Movies seen recently?

I saw ready player one today- have to admit I loved it- it was everything a real gamer (who grew up with basic games) aspired to. Well written, good story, great CGI and I could hardly find any fault (unlike star wars that was full of holes).

Well, my lady and I are seeing the new horror flick The Quiet Place tomorrow. Last movie I went to was Best F®iends, Volume One, the film reuniting the stars of the cult classic The Room, Tommy Wiseau and Greg Sestero. Can't wait for Volume Two in June.

Did you by chance read the book?  I've read it twice and love it, just wondering how the movie holds up if you've read it.

 

As for movies I've seen, Anything and everything Marvel.  So Black Panther was the last and it was amazing.  Can't wait for Infinity War

I hear ya brother! after bed time is adult movies (no not that kind) just the ones where you dont watch what you say and a 'slap' is a 2 by 4 across the skull by Arnie or Bruce lol

4 & 7yr old boys here.  I've seen every animated show and movie for the past 6 years.  Over the past few months they are finally getting in to some non-animated movies.  It's so fun watching the marvel movies and star wars with them.

When my kids were little it was “SPIRIT: STALLION OF THE CIMMARON. We wore out 2 vhs tapes and 1 DVD. We still watch on occasion today.

It very generally followed the book, however don't go in expecting anything more. That being said, they did a great job taking the theme and key parts of the book and making a really fun movie. You'll enjoy it!

Another one here for an animated movie junkie. Two young girls will do that to a fella. Lately we've been on a rotation of Wreck-it Ralph, Chipmunks, Ferdinand, and Coco. I've seen it like 50 times and am only recently at the point where I don't have to worry about someone cutting onions in the room at the end of Coco. What an awesome movie, definitely deserved the Oscar it won.

 

In theaters, the misses and I last saw the 1517 to Paris. Awful movie. Don't recommend it under any circumstance unless you enjoy having your friends hijack your afternoon to show you vacation photos.

 

I've seen a few movies on HBO too. Since my kids dominate the TV, I have to watch my stuff in pieces either early/late or during naps. Finally saw the Aviator. Great flick, thoroughly enjoyed it. It's the way of the future. Way of the future. This will be the way of the future. Way of the future. The future. The future. These are the way of the future.........

Watched 'Insidious: The last key' the other day. That was terrifying! Love all of those movies in the series.

Dunkirk was appalling- story jumped around, acting poor etc etc even my 12 yr old said it was dull- pity as the Director is good and a decent cast...even Harry Styles was ok.

Fortunately my grandson loves the Star Wars movies (with "Darth Mader") so at least I can watch something that's not animated.

there are actually two movies that deal with Churchill that came out around same time. Oldmans was better, but the other one wasn't terrible with Brian Cox

A few dozen and one. Haven't seen it, and no intention to. Nothing I hate more then superhero type movies. I gave up comic books decades ago.

I watched four movies yesterday, on a 10 hour flight.

 

For Christmas, my wife got me 3 months on Movie Pass. For around $10 a month, I can go to one movie a day. The app and membership worked well in both Iowa and Florida. My wife and I went to a couple of movies a week over the winter. The pass let us go to the movies we really wanted to see plus go to movies that we were interested in but would have waited to see on video without the pass.
