Bridgestone MindSet Golf Ball Testing - (Sampling and Shot Scope Ops)

Is there a separate thread for those testing the balls without Shot Scope data and those with? Or are we all grouped together?

I had to go back and read the test post:

“All selected testers must have at least 10 prior rounds recorded on their Shot Scope account. Testers will also be required to play a minimum of another 10 rounds with the Bridgestone Mindset golf ball during testing for comparison.”

I missed that in the original posting.  Definitely a unique opportunity, it will be interesting to see if there are improvements with the Mindset ball.

Come along and follow me in testing the NEW for 2024, " Mindset " Tour ball by Bridgestone...

I promise we will traverse through many terrains and overcome many obstacles along the way! 

From the depths of tall grass and sandy beaches,  to the rugged pinestraw valleys and firm fairways!

There isn't a spot on or off the course I can miss! I promise this adventure will never end!

With only 12 opportunities available,  will the Mindset help to free me of my critical thinking and troublesome ways?

In the beginning...

04/04/24 - I received a package when I got home, and my boss lady immediately asks, "You didn't buy MORE golfballs, did you? " I replied, "Nope! not this time anyway!" I then tucked them under my arm, and briskly walked into the kitchen and shredded the little brown box they came in...

Ta-Da !

This box was very different from the prototype balls mini-test I did with the new Tour B last year.  This one is shiny, and has these cute little dimples all over it... (I quietly shouted in my head, "YES! I got the consumer version!") You can read that test Here

I opened up the box, and there was a little card, qr code, and all of the ball peepers in the sleeves had these googly eyes staring at me! ( I think they were trying to hypnotize me!) Even the ball sleeves were dimpled!

stay tuned... as we will soon dive deeper into the " Mindset " behind these balls!

Im glad you got your gift , I bowed out of the Bridgestone Mindset golf balls testing , after some statements and a patronizing attitude from some of the other testers .

Got mine today. I'd almost forgotten about this test. And there is a second test for the Mindset balls, right? I'm so confused...

Anyway, hoping to get in a round next week after I get back from St. Louis and do the comparison with my Srixon Soft Feel.

There are going to be multiple Bridgestone ball tests.  I believe the first was 1 dozen balls and the second was 2 dozen and required the use of shotscope.

Yes - there is the “general” test - which is what this one is.  The other is the one the one where the testers have Shot Scope data they will test the Mindset against.

Mine came in today! I am planning to play on Sunday afternoon, so I will hopefully be able to put this ball up against the Vice Pro Plus, Callaway CSX LS, and a Snell MTB Prime X ball to see how it performs. Like many, I'm sure, I struggle to have the same swing thoughts each time and to focus/organize my thoughts before I hit. I've been trying to develop acronyms to help myself remember the essential things. I think the red, yellow, greed (stoplight!) and what each represents will be helpful. I especially like the idea of focusing on the green dot as I swing. I think it's helpful to take as many variables out as possible.

I have never played a new Bridgestone ball; I have found Bridgestone balls and played them (and subsequently lost them). I'm excited as much to try out a Bridgestone ball as I am to try out the Mindset tool. Perhaps this will be the beginning of a beautiful relationship!

Gonna follow along - I am 100% into the strategy & focus components, but ... for me personally and this is just me ... having the marking / reminder / mantra if you will printed on the ball loses a bit of its utility on the second (or third) shot to the green as odds are most of the time it won't be facing you and .. again, for me .. it seems those are the exact shots where I most need to slow down and focus (eg near green and greenside)...

So curious to see how others rate their experiences!

Took a few minutes and reviewed the mental purpose of the “MindSet” by Bridgestone. From the wider “pick your target” to mental focus will apply to the ball off the tee as well as on the green…

Good morning all,

I am excited to have been chosen to test the new Bridgestone Mindset golf ball.  I wanted to introduce myself and give everyone a bit of information about me and my game.  I am 71 years old and a semi-retired dentist.  I still enjoy going into the office and treatment planning complex cases with my younger partners.  For hobbies I golf (duh), ski and distance bike.  I have been playing golf since I was 9 or 10 but never took lessons until I was an adult.  I am still trying to break well ingrained bad habits LOL.  My handicap index is currently 12.9.

I walk 18 holes twice a week using my MGI Zip x5 caddy.  I started using Shot Scope last year for the ease of distance measurements and the analytics.  I used to use Arccos sensors, but prefer no annual fee.  My clubs are Callaway Paradym X Driver, 3 wood, 5 wood and 4 hybrid.  Irons are Miura CB 57 5-PW.  Wedges are Edison version 2 51, 55, 59.  Putter L.A.B. Mezz 1.  

I just finished 18 holes at my course, Simsbury Farms.  A brisk New England day... 45*, overcast with gusting winds.  Was nice to get inside!

Interesting point - what I am looking to gain is a "continued" thought process.  Use the mindset off the tee and on the green where I do have control of the ball's placement.  Let that process "then migrate" to the approach game...where as you note, only on that rare blue moon perfect lie with no wind on a cloudless day with a great line in  moment, will you have the mindset reminder is available.  Still going to be a fun test.
