Bandon would be an excellent alternative; Golf Digest ranks Pacific Dunes #2 on its best US public courses list, and four of its sister courses are in the top 20. A lot closer to me, Pinehurst #2, and several of its neighbors in the Sandhills. Pebble. Kiawah. Whistling Straits. TPC Sawgrass. And if you're really a masochist, Bethpage Black. I don't think I'm ever gonna be that crazy to play Black.

Can't really go wrong choosing Bandon. You can save some money and stay off the resort and eat in town. So many good places for food and you can Air BnB or even get a less expensive motel in town. The golf is expensive enough already. The resort is only 10 minutes or so from Bandon proper.

Good morning all. A beautiful, warm, sunny start to the day here. A busy day for me today as we leave for a weeks holiday in Tenerife tomorrow so all the last minute chores need doing. Taking Cookie to the cattery today and Bluebear to his pet sitter tomorrow so there’ll be no golf for me now for over a week and I may be absent from the forum while I’m away. Cookie is pretty chilled about going away

Congrats! If not for ppl like you commenting and conversing this forum wouldn't be near as interesting! This is definitely a great group of ppl! I've got almost 330 since I started in January but that's just bc I never shut up .. Been a pleasure getting to know all of y'all over the past half a year though

Clear & Central Florida morning & already 75 degrees with a high of 97 today. No golf today, early Ranger duties this morning, enjoying the first cup of espresso. Watching Perry Mason reruns. Then heading out! 
Missed yesterday morning thread, worked cart barn early. Congrats on 5th place finish @Northern Monkey!! Well done!

Good morning, spies on this Saturday morning, where I am on duty. I hope everyone has a great weekend and gets to play some type of golf

Morning All,

Yesterday’s scramble had a handicap system in place that I guess you could say made it more competitive. All the guys that were younger than 40 were playing one up from the tips. 40-59 would play the next, anyone over 60 played the next and then the women’s played the closest. We took none of my drives because my scramble team had guys who played for 20+ years and were driving the ball to less than 100 yards almost every time on the par 4’s. Two par 5’s they did this “solo cup” challenge. Simple terms, everyone on your team tees it up, then placed a solo cup over the ball. You then hit it and whoever had the better spot, that’s where you teed it up at. The second time we did that, our “tee” shot was only 160 yards. I was the only one to get it on the green, so we had an albatross putt. Only made eagle, but that format of their rules was fun. They did a straw pull for string, if you got the shortest straw you got the shortest amount of string. This was for putts. We got the second longest which aided us in obtaining birdies. All in all it was fun. I should have my final review of the SQAIRZ Velo’s up later this evening. Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning and happy Saturday everyone! Up and at it early this morning and getting ready for an early morning tee time. I'm playing with my boss and some of his buddies, so I will need to have my A game. Not to mention that my boss plays at like a +2 handicap. I will keep you updated!

Good Morning on this bright and sunny day (here, for now anyway )!!

Gonna be a fun filled weekend - wife and I gonna meet her daughter for lunch then we're all headed to Met Life (used to be Giants) Stadium to see .. (brag ) George Strait .. with (brag ) Little Big Town and Chris Stapleton opening!!

.. then staying over near the stadium, and Sunday meeting some friends for lunch at craft brewery not too far from the hotel.

I've wanted to see The Strait Man live for years - but in Texas - and unfortunately the timing has never worked out for that...

In golf news for out for 9 late yesterday and happy to say am starting to hit the ball much better - including the irons. Finally! Did mess up off the tee a few times, and managed to 3 putt several times, too. But happy overall with the progress.

K so hope all my good golf friends out there have a fun and enjoyable weekend .. with hopefully some good golf time if you can!!

We had a bonus nice day yesterday after a misty cloudy start. Hiked Hawk Mountain and was rewarded with a great view of long lake and Crystal Lake(Friday the 13th fame)

Uppa with a cuppa. It’s an overcast morning in CNY. Yesterday was supposed to be the start of the church golf league. Rain was coming through and it appeared to be clearing. We got notified by the course that due to weather they canceled the league night. About an hour later a thunderstorm blew through. Thankfully they canceled.

my brother-in-law and his wife are going tonight also. He is a huge Strait fan and thought he was never going to see him because he doesn't tour in the North East. Have a great time

Up early getting the family situated before I head out to Oneida for a tournament. This is only the second year I didn’t play multiple days but hoping a fresh start on the Saturday round nets me some decent cash. It’s a plus that the game is feeling good going into the round hopefully that stays the case. now if this overcast can stay as such and the rain holds that would be helpful

I'm off to a later start than normal due to being under orders from the better half to sleep in and recover from doing four days of golf then heading back to a busy job. I guess she's the boss.

@buckpillar congrats on the milestone! It's been great having you as part of our community. 

It's going to be a get the yard work done day here, I neglected to do it before the outing and it's driving me nuts.
