I am actually a bit of a sucker for their drivers and believe they make a really solid product, even if they don't top some of the performance charts all the time.

Do you have a PXG driver? Have you tried one? Would you be interested in this one?

The gen 6 is a good driver and was a ton better than the gen 5.  I wouldn't mind hitting the black ops.

Never hit one, and sadly never heard of pxg until bustajack had a yt episode at their headquarters. They look like a solid company!

I have a Gen 5 and it’s good, not great. This release does have my attention though.

I didn't get along with PXG drivers and neither did my wife when the 0211 came out.  She bought the 0211 but lost yardage vs her TM Burner (she doesn't change drivers much).  I think she will be staying with her Callaway Epic Speed for quite awhile.  I like my Epic Max LS, but I'll try anything!!!

My dad has a Gen5 driver, gen5 hybrid, and 0211XCOR2 irons. He hasn't hit a driver this long in a very VERY long time (he's 82 and hits it 190-200). Luckily, being a hero he gets the really nice discount.

I'll be doing a fitting this spring at a PXG somewhere to check out the new Black Ops woods as well as the Gen6 and 0211XCOR2 irons. I get the discount being a son of a hero, so that's a nice benefit.

Their products have gotten better and better each generation. So these will be a lot of fun to hit, since I haven't hit any since Gen4.

I have a Gen 4 driver and agree with @Preeway that it's good, not great. The looks of the Gen 4 driver were also a little polarizing (see photo below). I actually like the looks of it, and especially like the matte finish. It appears the new Gen 7 will have a shiny carbon top, so I'm disappointed they went away from the matte look, but I'm very interested in trying one out.

I had a 0811x proto and loved it. I have a Gen 4 and Gen 5. However, I am playing the Callaway TD. I also currently have PXG Gen 5 3 wood and PXG 2, 4 and 5 hybrids. Also a PXG putter. I am planning on getting one of the Black Ops if it really lives up to the hype.

That looks pretty darn good I'll admit.

My uncle has a full bag of PXG and just loves his driver (unsure of model). Claims they're the best he's ever hit, and he's had more than a few drivers over the last 55+ years he's been golfing.

I currently play the PXG 0811X prototype. This upcoming season will be my 4th using this drive. I'm 64 yrs old and I've had a bunch of drivers over the years and this one by far is the straighest I've ever hit. I normally get a new driver every 4 yrs so I will definately hit the new one...

I am currently gaming the Gen 5 and really like it. I tried it next to the Stealth plus and Rogue ST LS and honestly I have been more consistent with the PXG. I really want to try the  GEN6 but its hard to find places to hit these before purchase. There is a PXG retail shop in Charlotte, NC about 2ish hrs from me. I may have to go try the new ones down there soon.

I have always been a bit against PXG because of their ads (mostly Dr. Bob yelling at me) but their irons seem to be well received by most people that play them. On the driver front, I just remember when Patrick Reed got into a PXG driver a while back and his off the tee numbers plummeted. Could have been for any number of reasons but I seemed to assume it was somewhat related to the driver.

I always felt like most of the PXG-sponsored players were never playing the drivers. Luke List doesn't (Taylormade), Joel Dahmen doesn't (Ping), Henrik Norlander doesn't (Taylormade) but I think Zach Johnson does (not really my favorite driver of the golf ball). That seems odd to me and suggested maybe the drivers weren't quite up to snuff.

Make a day of it. Drive down for a driver and iron fitting. Hang out a little with the fitters asking questions and stuff. Grab a nice lunch. Head home. They may even waive the fitting fee for you driving down so far. With Black Ops out now, you're 2 generations back. So it might be worth a look.

I am considering a driver, 3 wood, 17, 22 and 25 degree hybrids. I keep going back and forth between the black ops driver or the tour-1.

I've been trying to figure out the best bag makeup for a while now, so I'm going to take a new approach to my Spring fittings.

I'm basically going to tell them everything down to the wedges is open for change. Let's work the best setup for my game, speed, quality of strike, etc. Whether it's a D, 3w, 5w, hybrid, 5-G or maybe a D, 4w, 7w, hybrid, 6-G. Whatever it is, I'm going to be open to whatever fits my game best from what the fitter thinks based on my hitting results.

I'll take those results and figure out the clubs themselves after.

FYI, Eric Cole is playing it. Rookie of the Year, Eric Cole. :-)

Nice.
I need to find out what the hero's pricing is on the woods/hybrids and gen6 irons. I qualify because of my dad, I just can't see the prices online.

Glad that helped! The hero’s discount is huge! Also if you buy the driver, you get an extra 25 off the 3 wood and any hybrids. So, it was better to purchase them as a package. I think I saved around $550.

How did you get the Hero's pricing as a family member? The PXG website does not mention being a family member of a Military/Veteran/First Responder as qualifying. My father was in the Army and is a former police officer.

You have to go through the website ID.me to get verified. Start on the PXG website and there will be a link to get verified and then it takes you back after you are done.

Oops. Replied to the wrong post.

How did you get the Hero's pricing as a family member? The PXG website does not mention being a family member of a Military/Veteran/First Responder as qualifying. My father was in the Army and is a former police officer.

As Preeway stated. Go to the PXG site. In the menu drop down click on hero’s. That will take you to ID.ME and then verify yourself. If you qualify ID.ME will verify and then you will be directed back to the PXG site under the hero’s program. If you do order, set up an account. That way you will be remembered as part of the hero’s program.

Play like a champion today!

As far as I know, family members do not get the Heroes discount. I believe that the discount is only for military, retired military, first responders, etc., and not for their families.
