The Good Morning Thread

Good early afternoon Friday, Spies!  I just returned from the course where it was a beautiful morning.  Carts were not allowed this morning due to yesterday's rain, so we walkers had the course to ourselves.  Another round in with the Toura CB irons and I am really liking them.  I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Not morning but hello spies, what a crazy week and a half. Between work and a whole bunch of other things I havnt had any time to take a breathe let alone hit the course. Today the first day to settle down but working this afternoon. We have some beautiful weather that looks to last for the next few days at least. Hope everyone has been well and have a fantastic rest of the day!

It’s still morning here for another 25 minutes,,, so Good Morning everyone!!  I haven’t been on much the past few days; wonder what I missed.  I’ll have to go back and check it out.  I played my birthday round of golf on Tuesday and had a wonderful Italian/Spanish dinner.  However on Wednesday night, I started to get sick; really bad sore throat and cough (bad combination).  Couldn’t sleep; ended up in my recliner for two nights and never got more than 45 minutes of shut-eye.  My wife convinced me to go to minor emergency this morning, since we leave on Wednesday for our drive across the country to Kingsmill.  The doc tested me for strep and covid; I’ve never had covid so don’t really know what the symptoms are.  Test were negative… Yay!  But I have a sinus infection.  Been pretty weak the past few days; haven’t even picked up a club.

Hope your day is going better than mine, and you are out of the storm’s harms way.

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share some exciting news in the Morning Thread (even if it’s more an evening news )

I've just received my new SM10 wedges! Just in time as I'm gearing up for a team of 4 scramble tournament tomorrow. 

I can't wait to see how these beauties perform on the course and hopefully help us snag some good scores.

It's going to be a great test of their capabilities right out of the gate.

Good morning MGSpies on an overcast to start Saturday here in WNY - first job getting a bearing axle seal as the last part necessary for small trailer repair, then hauling mulch for the yard before the HD sale is off.  Golf yesterday was in the rain with very few who also think golf in the rain is a good idea.  So far this year 9 holes have been between 50 and 55 but yesterday hit 47 reaching par 5 greens in 4, that has not happened since 2023.  Time to see where the day takes me and hope golf is a part of your day

Well, can't say I didn't give it the 'ole college try. Got up with the dawn patrol as usual for weekend tee times, and it was overcast and the air was very heavy. Got to the course about 0545 hours and was greeted with a light rain. So, I figured I'd roll a few putts on the practice green: checked the radar and it looked like we might have that opening in the radar...
You know how it is: I'll get there, warm up and "sneak in 9 holes." Ha ha ha ha ha!!! Mother Nature again.... she just loves doing this. I'd take and send a picture, but I don't want to depress anyone. The opening in the radar closed up to green very fast and even added some yellows and oranges. Nothing like y'all get in the midwest, mind you, but certainly enough to grab the putter and pack it in for the day. No sneaking in 9 today! We'll try this again tomorrow...

Good morning Spies on a very hazy Saturday morning here in the Motor City.

First, Happy Birthday wishes to @Steve F, and hoping that both @GolfSpy_APH and @Corentin Vadillo have enjoyable days and great results in their respective events.   

Supposed to be sunny and warmer later, so hoping to get some outdoor things completed around the house today, so golf for me is scheduled for tomorrow.

Went to a musical play at Meadowbrook Theater at Oakland University last night and will post about that in the Random Thread. Was a "Classic Car" night event too.

Hope that your day is the best it can be, and that something enjoyable is in your plans.

Morning All,

 

Rain is falling pretty good and looks like maybe a clearing around 11. I think I’ll let my body heal though. I can feel my upper back feeling tight. That might be due to the fact that I did do all the obstacles in our obstacle course at work, and then played 18 holes in the scramble yesterday. If I was a younger self, I’d probably be out playing in the rain today. Now I’m listening to the body. Gotta start at some point right? Anyhow, hope everyone has a great day. Got chickens to go check on.

Good morning everyone! 

It's a wet morning here in SE TN with the rains that came through last night and there's more predicted for today. Why is it we get the best weather during the week when we're stuck having to do our jobs? 

Today is going to be a day hanging out with my wife and running errands. I might hit up a couple of places looking for golf apparel. Right now I'm trying to find a rain jacket to pack for Kingsmill on the cheap. I have one I used to use for hunting and fishing but it doesn't breathe too well and I get sweaty. 

If you're playing golf today, I hope you hit them well and score low. If not, I hope you have an enjoyable Saturday!
