Morn all! We’re on a bit of summer vacation now, so I’m paying a bit more attention to golf again.

June started with a bit of a drought that had everyone on edge. After driving by some brown golf courses I thought for sure I was back in California.

MIL needed some help getting to and from the doctor and hospital for a couple weeks. Since all communication with those places has become via an app on the iPhone or iPad, her frustration of having to keep up with the technology was understandable. But we were able to help her get her health back on track, and she’s starting to feel better about life.

July has brought rain. Lots of rain. Good ol’ Danish summer.

@sirchunksalot Have a great day and good luck with your round (I hope you take down all challengers)! Hopefully there are no cones in the middle of your fairways getting in the way.

Sounds like you've got a tough decision on what shoes to buy since both Adidas and Puma make some good ones. 

Thanks for the well wishes, I'm hoping to put up a decent round and it's good practice with the irons knowing I can't grab anything else out of the bag.

Good morning Spiers on a cloudy and damp Wednesday here. Nothing on the agenda for me except work and ducking the rain for the next couple days. Hopefully things clear out and the weekend is forecast to be warm and sunny.

Good morning spies! Woke up to 66° and clouds with a threat of rain this morning. Forecast says chance of rain all morning and then just overcast for the afternoon. I’ll take the clubs with me to work just in case I get the itch to go play afterwards.

Glad that you got off to a normal start today @sirchunksalot , those “running behind” days can suck. Hope that you enjoy your irons only challenge today.

Good Wednesday morning everyone, another beautiful day on tap here. Kids are probably heading to the lake, but looking forward to some time outside to finish off the day. I hope everyone has a great day and that you have nice weather as well.

Good morning MGSpies from a stormy cloudy WNY on this Wednesday, some showers overnight but nothing like east of here  hot coffee setting the day right on this zero commute no traffic cone  morning.  Round of golf yesterday was hopelessly doubles on just about every hole even when finding the green in reg, today is PGA HOPE session 6 of 6 at Glen Oak GC with celebration for the graduates. Hope golf is a part of your day

GM & Happy Wednesday!!  Played yesterday and just beat the monsoon.  Played OK not great.  We have a 7:52 Tee Time this morning and I’m concerned it could be really mushy with yesterday rains.   
Gson played in a American Legion Showcase for college scouts.  He played well with a couple hits.  Caught 2 innings and 3rd base for 2 more.  He had a few notices from his coach about colleges that are interested.  He just turned 17 and will be HS Senior in the Fall.

Morning all been a hot minute since jumping in this thread. Up early this morning to get to Hollywood studios in Disney. Finishing breakfast and packing to get the kids out the door for 7:15 (which really isn’t all that late but a few days of Disney will tire ya out )

Rainy Season in FL is unpredictable.  Good thing is kids don’t mind much and always have a great time, until they get tired.   Enjoy it!!

Playing today in my Club individual match play (won first match against the club's captain under the rain). Beautiful day today but the course is likely to be soaking wet.

Well, woke up to the power turning off a little after 6am and then coming back on shortly after. Massive thunderstorm rolling through will probably mess up my 8:15 tee time. Will have to wait and see what the course has to say here soon. So until then, just gonna drink my coffee and relax. Hope everyone hits em straight!

Good morning MGS'ers! Played 9 holes of irons only for the Cobra challenge yesterday before my scramble league and shot a 48. First four holes were rough and took some mental adjusting, but finished +4 over my last 5 holes. Going to head up to the range today over lunch and keep working on a slight change I am making to my set-up at address and grip. I am going further into my fingers on my lead hand so just a different feel. Will probably roll some more putts with the Cobra Supernova as well, but in it's first run yesterday on course it performed on par with my Spider Tour Platinum. Different feel at impact but rolls the ball incredibly well.

No golf today. Dog walked Coffee going down as I type. Then will be donating blood after lunch. If you can donate, I’d encourage everyone to do so. I’ll hit the 3 gallon mark today in NY. I was hoping that donating would dilute my swing flaws but alas no.

And using the Trackman last night was a lot of fun, as well as a little humbling lol. Found out that my ball-striking with my driver is super consistent, just not off the sweet-spot . Can't seem to avoid hitting off the heel right now. As far as the results, the test was decidedly unscientific but now I know how to do a better test.

No golf for me today, but hope everyone getting out today has fun and stays dry!

Good morning spy's, by reading the posts sounds like lots going on today, summer is great eh?

I arrived back home in Sooke B.C. last night after being away for a week. I played in two tournaments and stayed in the residences at University of British Columbia Okanagan in Kelowna. 

2 seperate bedroom and a shared bathroom with a kitchen on each floor, shared of course. It worked out well as the other golfer who I split the room with and I have travelled a lot together and kindof know our routine. The hook for this is the price of course.

7 nights, all in 430$ canadian each. so basically 65$ per night. And with the kitchen, I brought enough food for breakfast each morning so I believe my total food spending was about 125$ canadian. We did get a couple of meals at each tournament etc. which helped as well. 

So I believe all in with gas to get to the events, (Kelowna is about 330km's from Vancouver) and two trips on the ferry at 100$ each way I think the whole trip will be under 1000$. Which i see as a win for 7 days on the road. 

Now the rub, I find it difficult to be away from home without my wife for long periods of time, just my personality I guess and probably my age, It didnt used to bother me but I guess I am getting stuck in my ways. And that extra anxiety coupled with the nerves of competing are getting harder on me. I am really going to have to work on that if I intend on travelling without her and playing golf or start looking for events closer to home, which is difficult as the senior events are not close to me. She always travels with me for the provincial and national events so that is good. 

(Boy it is nice to have this forum so I can put down in words how I am feeling, kindof helps me) anyway I won't ramble on, in summary, happy to be home and had a lot of golf and a lot of ups and downs, now have 10 days off and up to Williams Lake B.C. in the cariboo for the Provincial Championships... should be a blast.

Do you hover the driver behind the ball or sole it on the ground?  If you sole it centered behind the ball, raise the club to where impact would be.  You'll find the heel is behind the ball.  Need to position the club a little toward the toe, then raise the club to where the ball is in the middle.  Not an issue if you hover the driver.

I'll have to try both next time I hit, hovering and addressing toward the toe with the club down.

Good Morning everyone!!  My wife and I went out at 4:30pm tee time yesterday with @Thin2win who is in my area for work.  Played 9 holes in the heat; didn't play well and none of us could putt.  I don't normally play this late in the day, and the poa annua greens get a lot slower from morning to evening.  Had an enjoyable dinner at a location that has many food trucks so we could get whatever food we wanted.  No golf today.

Good Thursday morning everyone! Not much going on this morning, I had my first normal morning in two days, so I'm happy. 

I played yesterday in the Cobra Irons Only Challenge and am having nothing but positive golf thoughts right now. It's amazing what lowering your expectations and playing what the course gives you can do for your confidence.
