The U.S Open 2024 - Thread

Record the b'cast, and start watching 15 minutes after it starts.  Then you can fast fwd thru commercials for first hour or longer.

This has got to be the most ridiculous broadcast schedule of any major championship. Is it USA, is it Peacock, is it NBC regular channel. Have to keep going to the USGA site to figure out where to watch the broadcast.

At +5 after today's round, Scottie Scheffler is right on the cut line and in danger of making the weekend.  

Just wondering if there's a Sampson and Delilia situation here?  He was doing great until he got his hair cut.  Coincidence?

Watching all these good shots hit and then roll off the green is just nuts. Cantlay just hit 3 chip shots to get a ball to stay on the green for a double bogey.

Its  pretty terrible. Them trying to force people to subscribe to peacock is ridiculous.

I'm enjoying play so far, especially since we live a couple hours from Pinehurst, and I play there once a year. It is nice to watch the pros on a course that they can't just birdie to death for a change, though that's fun too some times. Those turtleback greens are treacherous, and it appears they are giving the pros tougher pin placements than normal folks - any number of them have putted or chipped all the way across the greens. I hope Åberg wins now, but I'll be fine with whoever wins as long as it's not DeChambeau.

I'm probably in the minority but it's not fun for me to watch good shots just go off the back of the green.

Like watching basketball with a golf cup sized hoop or something. If I wanted to watch people miss the green I would record myself and watch it back

DeChambeau has been on fire at the majors this year. It’s looking like he’s his to lose. Rooting him and Rory on for a playoff.

Im sure the fan base finally being behind Bryson helps a lot.  I also think all the random content he’s been making playing with all these different types of clubs have helped his creativity on the course a bit which is something he’s really been lacking for years

Have really enjoyed the coverage of this year's Open. As ridiculous as the course is, it's good to see the creativity shine.

Rory really sh*t the bed there. Pretty poor short putt misses. I was surprised he didn’t take 3 wood on 18 to hit fairway rather than risking that rough again. Choking like that will take a toll on his mental game for future majors I’d imagine. 

Bryson’s scrambling was impressive. I’m glad for him- I like watching his YouTube content and collabs and he seems like a nice guy.

Unreal finish. Talk about great all time conclusions to a US open. My heart goes out to Mcilroy but Bryson was playing well and finished with an up and down, to seal it. Bryson, clearly a fan favourite, did what he had to do.

Sales of Epsom salt breaks records next week .  What a great, nail biting finish!  Bryson vs. Rory for the title.  Honestly, they could not have written a better script.
