Another dreary Monday morning. Not sure if I am living in Ohio or Seattle at this point. 

Actually went to the sheltered driving range to hit some balls yesterday. Couldn’t believe that there were so few of us out.  I mean, maybe it was the driving rain and crosswind of 20 mph. Or the 35 degree temps. Not really sure. But, there were a few of us dedicated to hitting balls. I was working on just ball contact. It was an awesome practice. I seem to hit everything flush. When I “tried” to draw the ball, it still ended up a slight fade because of wind. A severe hook straightened out to be fine. Was actually a pretty good training day to practice the knock down shots. Came outta that session as a scratch golfer I did!  - and a cold one to boot.

Lots of meetings and training scheduled this week. 

Today is National Bubble Wrap Day - so, get yourself some bubble wrap and casually walk around the office snapping it…one….bubble…at….a….time. You will be surprised how many new friends you might make! No, really. 

Have a grand day all and pray for the fiery orb of life  to once again show itself to warm the lands of our forefathers.

Okay, who knew there was a national day calendar?  Turns out, it’s also national corn chip day (seriously) and national puzzle day. So, I’ve decided to do this favourite puzzle while eating my Dorito’s, but I’m not wearing bubble wrap

Good Morning everyone!  Dense fog this morning until noon, but if it lifts be noon as forecasted, it should be another sunny 48º afternoon.  Monday morning workout... thanks @Jnoble89 for the great article!

The walk yesterday along the river was nice, and if the sun comes out, I'm doing it again!  If I can't play golf, at least I can get in shape to walk when the course opens.

Good morning spy's, and a beautiful morning it is...

11 degrees and no rain until 5 pm... getting ready to go to a 915 PST tee off, better get going, but I wanted to post a thought I am having.

One of the reasons I enjoy MGS is the depth of ideas about the golf swing that are out there, a few actually stick with me and I am working on a byproduct of a debate I have had just recently. And excited about the results...

The post "should you take lessons 1 on 1 or group lessons" got me thinking, I replied to it and then got verbal diarrhea so jumped over to "good morning" lol.

Anyway will post how my day went later today and try and read some stuff on MGS during the day have a good one everyone...

Good morning everyone.  Been a busy morning.  Got my morning tasks completed, been to the hospital for pre-op bloodwork (got a pretty red armband that I have to wear), and catching up on the forum between work tasks and emails.

I still find it hard to believe you actually work!  I thought Most Wanted testing and golfer were you jobs!

Good morning all! hope all had a good weekend. I know i did. Friday was  an absolute blast in Kentucky, found some good bottles of bourbon, and took a really good tour at Makers Mark. Then yesterday was my daughters 1st birthday party! that was fun but stressful! she is a hoot! nearly killed the whole smash cake!

Most wanted tester is my volunteer time to provide helpful information to golfed worldwide   I don’t make enough to support the family as a golfer so I have to do something to pay the bills.    I have told Adam that when I retire I am coming to work at HQ.

Need something to keep the spouses/significant others busy/not complaining. Which in the case of my GF would probably be a gym, a pool and a tanning bed.

Good (late) morning Spies!

It was a good weekend for me.  Lots of time with FABWIFE which is always fun.  We went to a huge flea market on Saturday (a favorite pastime), one with 98% crap and 2% small treasure.  I had in hand a new looking Jones Sunday bag with vintage Wilson Staff irons, but the bag was pink/purple and after investigating the clubs they were all cut down to ladies' sizes.  Some lady sold a really nice set of irons and a killer bag!  And some other lady is going to end up with a super nice set when that comes home!

It rained for about four days straight here, so my plan for Sunday golf was a washout.  Hoping for later this week . . .

I hope you feel better quickly @CSiders12!  Watch that closely.

Great article @Jnoble89!  Mobility training is exactly what I need, and I intend to work that in.  Much appreciated.

Good morning spies!

It happens to be another beautiful morning in Long Beach this morning. No class until 6pm today so that means hitting the range and practice area today for a bit. Going to practice on NOT using the mat to propel the ball upwards, because it definitely does not translate to consistency on the course besides that it is just too nice to stay inside today. I hope you all get to get out of the house more this week as the weather seems to be trending upward for most!

Speaking of Momma being happy (even if she's only the momma for her cats): GF has ordered a bunch of fitness equipment, which is part of the reason I may have to scale back my golf sim plans for a while. I can't complain because I will get some benefit out of the fitness equipment too and that will help my golf. Anyway, part of her order was a treadmill. At first she thought the treadmill was coming tomorrow. Then about 11 a.m. she found out it would arrive today. Then at 11:15 it was here. I frequently describe GF as "(redacted) going on 10" because of her childlike enthusiasm. She showed that today bigtime. She was like a kid on Christmas morning, or a Spy who gets his new equipment to test.

@Michael.Sandoval33 have you established the handicap yet?

I used to feel the exact same way about Sheetrock but eventually I became fairly good at it and now, dare I say, I almost look forward to it. It’s usually a good sign that the project is nearing completion.

Good morning a bit late Spies,

The gray of "Drearycuse" is getting to me. I've been getting my running workouts in but definitely need the sunshine. Last night's NFC Championship Game was crazy but was most happy with the outcome. The Niners appeared out of it in the first half. But glad to see Purdy stepped it up in the second half. I am happy for my 83-year-old dad. He was a long-time 49er season ticket holder during their heyday in the Candlestick Park years. They certainly have their work cut out for them against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. But they have a quarterback this time who isn't afraid to get the ball down field and doesn't gag when forced out of the pocket.

Alright I am in the saddle again for work and a mountain awaits me. One step at a time right? Had to pause and check the thread this morning, and I have to agree with the football outcomes being....less than desirable. Mainly because I really don't care to see another camera pointing at Taylor Swift during a football game. It's just so annoying. Might actually skip watching the game and do something more fun.

Anyways, on to golfing related thoughts of which I have only a few. Really enjoying checking out all the tech and gadgets from the PGA Show last week. I am also working on some balance exercises. I noticed if i get quick or accelerate at the wrong time i fall off the balls of my feet. I also will have to start conditioning a bit if I am to start playing in the golf league I am aiming for in April.

Good morning all on this cold breezy day with a few snow showers thrown in. No golf, no practice but my wife and I played pickle ball for the first time, it's really fun. Now I just need a half hour in the hot tub and I will be back to normal. The hardest part was learning all the rules. Well have a wonderful day people.

Unfortunately, SwingU, 18Birdies and the likes do not recognize the courses I have played as able to be handicapped which may be changing as @Rob Person posted and article that the USGA is beginning to rate/slope smaller courses to be used in calculating a handicap. So no real number right now. Just going to continue to practice and hopefully will never even need to look at these old scores except to look at my progress. Hope all is well with you @ILMgolfnut and thanks for asking!

Well Saturday I got out to the range and was able to get some good practice in. I did not get along with my 6 iron. I hit all my other clubs, maybe not always flush, but my 6 iron hates me right now. The more I tried to get my 3 good hits with it, the more I struggled. I stopped and moved on. When I had 5 balls let I switched back to it and tried to hit good shots again, this time I got one good. the other 4 not so much.  Must have been in my head on that.

Facebook is full of memes today gleefully pointing out that Swift will make it to the Super Bowl before either Dak Prescott or Lamar Jackson. And CBS and the NFL are no doubt thrilled that KC is there because the Swifties who otherwise don't care about football will inflate their already-ridiculous viewership of the Super Bowl. Or, as I like to refer to it, the Superb Owl.

Yes that is correct. The plan is to rate/slope any 9-holer of more than 750 yards or 18-holers of 1500+ yards, which is virtually all of them. Also, rounds that you don't complete because of weather, injury or darkness (or if a match-play match ends prior to 18) can also be posted if you play between 10-17 holes. That applied to two rounds I played in Scotland. At Cruden Bay, I stopped after 11 holes because of back pain, and at Shiskine, which is an awesome 12-hole course, I played, well, 12 holes. I could only post the front nine in both cases. Now I could post all 11 or 12 (using hole by hole obviously), with the "remaining" 6-7 holes scored by expected ability.

Hope everyone's day is going well!

It's 55* here and boy, I sure have missed the sun. It feels like a nice Spring day outside. I just got home from the gym and am getting ready to return to work. I have been trying to go on lunch since it's only a minute from my house and I told myself I would continue doing so even when it warms up. Well, the golf the course is only 3 minutes from my house and I can already see my future self driving straight past the gym and right to the course on lunch. We shall see how long I can fight the urge. probably not very long.

Exciting day at the Casa! GF got her new treadmill, our fireplace is working again (just in time for another cold snap) and my membership packet for Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Club arrived from Scotland! Took 9 days for the packet to get across the pond. Meanwhile GF mailed a document to California 11 days ago and it still hasn't arrived. Go figure. I'm now set up where I can book my tee times as a member from the comfort of the Casa.
