Good morning all, happy hump day! Got a loooooong workday ahead of me as a new cohort is starting for our lifestyle change program at the hospital this evening at 5. Sadly means no golf today unless the kids fall asleep fast enough where I can walk over to a green and drop a few balls to chip and putt right before dark. Definitely ready for the long holiday weekend

Morning spies,

Chuckle for your day. Traveling for work this week and staying just outside of Knoxville TN. While checking in to the hotel yesterday I got a lot of stares in the parking lot and in the lobby. I had my usual business travel things. Suitcase, golf clubs, and dressed to play golf look. Golf pants, golf shirt, hat sunglasses. You know, “business casual”.

Finally someone says good luck in the tournament. How did they know that I wasn’t just going to play golf and was in a tournament. I said thank you and off to the elevator I go. I get to my room turn on the news and they were doing a big thing on the Korn Ferry Tour being in Knoxville this week. Boy did I get a good laugh out of that. I am in a tournament but just not that one.

Boo Weakly is actually playing in it and they interviewed him. He is still a character and funny. Off to work now.

Well up kinda late for me this AM. Only on the second cup of coffee. Today is sorta a light yard work day and light practice day.

I beat my expectations in the first day of our event. I shot 79 (+7) gross off a 15 index with taking the whole handicap. I am tied for the lead with two other players at 64 net. I was really pleased because the round could have been much lower. I had a triple and a double in all of that with 3 lip out birdies. My mess ups were due to me playing extremely well and the old Stu resurfacing in trying to hit 2 hero shots I had no business trying. I did exceed my goal of being in the top 5 and I had it figured I could do that with a 80 or 81 so I exceeded my expectations. Our handicaps are fixed through the event but I have already been told mine WILL go down come Friday. It does not phase me one bit. I am not really into it to win money or events but for the comp and exceeding my personal goals. My overall goal is to get it back down to single digit specifically the 5 I was at before my accident. One of the guys I am tied with is a solid 5 and a good stick. Pre accident I could hang with him and in 19 he beat me by one shot in the Open club comp in the Championship flight. The other guy I know entirely nothing about. He laughed yesterday and said well it looks like 19 again and I told him on my end I hope it turns out in my favor this time. We got a big laugh. Yep we are in the last group for Thursday. Win lose or draw I have already exceeded my expectations. I basically wanted in the hunt and I did it. I have had several phone calls and am the sentimental favorite because everyone knows what I have went through the last 3 years. But really I do not feel any pressure at this time.  I have already written me a 3x5 card to go on the cart Thursday " Leave my balls at home and pack extra brains"

It looks like rain for us for the weekend. I have not scheduled myself to play the small money game for Friday. Now I am on as a fill in on a Scramble team for Saturday but from the look of things that will be a washout. As SOP for us I will stay in on any holiday weekend here except early golf and of course Church on Sunday. My wife as usual when she gets off work Thursday morning ( stocker at Wal Mart 2 nights a week) will do all the grocery shopping etc. In our 23 years at this Tourist and retirement mecca we have learned to stay close in during holidays.

Morning is off to a great start getting to see once again that my Nitron push cart has arrived. Would like to break it out tonight to take it for its maiden voyage in my league but have to wait until next week for that I can properly get it unboxed and post my initial thoughts. Oh well, only 3 days left int he school year and today is our school carnival which really means only 2 more days. Never wanted a Friday to arrive more than I do this week. Been a really rough ride this year.

Morning all .. hope it's a good one for everybody! 

Had a good practice session yesterday where I also got to demo a Paradym X driver and test out a few shafts.

Got an invite to a really nice private course this afternoon - this is one of those courses that's been in danger of the land getting sold off to condo and townhouse developers... Not sure what the current status of that is, but it's a great piece of property with a lot of waterfront overlooking Long Island Sound .. obviously quite valuable.

The course is supposed to be pretty tough with a lot of uphill and downhill .. and I'm sure plenty of different side hill .. shots, so yeah I'm packing a bunch of extra golf balls!

Maybe I'll make myself a copy of Big Stu's note...

Good Wednesday morning!

 

Last night I was a sub in a 2-man scramble league at our local course.  We had 2 other teams playing with us and both carts had loud country music blaring from their portable speakers.  I am not a fan of someone forcing me to listen to their music, let alone two different country playlists at the same time.  Then one time we were close to another hole and we got to experience some loud rap music mixed in with the country.  However, on a positive note, I had my best ball striking round since my shoulder surgery last Nov.  Let's see....Country Music + Rap = good play???  Maybe trying to ignore the music caused me to focus more on my play?

Good Morning Spies!  Cloudy Central Florida morning. Finished first cup of coffee, on second cup. May be dodging rain drops this morning  while playing 18 holes. We do need the rain though.

Good morning Spies,

Warming up and leading to rain later today. About to have my second cup. No golf today. Celebrating my sweetie today as it’s her birthday. She chose to try a new Mexican restaurant for lunch today. (Central NY isn’t exactly a hot spot for great Mexican food so we are always on the look out.) Then will pick up her cake. She loves cows so we can’t wait to see what the baker came up with. I will post a follow up pic.

Sitting having my coffee and watching James Robinson talk about MyGolfSpy!  Pretty cool.

We send our oldest off to Cincy for her summer internship today.  It's only a 90-minute drive away, but still tough despite how exciting and positive it is for her.

Just made I tee time for Tuesday at Fall Creek Falls golf course for myself and three friends. Can't wait!

Good morning MGSpies from a warm, though losing some of the heat for the next 36 hours until it builds back into the weekend, WNY on this Wednesday, the day after hitting my first ever Eagle on the Par-4 3rd at Elma Meadows GC with a 189 driver off the Senior tee and 143 5-iron onto the green where the ball disappeared from view heading for the flagstick - such an amazing thing to watch and from my history of play I actually thought it could have rolled off the back of the green but the others in the foursome said it dropped into the cup.

Thought it might be wearing my PGA Championship volunteer uniform items but the rest of the round was my golf as usual.  Hope golf is a part of your day

Good morning Spies. Unfortunately for me, it isn't a late start as I have been at work and "slammed" putting together data and information for an old issue which reared it's ugly head AFTER all corrective actions were implemented to prevent reoccurrence for the past 3 hours.

This should probably be in the cobra connect thread, but I wonder if @chisagmight be worried that people think you are a pro . Maybe it was just because you had cobra branding on everything and not how you looked?

GM Y'all!!!!! HAPPY day!!!!! Congrats on the eagle on the the eagle @EasyPutter. Those are rare and wonderful birds!!!!! Hope everyone has a great golf filled day. I didn't make it to the range yesterday- hopefully today. I'm leaving early today to take care of some STUFF, then should have some time to get there. Thank Y'all for making my mornings SOOOOOO much better. Make it the best day possible and WE got this!!!!!!

Fun par 3! That pond shouldn't come into play but I've been with plenty of guys that end up there. I never even look at the flag and just try to get it on and 2 putt and get outta there.

Board meeting is over.  Coffee has been added. Library, haircut and golf league to come for the balance of the day.  Hoping my round yesterday helps my drives tonight.  Just can't make the adjustments consistently from my lesson last week.

Tomorrow we are making the trip to Cleveland Clinic for Hubby's ticker!  Hopefully they get it back in rhythm.

Lessons are funny that way, I have found in my experience that, depending on the person, sometimes it takes weeks to input the fundamentals into your swing, keep at it...
