Just ordered another 48 pack of Maxfli Tour X golf balls. Why, I don't know. I'm staring at 4 dozen unopened. Signed up for the emails and got them for $90. that's actually why.  I hate that they figured out how to tax the internet now.

Incredible recovery shots are set up by an equally incredible miss.

I just picked up a Taylormade Stealth2 3H to help round out the top of my bag. I was getting caught where the 4H wasn’t quite getting there and my 3W was a tad long. So now I have to figure out what leaves the bag.

I just upgraded from a 2019 P790UDI w/ a tour issue X100 steel shaft to a 2023 version with a UST Mayima Dart 105 graphite shaft....for $86 with tax off the used rack at PGA SS.  The old one is going online soon and will probably get me 25% more than the new one to pay for a few rounds of balls at least, and the graphite shaft is smoother and doesn't send as much nasty vibration up the arms as the X100 did.

I wanted to try a driving iron, so I purchased an inexpensive assembled one online from GolfEtail. Dynacraft #3 (21*) with an Apollo uniflex steel shaft. She's heading to the range tomorrow. Undoubtedly the grip will be swapped out soon. When I stated inexpensive it was $42.98 including tax and shipping.

Range update; well, as Lee Trevino once said "Not even God can hit a one iron" I'm consistently inconsistent with my new driving iron. I believe we just need some more one on one time together along with a new grip. 🤞

I have this iron and its actually quite good. I brought it out yesterday and was getting like 215 or so

Fnished the Indi Putter project and love it. I dropped lots of long putts yesterday. Shaft does seem more stable. Little less feel but still very good.

I have been toying with the idea of the stability but since I have been putting well it's hard to justify other then my. own curiosity. When you say a bit less feel. Do you think this is just because it's stiffer/less torque or because there is less vibration? I would think both would make mishits less noticeable but I guess that comes with making the mishits better as well.

Yes, the whole top of the stabilty shaft is like solid graphite and thick with 1 degree of torque and this all aluminum milled face putter was so soft to begin with, it hard to tell when you hit it off center. In theory less torque would lead to more feedback because the face is twisting less in impact  and the energy goes up the shaft. Not so with the BGT as the graphite is also a vibration damper.  I def had more feedback using the stock stepless shaft. I didnt notice it with the cleveland head which was a typical milled steel. So, if your putter face is very soft or like a white hot insert and youre a feel putter, may not be worth it. If you have a milled face scotty or Bettinardi, I can see it being a better fit or pairing, In fact if youre paying over $100, its just not worth it at all IMO. It is the tour model so its lighter than a steel shaft as well as their original model. So I also like the weighting less.

I have no idea how theyre getting away with the $200-375 I see them selling for. Speaking of Idea, these BGT shafts were invented by Barney Adams of original Adams golf fame and I am an adams fan so I like that. But If I didnt pay under 80 shipped for this shaft and new putter head, I wouldnt really reccomend it. I played 18 just this morning and while I played well, my putting was the poorest aspect and this is an incredibly forgiving mallet design so I dont know where the credit goes. Actually I do and its not the BGT cus I putted better without it, but lets give it more than 2 outings. As of now, I have the BGT and the UST frequency filtered on 2 putters and neither do anything noticably better than a regular shaft with a 50g counterweight that I typically install. Id have no problem selling it and putting an apollo stepless or KBS CT on it as it stands. See if you can demo it. What works for me may not for you however and I do seem to be slightly more consistant regarding squareness but having a harder time figuring out distance. I think I need a few more outings before I decide.

Mitsubishi Diamana ZF 60g R shaft for $80 w/shipping. Went into my Cobra RadSpeed XB 10.5* head. Played it for the first time yesterday and crushed it all day long. Best driver shaft fit for my swing that I've ever had. Need to book some sim time, because I'm curious about what my numbers are with it.

Youre not lying sir. Best shaft I ever used in my driver.

I was out ho-in’ around today. I recently bought (traded) an almost new Stealth 2 Plus driver. After a brief honeymoon period I gave the G430LST another try and there was no difference in distance, but the Ping was more forgiving and a touch higher. So I still had plenty of time to take back to 2nd Swing for full credit.

Hummmmm. I’m not going to find a driver that saves me strokes off the tee. I did notice that my older wedges weren’t spinning enough. So off I went this morning for a wedge fitting. I determined I wanted a 54&58 and the S Grind. The SM10’s fairly expensive. But I was prepared to pay that until I found some new in the plastic SM9’s that were $100-160 cheaper for the pair. So I traded the Stealth and still have credit.

MGA Championship this weekend so off to the short game practice area tomorrow morning.

Out of curiosity, why the S grind? What made it a good fit for you?

Yeah I don’t doubt the technology behind it. It more of what you are getting at, is it enough of a benefit for the money. They keeP tempting me with the masters additions as green is my favorite color.  Were you able to use the counter weight with it? That’s been another thing for me is I have a Edel putter and have 2, one at the bottom and one at the top of the grip.

I dont think so. The typical counterweights dont fit in the graphite on top as its almost solid graphite. Only thing I can think of is something like a gravity grip as the superstroke counterweights wont fit either. It may be different with the non-tour model. Again, they def look cool, and Im sure there are benefits, but I cant justify the actual cost. Get a good deal and why not. If you have a double bend or a single bend, you have to cut your shaft and fit it into the graphite section as they only sell straight tips as well. So, you can def add weight to your cut shaft before installing it, but not in the typical way. More like cork n tungston powder.

Bought myself that is a used, kind of like new condition SQAIRZ Arrow shoes for $41 off PoshMark. They don't look too used at all. I think this was a steal. Always wanted to try them and with my current shoes having duct tape on the back since the heels are worn (and tore up my Achillies) had to bite. Excited to try them on the range this weekend and hopefully a round on Tuesday.
