Good morning Spies!

Getting ready to head out shortly to meet @Indy_Oz at Purdue University to play their Ackerman-Allen course. This will be my first official Spy Meetup (sorry @Swood1994, you don't count ) and a good opportunity to test out the TaylorMade irons together. Weather should be perfect and there's no better place to spend a day than on a nice golf course with good company.

Not much planned for the rest of the day. Will likely be laying low after the commute and golf, watching some college football and prepping for another round of golf tomorrow morning. Hope everyone has a great Saturday and if you're lucky enough to be golfing, hit 'em straight!

A fine good morning to all. Beautiful October morning here in the greater Toronto area.  Enjoying my morning espresso with the huskies at my feet. Enjoyed seeing all the Northern lights photos.  For those who are interested. The Phil Kenyon 5 day putting challenge continues. The last few days have been very good focussing on proper setup and alignment with some good drills. Link for Day 4 below.

Going to be a beautiful start to what is going to be a hot day. The CEO has me scheduled for another wonderful day at a craft show... Got her all set up last night after GC duties.  One more of these events next weekend and then I get a two week break before her next one!

Good morning Spies! I sent video of my atrocious swing off to Aki at Newton Golf and we have my virtual fitting scheduled for Monday morning. After which I head out for a four-day work trip. Hoping the shaft will arrive by the time I get home Thursday. I'm excited to get going with the test and hope my shoulder will cooperate.

@sirchunksalot hoping your wife gets good news on the biopsy report, and if not, that it is BCC, the least dangerous kind. I was fortunate enough to have BCC, but keratoses have been known to turn into SCC, which is more dangerous, and I had keratoses as well. Thus my annual visit to the derm for a skin scan.

Hoping to get out and hit some balls later. Since my school has an open date today, no must-see college football for me.

Uppa with a cuppa on this lovely Fall morning in Central NY. Celebrating 33 years with my most amazing wife. She has blessed me beyond merit and measure. I will be making lasagna for dinner tonight and we will open a nice bottle of wine.

Fall yard work is on tap for the day. Installed the new Loop-loc pool cover yesterday. Pool ownership can get pricey.

Good morning MGSpies from the quiet of a still sleeping house where children have all grown to adults with only one remaining here.  Coffee is just the thing listening to sleeping MyGolfSpouse and corgis, reading forum and enjoying thoughts of golf "out there" with fellow Spies and one in particular @The1C3man for the round we had yesterday in cool but ideal conditions if a good 20 mph breeze/wind counts, we were certain with our golf that we would have no idea what part of the path of the  ball had anything to do with air movement.  And funny you should give me a segue Josh,

we were saying on the way to our 6th tee shots at the green's edge how we could post every one of our rounds as a Meetup and drive everyone crazy about it since we play so frequently - so decided that "Meetup" means with those we do not regularly see so a once or twice a year might classify as Meetup but more frequent rounds would just be more golf.

@BIG STU would love to hear the story about the reconditioned push cart 

Today will be getting to house jobs being the last dry day in the forecast for most of the rest of the week.  Grass needs cutting, October air means the air conditioner can be winterized and the patio can begin to be prepared for the winter edition of everything turned into a neat stack covered with weighted tarp where blustery conditions will not disturb what remains outdoors.

Hope golf is a part of your day.

Great that you were able to get together Bill, @fixyurdivot and Rob, @Rob Person. Kind fo figured the shoes belonged to Rob previously, go along with is personality.

I played a no count round yesterday, due to closed green on the first 6 holes, but the weather was perfect, and I posted some pictures in the How Did You Play thread.

No golf for me today, going to Stahl's Auto Museum here to treat the Trick or Treaters for their annual Halloween Open House. Usually, this place is only open a few days per month, free to the public, and a lot of great historic items to see and interact with some of them. SWMBO is going dressed as a witch, my attire is yet to be determined.

Hope all here have the best day they possibly can, and that something enjoyable is in your plans or today and the weekend.

Good Saturday Morning Spies! 

A beautiful fall Central Florida morning, 71 degrees with a high of 82, wow! Hurricane Milton brought in cooler weather! Getting ready for 2nd cup of espresso, slept in this morning. Golf course still closed, reopens tomorrow morning.  Today is a good opportunity to also send Newton Golf swing video’s.  Excited about this testing!

Happy Saturday morning.  Cleanups going on everywhere. The 3 golf  courses near us are furiously working on cleanup & dryout.  No golf for us now. 
Next on agenda is getting roof repair or replaced.

We're hoping it's either keratosis or bcc and we're pretty confident since she caught it early it won't be too bad. I appreciate all the information, Jeff!

Good morning spies! I really like the Frankencart @Rob Person and was the Judge brutal hard because it is brutal hard or because it is full of blind shots. There is a Jack Nicklaus course in the Bend Oregon area called Pronghorn. Fun course but the first time or two I played there it was very hard because of the blind shots. Hit up over a hill only to find the fairway dogged hard right and your golf ball is out in the desert rocks. 

No golf yet...bummer. But no Excessive Heat warning either. First time in a while. 

So it is bike riding and wood carving a sinister pumpkin for my wife and her Halloween stuff.

Hit them straight if you get to play today!

Good morning, Spies!! Happy Saturday!

Senior Night for Ian today. He's the starting keeper and getting ready to play the final regular season game of his career. He ll have a tournament game, but this one is always special. They were for me.

Then it's back for the OSU v Oregon game, and packing. On the road tomorrow morning for home. As much as I've enjoyed this time with my sister and nephews, I'm looking forward to getting home and getting back to my normal.

The front 9 is not "hard" but challenging.  The back 9 is hard and challenging due to needing fairly accurate shot placements.  Lots of marsh, thick rough, narrow and sloping fairways leaning to,  and over water,  and super tricky greens. (Like shown in my picture video)

Kind of an ugly morning outside and it looks like it will stay that way through the day. Tee time at 3:20 today at California Country Club with a buddy who is a member. They lay out of the course looks pretty open so it should be a fun round. 

Gonna go relax before it's time to get ready and head out, hope everybody has a great Saturday and weekend!

Morning All,

hooe everyone is having a great start to their Saturday. The wife and I are going to walk to downtown Cusco today and try and find the 12 sided stone. Below are my favorite pics from Machu Picchu I took. 

This one is one of the flowering plants that is blooming from the rocks. There’s no soil in between just the substance they used that is like mortar. 

This was looking back up at the sun temple that is now off limits due to the amount of people that would attempt to paint the walls on the inside. 

you have to use a little bit of imagination here. But this is the condor they made to sacrifice llamas. On the bottom you kind of see the head and the small troughs around it allowed the blood to flow from it down to the neck ring and then back to the left into the cave. They found a lot of llama bones in that cave. 

This was an altar where they would bring the sacrificed llama, the windows at the top were where they put certain body pieces arts from the llama. 

This is looking down into the main portion of Machu Picchu. The mountain that is right behind it on the left was for a lookout. More on that in the next picture. 

The locals have a race to see who can get to the top of the mountain and back in the fastest time. It is roughly a one mile trek up a heavily overgrown trail. Our guide said the record is 42 minutes. There is roughly about a 500 foot elevation change between this sign and the top.

Going to the “Pumpkin Patch” today.  Shorts, sandals, and a tee shirt.  This is some sort of record.  103 days in a row wearing shorts.  I will continue the tradition of carving the exact same face in the pumpkin as I have for the past 17 years.  There have been minor tweaks, but it’s mostly the same.  
 

Hit them far, on your intended line, and make par. (I need to copyright that.) no one steal it, or I will have to lawyer up.

Completely random thing I found out recently. Apparently the grandfather of my FIL was a bit of a golfer himself. We even found a picture of him with this guy. 

Had to look it up to find out this was Jim Dent playing with him back at the Bing Crosby Pro-Am.

Hadn't planned on getting to the course today but got told to get out of the house for a while, so . . .  A whole gaggle of carts lining up at the first tee but was told the back nine was wide open so I grabbed 7-8-9 irons and putter, a few balls, and off I went.  When they said it was wide open, they weren't kidding -- I saw one twosome until I was on #17!  Fooled around with each club on the first few holes and then decided to just play a single ball for the best score I could get.  On #15, a 460 yd. dogleg right, I hit a 7-iron into the fairway -- I usually try to force a cut with a wood off that tee with predictably bad results.  The next shot was another 7-iron after which I said -- probably out loud -- "Now that's how a 7-iron should be hit!"  I'm sure the rest of my year will be spent trying to recapture that swing/feeling/result.

Hope everyone in the paths of Helene and Milton are safe and recovery is going well.  Watch out for the hucksters and scammers who inevitably follow in the wake of natural disasters.  Peace.

Had an absolute blast yesterday! While I wasn't able to get a tee time matched up with Bill and Mike, we did get to spend some time together before and after our respective rounds. (Lordy knows I tried to finagle one together!)

@fixyurdivot is both great company and a good person to interact with!

I did manage to secure a tee time for myself last minute thankfully though. (Wasnt going to waste the opportunity after a 3 hour drive)

I played The Judge!  Man that's a brutal course! Barely scraped by an 89.

Great video clips Rob .  We made it home as did our bags.  Most importantly, the clubs... we have group play on Monday .  To anyone that's been thinking about the RTJ Trail and hasn't, Just do it!!
