Driver was back for 4 of the 8 holes I used it on. Still so frustrating. Also saw a jump in my wedge distances which led to some difficulty with control. It was close to 90 degrees so I think the ball was just jumping. Putter was inconsistent, a 3-jack from 15 ft and a made putt of 21 ft.

This is two (2) 9-hole rounds on the front nine of the Walnut Creek Pecan Course.  Shot 38 with 2 birdies on Sunday afternoon and even par with all pars yesterday afternoon.  Total score for 18 holes = 73.

Good round.  Lowest putts ever at 32 with 5 3-putts.  If I can tighten up my short game I'll drop 4-7 shots there.  Got in the sand thrice and had trouble getting out the second time. 

Was caddied by my GolfTec coach for the first half.  Took a long break to review at the turn and lost my mojo a bit.  Came up to 10 and a threesome was just hitting off.  They asked if I wanted to play through as I was a single and had a cart.  Hitting off with them watching caused the yips, hit it to #18 fairway, hit a tree trying to punch back over, hit it right trying to get back again, and after another few mishaps ended up with a 9.  Then followed that with an 10 on #11.  Sheesh.

Feel like I played better than my score. Two doubles in a row on the front hurt a lot. Birdie putts would not drop.  Hit some good iron shots though.  
 

I shoot +11 or +12 every time at this course.  Cannot seem to break through even though playing better.  Need to do some analysis on that.  
 

Shot of the day was this 180 yard 6 iron on the 453 yard par 4, which was my sole birdie on the day.  (Again, putts not falling.)  Felt great!

Played 2nd Nine this afternoon to match with my Nine from last week.  37/39 = 76.  Rolled in 2 natural birdies, one about 30 feet off the fringe, and the other a 25 foot with about 6 feet left to right break.  Of course I missed two birdie putts inside 15 feet to balance it out.

Ok I’m happy I was still in the 80’s but not that happy. Too many weird shots seem to come out of nowhere after some great shots. Like a shanked wedge or how about a hoseled hybrid!! Very rare! Anyway starting out with birdie then par gave me hope that quickly vanished after the double bogey third. Anyway still glad that it was in the 80’s!!

After getting a couple of inches of rain over the last two days, our course played longer today.  Given a series of circumstances, our normal Saturday men's league was down to two.  Needless to say, we finished in less than three hours (2 hours 54 minutes) without rushing.  Overall, that's probably the most positive thing that happened in the round.  

I did hit all but two fairways and the total missed distance was about four feet (one was three inches).  I was OK with my chipping yielding three up and downs as well as only 27 putts.  

Since there was only two of us, we decided to play skins.  I had to give up 11 strokes.  What made it interesting was that for the first 16 holes, we had no carry overs!  One of us won each hole.  Plus, after sixteen, we each had eight individual skins!.  We pushed both 17 and 18.  I just thought it strange going that long without one carry over.

Hole 1 was a brilliant drive, awesome on in 2 that looked close to pin but on closer inspection was 30+ feet uphill with right break towards the end, and sank it for birdie - meaning for once in my golf life my score at some point on the card was below par for the round!

My goodness what a great ball striking day. I hit 16 greens in regulation. Had 31 putts. However, I had 6 putts lip out! Only 1 bogey. It was an easy day (if there ever is on on the links) and should have been lower. Hit 4 drives over 300 yards. I only miss hit 4 shots today!

Came out of the gates SLOW this morning.  3 Doubles on the front nine.... 2 OB holes and one Water... So 5 penalty strokes and the additional strokes due to the mental anguish of 5 penalty strokes... but did have a birdie mixed in there.  Smooth 44 going out.  Turned to the back nine with a new attitude, and birdied 10, and strung a bunch of pars together with one bogey to shoot even par 36 on the back.  I guess I can say I'm happy to shoot 80 with 5 penalty strokes.

Just didn’t have it today. Pretty solid off the tee but put a wedge in my hand and it’s like I had never golfed before.

Cant complain too much when playing a beautiful course though. Even got a 25th anniversary poker chip leftover from when they celebrated it earlier in the week
