My goodness it was very hard today. Cool and extremely windy. I mean steady 15 mph and gust to over 30 mph! We played on a course with very few holes downwind. Shot a solid 40 on the front, but got it together for 35 on the back! Hit less greens than normal, but hit 11 fairways with only 31 putts! I am happy. I guess success sometimes depends on the conditions! The PCC for the day was +1.

Not bad, but I had three blow-up holes, each with a penalty and a bad chip. I think next time, I’ve got to make my practice shorter. That way, I know I’ll have some juice left for the final holes.

yes, Aviara is the one course included with the SwingCaddie SC4 launch monitor I have.
I'm torn between really wanting to play a different course and not wanting to spend anymore for an additional course or a subscription.

I’ve been meaning to try to the courses in E6. I get like 5 with the Rapsodo but haven’t tried them out yet. Really like the range feature though.

Windy day, but in the 70s, so really nice.  Ok day got to play new Callaway balls (see elsewhere).  Just couldn't get in close enough to score really well.

Quick question: if a PCC is applied by the handicap system should we update our course handicap for the round? Meaning if I was a zero, but there was a PCC of +1. So, should my handicap actually be a 1 for that round? 
I am a bonehead and should never have asked this question. As explained to me by @Golf2Much the PCC is pure magic that GHIN does on its own. So, it doesn’t move the net needle for this tournament. May or may not affect one’s handicap index after the fact.

It starts with you playing a round of golf. It can be an actual round or a SIM round. After completion, you click on the post score button within this thread. It asks a few basic questions: gross score, course handicap, strokes above or below par, number of net birdies or better, and distance of longest drive. Then add any comments you wish to include, photos, etc. and hit submit. Your score will then be added to the leaderboard. Pretty easy stuff and we have golfers of all skill levels currently participating. You can also post as many or few rounds as you choose. No pressure of any kind.

Today's round started with getting wet riding my scooter to the course.  My wife needed the car.   Something about having a root canal?!  Anyway, luckily, I brought my golf rain jacket as it rained off and on all during the round.  Given that, I actually didn't do that bad.

My fairways hit was pretty good at 86% with only one miss to the left and one miss to the right.  Looking at my approaches, though 6% (only one in regulation) isn't too good (even for me), I was somewhat pleased that I had two long approaches, one left and one right.  The five up and downs is about average for me, but I know I left at least three out there with some marginal chips.  It showed with the 30 putts (but no three putts).

It seems like I'm settling into a phase of decent play.  Not great, but not too bad!  My driving length has improved 5-10 yards.  Today, even with some wind, I had three drives over 180 yards.  If you look back at 2023 my VCT postings, the longest drives were in the mid 170's.  Though it doesn't look it, my putting has been somewhat decent.  I hit some good putts and the few I missed were not by much.  Even with the wet sand, I had two holes where I got up and down from traps (again, pretty good for me).  

At times, I find I have to remind myself that given everything I've been through, I'm not that bad and compared to my handicap peers (thanks Shot Scope), my overall game compares fairly well.  Even though I'm don't drive the ball too far, it's typically in the fairway.  So I picked up over 3/4 of a stroke on my drives.  That's about 0.5+ stroke better than last year.  My Achilles heel is my approach shots.  Because I'm short on drives, I hit fairway woods to par fours which historically leave me short of the green.  I'm left with chips, pitches and other short iron shots to the pin.  It shows in loosing a stroke.  For me to score, I need solid performances from my short game and putting.  Today, I picked up over 2.5 strokes from them.  

All in all, given the conditions, not too bad!

Had a good round this afternoon.  Driver is back to the line drive but is going straight.  Had a couple good holes that I hit it right.  Irons and putting were on today.  

This game cracks me up sometimes.  When you slow down and take it back to basics, it's pretty simple.  When you try to get quick or kill the ball, you pay dearly.

Pretty ridiculous round today. I shot a 38 on the front 9 and a 49 on the back. I got lazy with the driver on the back 9 and ended up OB 3 times, not great for ya boy…

The highlight which was pretty cool was on 13 I missed the fairway long and right and ended up on the 17 tee box. Luckily the group coming up to the box was just one guy playing, just one LIV TOUR PRO Eugenio Chacarra. He was really cool about it and urged me to play first, to which I managed to go over a tree with a full 60° wedge from 85 yards and stuck it. Super cool!

Oh sorry never done one figured since it was a real course I could look it up, and it anything given the system I was on I should get more strokes. A couple time I hit wedges that the system somehow read as having 2500 spin that cleared the green by 20 yards

No worries! When we decided to allow SIM rounds earlier in the season, we opted for the zero handicap because depending on the SIM, there are multiple ways to finish a hole. Some have you putt, others are strictly auto-putt, while yet others settle the out come with a proximity to the pin on a chip shot. With so much variance, we figured if everyone plays them as scratch it’s the fairest way to allow the scores. Coming up in season 3, there will most likely be a separate SIM league, so we will take another look at scoring then. All that to say, thanks for joining us!

The TM Qi10 LS came in clutch whenever I pulled it out of the bag. 

I feel like with my irons I could not miss. Every shot felt buttery with my irons. I had the time of my life out there playing yesterday.
