The Good Morning Thread

Well, 8 minutes after morning here on the west coast.  Just got home from a 7am round with my wife.  We played with an old guy (good stick) and his grandson (first year on a course).  We have played with them before, but last time they played a scramble; today the boy played his own ball.  Much improved, but still had some major issues.

My back still hurts on some swings; other swings are OK.  I managed a 42/39 = 81… birdied #1 and #16, but had two doubles.  We play with another couple tomorrow, so will see how it goes.  

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend and that the weather is good for golf.  Play well.

Get to do one of my favourite things today!! Golfing with my sons!! There’s a course by where we live (Collicutt Siding in Crossfield, AB) that has a fantastic kids program and a little three hole course for juniors to play only, no pressure from adults behind them and they learn to enjoy the game at their pace on their their time. I get to walk the course with them (no adults allowed to golf) and get to just enjoy them finding fun in golf. Hot dogs at the turn for the win as per usual! Gonna be a great day spies!

That’s pretty neat that your kids have access to a juniors only course! I don’t think I’ve ever seen that around me. I’m currently struggling to find any kids programs that are outside of private courses in my area.

I always enjoy the photos Robert and am in awe of the quality and variety of cars you have at these events. I guess living near the Motor City does that for you.

Great pics! Cars & Coffee type events are good fun and sounds like that's a great cause.

We have an Indy car team that moved to less than a mile from my house and after they finished the Indy car factory, they started building their sports car and motorbike (Ducati dealership) sales and service centers. Between the three is a parking lot and plaza they're going to use for Cars & Coffee and Bike Night meets. Can't wait! In the UK I used to have car meets a mile or so from my house, so this is a welcome addition here in Indy.

Good morning Spies on this first of four Sundays during the month of August.

Final round of Olympic golf and will be interesting to see who can step up their games to get a spot on the podium for medals.

Looking to be the last of our hot and humid days here as it is supposed to cool off next week, and that will be a welcomed change.

Hoping to get some range time in later today, after getting some normal items knocked of the "honey-do" list.

Hope all here have the best day they possibly can, and that something enjoyable is in your plans.

Good morning everyone! 

It's looking like it's going to be a bit warmer today and I am going to be getting out later to finish off the yard. I couldn't bring myself to do it after going to the Chinese buffet for my SIL's birthday. 

We had a great evening trading in books for store credit and then heading to Lowe's to get some storage containers. It's crazy how we define fun as adults. 

Let's drink some coffee and give the animals some love to get the morning started.

Good Sunday Morning Spies!  

Cloudy & 79 degrees this Sunday morning. It appears Tropical Storm/Hurricane Debby is continuing to move northwest in the gulf and might spare the Central Florida/ Orlando area. Rain is forecasted to hit us around 11am-12pm.  Golf course is slow this morning, so no Ranger duties today.   Working on 2nd cup of espresso and catching up on emails.  Need the rest anyway! 

Let's hope the hurricane spares the Tampa/St. Pete & Northwest Florida area. 
Stay hydrated today.  Have a Great Day & Hit'em straight!

Top of the pot spies! .  Going to be a toasty day here in AZ, but then we get another spell of "cooler" weather.  Yes, my thermostat now can sense the difference between 105F and 115F . 

A fellow spy/friend (but not very active on the forum) I met from our winters in Yuma is in the area and will be stopping by to visit.  Not sure if we'll try and play a round due to temp's; maybe just go hit balls at the range, catch-up on happenings, and grab a beer.

Getting ready to head out for a tee time with a couple friends. This is a course I haven't played before, but have heard great things. Hoping to put these new swing feels into play and find more FIRs and GIRs!

Not much on the agenda for the rest of the day. Probably just relaxing and watching some Olympics before the Sunday Scaries set in this evening. 

Rooting for Tom Kim to secure a bronze today in the Olympics to avoid 21 months of mandatory military duty. Can't even imagine the additional pressure on him to perform well today.

Morning spies! Just pulled 13 at the ol paper plant and my feet are feeling every minute.. my main scramble partner challenged me for bragging rights this Wednesday at 8am.. Winner gets a case of the new Volvik Vista balls and doesn't have to buy beer for a month! He has a longer drive and a nice putting game but I got the fairways and approach and decent with a putter.. Gonna be interesting!

Good morning MGSpies on this first Sunday of August on a gorgeous summer morning here in WNY.  The rains moved past yesterday giving everything a good soaking, great year for it so far and farmers are doing very well despite a few storms that knocked down grain crops in places. 

The weather is perfect for the agenda today.  Going to wife's uncle's early afternoon to setup the annual backyard garden party with portable canopies for guests and for the family rock and roll band.  Once everyone arrives it is food, fun and music with dinner in the middle of a very long set, the play list is 24 songs and will serve as a good warmup to the next open mic tomorrow evening at 7pm at Talty's Tavern in South Buffalo if anyone locally wants to catch our sound.

Got son moved out of his apartment before lunchtime yesterday and finished loading just before the rains arrived for a very wet drive all the way back to fort EP outpost and command center.  6 miles left in the trip, a StabiliTrak service screen popped up on the navigation display with ABS and Traction Control lights glowing so it looks like I am doing front wheel bearing assemblies after all this summer on the Equinox.  Yay, all new wheel bearings in one season 

It was good to have 3 days of golf back to back to this week as this coming week is already well planned on the calendar.  Some of it is golf.

I thought the same thing on my trailblazer.  Turned out the abs/traction sensor plug on the left wheel side was the culprit.  Cleaned it off,  sprayed some wire-dry in there, a smidgen of dielectric grease and voila! No more issues!

 

Good morning Spies!  It's a do nothing Sunday here.  I have no plans, no golf, no yard work, no honey-do list!  I may tinker in the garage a bit, may go see a movie, who knows!

Good morning spies and happy Sunday! A lot of packing today as my wife and I prepare to close on our first home tomorrow afternoon. An exciting, yet busy time for us. This week is going to be very busy with moving, work, and a youth football camp. I'm hopeful I can get out and play golf at least a few times this week, starting with tomorrow morning. We will see!

Went golfing with a friend of mine a couple weeks back and we got paired with a couple random guys that we got paired with months ago. It’s hilarious and like catching up with an old friend you haven’t seen in ages. Little things like this make me happy.

Congratulations on your first home! It's a pain having to do all the packing and moving, but the feeling of knowing it's yours and the fact you'll be making a lifetime of memories makes it worth it.

Good morning Spies! No golf today, we are heading out on the water. My oldest wants to play tennis this morning so we are gonna hit the tennis court before we launch the boat. Played a par 3 course yesterday. It is always a good reminder that I need to get better with the short irons! Have a great day!

Yeah their Junior Academy is very cost effective (like $40 for 8 weeks), probably 30-40 coaches each week just to help kids learn basic fundamentals. It’s a full 18hole course and each hole has a Junior tee that is 80-200 yards out from the green so they can learn to play a round of golf and not have as much pressure. Then a couple years back the course finally completed their junior course which is just a three hole track that kids can just keep doing laps on all day if they want for just $5, they just know how to foster the love of the game there.

Good morning spies! It was HOT yesterday so I only played nine and stopped and putted with the newLAB DF3 on the number 9 green for a while (pictures later today). Boy so far I sure like that putter. Not much else planned for today. Might go to some craft stores down in Tempe to find something my wife can do in this heat. Phoenix broke a record yesterday at 116 degrees. 

@fixyurdivot just go play this afternoon. The course will be absolutely empty. You and your friend can zip around the course in short order!
