross was there to provide aid and comfort.

It would take 6 years for us to get 40 inches of rain!!  It's been a wet year for us so far, a little over 5 inches, but none since early June.  We should get 2 more inches the rest of the year.
