The Good Morning Thread

Normally this is one of the weeks where I'm driving all over North Carolina for work. Not so this week; they're sending me to the St. Louis burbs to cover a colleague there who is assigned elsewhere, and I'm being covered in NC by another colleague who lives in Boston. But most of the people involved are flying, so the airline disruption has come at a very bad time (not that there's ever a good time). We had to cancel an appointment this morning in Charlotte because two other people couldn't get there, and trying to get it rescheduled this week has been like herding cats. But we finally got it rescheduled for Thursday morning; everyone involved is already there or will be in NC tonight, and we also had to add an appointment in Raleigh tomorrow which is also fully staffed now.

Not technically part of my job description to herd all these cats, but as I have told my manager, I've become the assistant manager in charge of North Carolina scheduling. Which she appreciates me taking this off her plate. Problem here is that there is no one person in charge of this catherding process. My manager assigns the seven of us, someone else assigns the two nurses for each appointment, someone else coordinates with the patient. And one of the patient coordinators is out because her father just died, which made it even harder. We had a group Slack with nine people on it, not including the one in charge of nurse assignments, but I think we got it fixed without him.

And I'm wondering if the St. Louis appointment on Thursday is going to happen, either. Can AA get me there? One of the nurses drives there so she's fine, but what about the other nurse?

It's stuff like this that sends me to the driving range to beat hell out of balls for pure stress reduction. If the thunderstorms leave the Casa, that is. Otherwise I may have to clean up my simulator area which has become a cat playground, and hope it's not too hot in the garage.

From what i read some of you are on the links, and some are recovering from illness, while others are dealing with life's trials and tribulations. I mean this when I say "I wish all fellow spies a good day today"

On the golf front, I am grooving my swing for some upcoming rounds scheduled over the next few weeks. I think I may take some video today and record my swing a little. I am also thinking of trying out the GolfBoy app that I have heard good things about. Will have to order a tripod to really test it. It uses your iPhone as a the camera and launch monitor.

That aside do I really like the local Trackman indoor sim place. Might just become a member there lol

For those who are interested, we have added another new feature to the L.A.B. DF3 testing, we are rolling out the "Best of the Best" series, aka the summary of the summaries.  What were some of the best insights, did the performance match L.A.B.'s marketing and promotion, did it result in more one putts, less three putts and overall less putts per round, did the L.A.B. DF3 go in and is still in the bag, etc.  This is also your opportunity to ask us questions based on our two months of testing.  As a follow up to @GolfSpy SAM  ( https://forum.mygolfspy.com/news-opinion/forum-member-review-l-a-b-df3/ ) excellent forum recap, we are starting with a Summation of the final reviews starting with the scoring and key conclusions.  Link is below

A little photo dump from the LPGA this morning.  My son got autographs from Henderson, Ko, McGuire and Zhang.  They were all very kind.  My son had a blast.

I was watching the putting drills and it was pretty amazing watching them.  I would struggle to putt through those tight gates.  They make it look easy. Effortless putting takes a lot of work.

We followed Lydia Ko for a few holes.  Ko hitting putts during the practice round was unreal no matter what long putt she tried from distance.  Just looked at the book and then would putt almost everything to under 1-2 feet. Sometime less than 3-6 inches.

The LPGA is definitely under rated for what kind of product it produces for the fans.

I'm glad your son had a good time watching the ladies play and I agree with you that they're underrated and deserve to get more recognition for how good their games are.

Connor and I had a fun time.  Connor (who is 12j was surprised how many pros were using blades as opposed to mallets. He couldn’t believe how consistent their putting was regardless of distance or break.  He was interested to see quite a few pros were using Callaway balls, as he said, he thought Callaway didn’t make very good balls. It’s interesting what kids see.

The LPGA is great and yes they are very kind.    I always loved going to the event that was held near me.

Fun night al league tonight. Shot 39, just ok (par is 34), and won my match. My partner won his also, so we moved from T- 6th to T -2nd, (24 teams).  Only 6 more weeks remain.

It's a nice morning here after all the rain we got yesterday and I'm enjoying my coffee and catching up here. 

There's not much on the agenda today with the exception of work. I need to find out if me and my friends are playing Friday, there are a couple of guys that are doubtful due to the chance of rain.

Not going to lie sometimes I just miss being a member. 

Things have been wild on our end and it is great to see/have, but also means missing out on a lot of what is going on here. 

For what it's worth if we as staff aren't quite as active for periods know that there is so much behind the scenes work that we are doing to bolster this community it is a bit hard to fathom at times. 

It will be a really fun finish to 2024 on all accounts.

Good morning all on a nice start to the day here. Pleasant temperature and just a little cloud but unfortunately no golf for me as got to wait in for a broadband engineer to turn up. Not to worry as the Boss is in the office today so would have been on dog sitting duties anyway. Unlikely I’ll get a round before the weekend but will have to see. 
For those that are having issues at the moment, medical or otherwise, sending good wishes and hope they get resolved.

Good morning Guys!

I got out yesterday after work and while my driver and approach shots were great my putting was horrendous. The rain we got recently really slowed the greens down and it took a bit to adjust to. With that said I won't be out tonight because of another league that I don't play in so I will practice hitting into a net in my yard.

Good morning MGSpies from the gorgeous warmth of a summer morning in the fair lands of WNY where just yesterday @The1C3man and I rolled out way with push carts and golf balls to another fabulous round at Elma Meadows GC where I may have started out with a double but from then on it was all singles and pars, that's right, multiple pars on both par 3s and the last part 4 with a nice up and down from a low green side sand  bunker and 20 foot 1 putt.  Ah yes glory days stuff.

19th hole recovery before heading home.

  Workday from the basement again, great to see the stories about LPGA autographs and all the goings on with forum friends.  But most of all hope golf is a part of your day!

Morning all. The rain prevented any golf again yesterday so we will try again today. Getting a lot more long breaks in between chances to swing clubs which really gets into my head. I would like a nice range session to keep any rust from taking hold.

Courses seem to be busier than usual as of late as well so I think everyone in the area is experiencing the same thing.

Got a lot of rain last night, but luckily today is looking like a beautiful day. Going to the head to the driving range shortly to get some practice in before work. Should be a pretty low-key day, with the only plans being dinner tonight to celebrate my birthday. I've never been a big birthday guy, but I can appreciate a good meal! Now if only I had the day off to go golfing...

I mean its not every day I get to combine two loves into one afternoon, but this one took the cake yesterday.

We see animal sitting in the shade maybe 70yds off the teebox.  They arnt sure what it is... 

Me:
"100% a cat"

League has me playing a teebox back from my fellows (my age + handicap means I get to play the blues while rest of my partners are on the whites).

So I hit first and think.... I am going to become this animals best friend.

Good morning spies! It's another beautiful morning which means time well spent is spent on the golf course. I'm getting ready to head that way and play with my buddy. My game has been feeling pretty good lately, so I'm excited to get out there and compete. After golf, I've got some grad school to do and then some packing. It's setting up for a great day!

Another rainy day on tap here so a quiet day to relax, though a bit busier at work today.

Kids have really been interested in learning more about the Titanic, they even watched a short documentary and our oldest built a Lego model of it after and they want to learn more. Its fun when they get into something like that.

Top of the pot and Happy Hump Day Spies!   We finally got some rain on Monday as a small monsoon storm rolled through the area.  The east valley has been getting reasonable rainfall but we've been getting missed in the west valley.  Slightly cooler temps and the chance of t-storms this week... just show up when I'm not golfing please .

Men's league Individual quota and gross/net skins today at Granite Falls South.  Hopefully some birdies are in store as I'm in a little cold spell getting those the past few rounds.  That said, I did set a new PB index of 6.7 (7.0 was my previous).   Now onto a 5 something .

..oops... Forgot to say good morning to everyone, so - Good Morning everyone! 

We're dog sitting for a few days so guess I was distracted by that... Cute very mixed breed stray that younger stepson rescued while overseas. He's traveling with his father so we get to watch Bubba - yep that's what the kids named the dog

Off to chiro in a few. Not sure if I can get any golf practice time in as wife has to go to the dentist and someone has to be here with the dog - he's used to having someone around and doesn't like to be alone!

Good morning, Spies!!! Happy, umm, that day!!

It's a rainy morning here, with plenty more incoming. Doesn't look like golf's being played this week. But I'll keep my eyes on the forecast to see what may or may not be possible. But an 85% chance on Sunday isn't a good number.

Not too much is happening at the moment, outside of work. So I'll just keep this short.
