What do you think? I think this is a fine marketing idea. They'll use the Goat to boost ball sales.

I was gonna ask what stops you from just personalizing the Tour B XS with "Tiger" for cheaper, but apparently only the Tour B RX can be personalized through retailers... huh. Bet they sell pretty well.

Nike used to have “TW” series balls as well as “DD” (David Duval) didn't they? Am I dreaming that? IIRC they were supposedly the same compression etc that Tiger & DoubleD played on tour.

You are not, the Nike Tour Accuracy came in DD and TW. My younger self much preferred the DD version of the ball. I remember being young and buying balls on tour player promotion (Dunlop Loco Pro anyone?), so this is gonna work well.

I do find it a bit ironic that Bridgestone is promoting ball fitting, but then offers the Tiger ball for everyone to buy.

 

Shouldn't' the average golfer be buying the "Insert name here" ball.

 

Smart marketing undoubtedly, but another example of people not basing purchases on facts, rather marketing spin.

 

Just to be a smart ass, I take it the picture on the box wasn't taken after a win, or did they photoshop out a Nike or Titleist ball?
