The Good Morning Thread

Good Morning everyone!  My wife and I are playing with a couple that are here visiting after moving to Colorado last year.  Good friends that I started playing golf with many, many years ago.  

Our course is still closed, so we are playing at another course in town (the one where I used to play Wolf).  It's been renovated since I was last there so not sure what to expect.  It's one of the courses I'm considering a move to next year, so this will be sort of an "interview".  

Everyone have a great Monday, and remember those that perished in the 9/11 attacks as well as the First Responders that suffered for many years after.

Back to work after an enjoyable weekend. Weather is gloomy but I have my Buffalo Bills playing in Monday Night Football, so that's something to look forward to. Coffee in hand and ready to take on the day.

Good morning everyone, first round of playoffs are today, weather looks fantastic mid 70s and sunny hope my golf game is just as nice. Everyone hope your day is fantastic.

Back to the weekly grind, but before I do, I reminisce. I was fishing on a pond outside Waynesville, OH 22-years ago when I heard the sonic boom of fighter jets taking off from Wright Patterson Airforce Base. I found out about 30-minutes later that the country was under attack. Yesterday evening after getting to spend the day playing 18 and watching my kid's soccer game I sat down as I do every year and watched the 9/11 special on 60-minutes. As a retired first responder and an American my heart hurts for those who mourn their father, mother, daughter, or son that was taken that day. I was priveleged to visit the 9/11 muesuem a few years back and to say it was an emotional experience is an understatement. May we never forget how we felt that day and how we all came together as Americans to support one another!

Good: got to play golf yesterday

Bad: Felt terrible after golf; more tests this week to see if we can figure out what is going on.  Even worse, Bears don’t look too good and not sure there is a fix

Good morning all and happy Monday! Good mail delivery day for me today as my AirPod Pro's are set to arrive as well as two additional pairs of Primo golf joggers. If you're into the jogger style pant,  I cannot say enough good things about Primo. Very much looking forward to the new headphones as my current ones do not stay put in my ears when I am working out. Will struggle with them once more today and then they will be retired!

Dreary, cloudy day today and we finally got some rain last night. The rest of the week looks beautiful and looking forward to week two of the Match Play event! Most likely getting my round in Friday afternoon or an early AM round Saturday to kick off the weekend.

Overcast and drizzly in Central NY. But this Niners fan feels like the sun is shining. They played a “Purdy Good” game against the Steelers. Coffee onboard and the dog is walked walked. Asking for prayers and positive vibes for my son. He takes his nursing boards today.

Top of the pot spies .  Just back from walking River on a slightly cooler and overcast day. Monday group today at 1015, so the cooler temp is welcomed.  As the years roll along, it is easy to do so... but never forget.  Have a great day.

also gave these plugs a try last night.... 10/10.  I could hear everything perfectly and my ears arnt ringing today.  absolute game changer if you havnt ever gotten high fidelity plugs before (from anyone that makes em) do it.  Its silly how good they are.

I could have used those in 1980. My ears are still ringing from a Cheap Trick concert.

Agreed; NEVER forget. I was on a plane on 9/11/01. Surreal doesn’t begin to describe that day. Flying today; I’ve coincidentally flown probably 18-19 of the 22 9/11’s since that day.

Definitely one of those moments where you will never forget where you were that day. I was in 6th grade and as I went to a small catholic elementary school, we had one teacher who led all lessons. We were in the middle of math when another teacher came in and told us that we needed to come into the library/computer room area. We were watching live coverage when the south tower was struck, and a student in the 7th grade class had a relative that worked in one of the towers. Fortunately, his relative survived. As a 12 year old, I was certainly old enough to understand what was happening, but still remember a pure feeling of fear based on the reactions of our teachers. Never forget.

Good morning everyone. High temps should be in the mid 70s - low 80s this week which is very much welcomed.  Had a little rain fall last night which was nice. Will not impact the grass much but, I’ll take it. Hoping to get out for 18 after work today so fingers crossed for that.

I agree with Sam here................................. all roads to the NFC North title this year seem to run through Detroit  

Bears play yesterday looked like they already were heading for the first pick in next years draft.

... How about it? The difference between the Lions/Chiefs and Bears/Packers was staggering. And the Vikings won't have fairy dust sprinkled on them in one score games. The NFC is all about the Lions and then who has a shot at a wild card or the #1 pick. I gotta say, it it ain't the Bears, I'm glad it's the Lions because their loyal fan base certainly deserve it.

I was working that day in Russia, and after work our group went to the lounge in the Marriott and watched the first tower burning, then saw the plane hit the second tower.  Some of our people were stranded in Moscow and had to get an emergency extension of their visa.  I was there for another week, but when I flew home 2 weeks later, our plane was diverted from JFK to Newark and had to be bussed to JFK to catch our flight to SLC.  Spent the night in SLC because we missed our next flight.  Flying has been a crap shoot ever since IMO.

Well,I shot 40 in the playoffs and I made the finals next week. There will be 4 players in my flight and we have to play in the Same group. Have a wonderful day everyone.

It is Tuesday my friends… Tuesday’s claim to fame is that it isn’t Monday.    
   Speaking of Monday; I had to quit after two holes on Monday. Could never figure out how to hold the golf club while wearing snow mittens. As bad as it was on the course, after calling a halt to my round it was as bad or worst while I was attempting to drown my sorrows and engage in hydration at the same time. It was nearly impossible to drink with those snow mittens on. I should have never let the wife tape them on.      Well it’s a new day and day one of NO single individual play allowed. Will be interesting to see who ends up playing with who…..Not a fan of these cutesy posters that are up in the pro shop and locker room. 
   May your day be like a 3 inch putt.. A gimme.

My wife has been getting up before 5 to get ready for school .. her alarm used to go off at 5 .. and now I guess I'm awake, too...

Maybe a little practice time later. Haven't played since Thursday afternoon and the wedge game needs some work. A lotta work. And then gotta do some grocery shopping - the beer fridge is critically low! Busy day ahead
