Round is over and we're st the airport - what a great couple of days. Cleveland- Srixon did it up right for us!

 

Golf was a ton of fun - neither Brian nor I bothered to add up the scores. We hit some good shots, just not enough of them.

 

Club-wise - I was surprised at how much a liked the driver - was fit into a 9 degree with a Hzrdous yellow shaft. Was hitting it so well everyone in the group started calling my drives “J-Bombs.” It's a thing. It might catch on...

 

My iron and wedge game has been the la crapper over the past month, and today was no different. Greens were FAST - missed two birdie putts by inches - missed a few par and bogey putts by yards .

 

The tour was awesome - we actually met CEO Matt Yasumata in the parking lot when we arrived this morning. I'll post some pictures shortly, but we got to see everything but the secret R&D labs. We tried sneaking in but was McaseyM has in appetite, he lacks in stealth.

Wow, what an awesome experience all around. Thank you so much mygolfspy and Cleveland golf. It was a great experience. I'll look to follow up with some pictures. This morning we got to tour their facility/offices—very down to earth family feel. Then it was off to play a round with the new sticks. The hybrids really stood out to me today, they are fun to hit and look good to me at address.

Man alive I love that hybrid, sets up nicely and gets the ball airborne easy!

The driver was hot and miss today, some good some not so, but it's all part of the adjustment period.

The wedges and putter are amazing, so easy to get out of the sand with the 55 and 60.

I never really understood the putter counterbalance... until now. The Elevado 38 was almost automatic from 5 feet. It's a little weird having 6-8 inches of grip above my hands, but that quickly disappears once you start holing putts.

Can't speak for the other guys, but I had my shafts matched to my irons - Nippon Modus 3 120's. I think Brian did too. The custom department can install any shaft they offer in wedges.

Yup, next year no food, sorry guys, just water and tortilla chips.

 

As for the shafts for the wedges, they had the stock offerings at the fitting, but we could literally get what ever we wanted in what they had in the warehouse ( which was damn near every steel and a few graphite you could think of). We started the fitting with wedges, then after completing everything, went back to double check wedges. I have x stiff KBS hi-rev 2.0 in my current wedges and KBS tour x soft stepped in my irons, but since I rarely take full swings, and since I was getting the opportunity to get fit by someone that knows what they're doing, I went with his recommendation of staying consistent with the irons and stayed with the TT DG s300 hard stepped across the board for irons and wedges.

I've read great things about the Modus, but never having had the chance to actually swing them, I wasn't going to have them build something for me that I never actually tried.

Finally got caught up in this thread. Looks like you guys had a blast!

Love the look of the irons and this confirms that I was going to recommend them to my father.

Thanks for the pics in the studio and the old clubs. I remember the VGS irons that Corey Pavin won the US Open with. Can't wait to hear about your long term results
