Hello everyone! I'm a recently retired guy who has added golf to my various outdoor activities. (climbing, running and mountain biking) I had a late start as a player at age 23 and then had periods where I didn't play at all. My favourite course is Pacific Grove on the Monterey Peninsula. The back 9 is a true links designed by Alister McKenzie. I'm looking forward to reading the forum and the reviews. Cheers!

Welcome to the Forum.  Make sure you get up to SF and play Lincoln Park, the Presidio (costly but worth it) and TPC Harding Park.  Years ago, Harding used to be used as a parking lot for the PGA events at Olympic - but now that they dumped $$$ into it, it is a nice track.

 

Lots of other great golf courses in the area - Sharpe Park (just south of the city along the coast), and Crystal Springs, just off 280...

 

And don't forget Gleneagles at McLaren Park, a 9 hole track that has one of the best single malt scotch collections in the city, at a reasonable price!!! (although I will admit, as a former Sheriff's Deputy in California, when I played there I used to carry my sidearm in my bag, just in case...)
