I  am literally obsessed with looking at stuff at the moment, bought a tee bag, new ball marker and pitch repair tools, looking at putters and wedges at the moment, back of my mind I keep wanting to buy the G410 3 wood and 5 wood just because of how much I like hitting them. EBAY and Facebook marketplace are a dangerous place at the moment, annoyingly there aren't any discount shops for clubs near me in the UK

I imagine I will be replying to this thread very soon!

My new sand wedge from Sub 70 arrived while I was at n Las Vegas, thankfully my Father lives just down the street and was able to grab it for me until I arrived back at home.

Sub 70 JB Forged Full Groove 54° to match the 58° that I had bought a few weeks ago. Project X LZ 6.0 shaft and Golf Pride MCC midsize grip.

Also picked up a towel and alignment stick cover while I was at it.

Just bought and fitted the new Golf Pride Reverse Taper pistol grip for my putter. It definitely does what it says on the tin and has already reduced the dispersion on my putter launch direction quite significantly according to data on my Exputt

I have been looking to purchase this grip but I keep hearing it will not be available till april. Do you have some additional details you can share on purchasing now?

This article on the robot test with 3 woods is what I have personally experienced. The PXG Black Ops 3 wood I put in the bag with the Hzrdus Smoke Yellow X-Stiif 6.5 shaft has been outstanding. While I did not really gain any distance over the Gen 5, 3 wood the dispersion is superior. I don’t have any real big misses with this club. I can work it both ways and hit it dead straight. The ball jumps off the club and I can really go after it without fear. This is a great 3 wood for me!

I hit that at my PXG fitting, but only briefly, but that thing is a ROCKET.  My main concern was that it's built to be low-spin, and I'm already a low-spin player, but man I was surprised at just how easy it was to hit.  I actually just picked up a new 3/5 wood (see below post, lol) for a crazy good deal, but if they don't work out, I may end up back at a PXG fitting to do it right 😉

Driver - PXG 0811 XF - Gen 5, 9 degrees (+1 setting), Oban Devotion TR 65 04
3/5 Wood - Cobra LTDx Max (Blue Colorway)
Utility - Caley X01 Driving Iron (3 = 18*)
Irons (5-PW) - Caley 01T
Wedges (48, 52, 56, 60) - Indi Wedges FLX 48 / ATK 52, 56, 60
Putter - L.A.B. Directed Force 2.1 - 65*

So, I've been on the hunt for a 3/5 wood option to fill out the top of my bag.  From a fitting (and then several subsequent trips into big-box stores) last year, I know I prefer the shallow-faced look at address, as well as the ease of launching.  Managed to snag both a 3 and a 5-wood with the HZRDUS Smoke iM10 (mid), with a 10% coupon AND I $150(ish) worth of trade in (a Cobra Speedzone driver and a Cobra King Tec Utility (2 iron)), which means my grand total was almost exactly $150, including taxes.  So...I feel like I kind of got away with something 🙂 SUPER excited to get these out onto the course/range, and improve that side of my bag - the "Warrior" clubs I got scammed into many moons ago are just not cutting it 😉 I'll post some photos once these bad boys arrive 🙂

I absolutely loved my LTDx Max 3W. It was such an easy to hit club and allowed for me to really go after Par 5’s with it. Hope you have the same success with it as I did.

I agree it is a rocket and easy to hit! I think it fit me perfectly because I seek low spin. The ball jumps off the face with a purpose!

They are hybrid shafts in the utility builds. I have the U505 2i with the HZRDOUS Black hybrid 85g.

I bought a fitting at Collindale in Fort Collins CO. Ping has the fitter as the fitter of the year so I am excited to see where I am at and if all the other fitters I've seen over the years are in line with what this fitter comes up with. Who knows, this may lead to a purchase, depending on make-up and price. If he says Project X LZ shafts or Project X IO shafts I am sold! I am not buying a driver though. 😬

I could play golf every day and learn something new each time.

Driver: Callaway Paradym TD 9* Driver-5 Dot Newton tipped 45” shaft

I threw a a random Tour velvet jumbo on my practice 8 iron and loved it so ventured into Roger Dunn to get some grips to do a full iron swap out.  Leaving my wedges as is for feel purposes.  I should mention that I was wearing flip flops specifically because I didn't want to test anything...  but while I was there.... Long story short I did some barefoot testing.

I found a gen 4 PXG 0311XF 3 wood for $99. The 0211 I currently have is easy to hit, but like the 0211 driver doesn't have much go.   Too spinny I think?   Because of this it's basically dead weight since it's distance total is not much more than a well struck 18 degree hybrid I already have in the bag.   After a bit of tweaking and a borrowed tensei blue (from a gen 6) I saw the numbers I was hoping for across multiple swings and pulled the trigger.  It seemed to be as easy to hit as the 0211 with more get up and go (along with more adjustability.).  I turned it down to 14.5° and mated it to a tensei CK orange I have which should send it a little beyond the yardage I'm hoping for. We'll see whether it performs out on the course.

Nice wedges.  Let us know what you think once you've had a chance to use them.

I bought a used combo set of Maltby irons (TS1/TS2) in February that are in excellent condition.  Can't wait for the courses here to open in mid to late April so I can take them out for some rounds.

Maltby Irons 03.jpg

havent been able to full swing them or use them on the course yet, but messing around with them in my yard they're feeling great! Not digging in, able to spin/ stop the ball on my little 10 ft putting green, no complaints so far!

Current bag:

Cobra Speedzone Xtreme with Fujikura Motore X F1 6S

Cobra Speedzone 3 wood

Taylormade Stealth 2 5-hybrid
