Adams Idea Super S Irons

Fellow Spy crew!!!!

Looking for a set of irons for beginner and not wanting to dish out a ton of money to start with until get better.   Found a set of hybrids that are loved and strike very well (Adams Super LS XTD 3 and 4 Hybrid),   Are the Adams Idea Super S irons 5-PW any good as a inexpensive starter set?   I know Adams was bought by Taylormade and some of Adams breakthrough technology is now in Taylormade equipment and Adams was very prominent on the tour years ago.   Just can't dish out the coin for the high end stuff yet.    Any thoughts are appreciated.

And I just want to say that nothing can derail fun and a developing swing more than an ill-fitting set of irons.

Adams made some good irons. I played the Super S fairway woods and they were great. I actually still use the 5w on occasion. I played Adams XTD irons for a while and they were very good. I would be more concerned about what shaft is in the irons. If your swing speed isn’t the fastest and the shafts are stiff they probably won’t perform very well for you. If the shafts are regular I’d probably take a chance on them if the price is right. I’m not as big a club expert as some others but that’s my two cents.

What is the price?  Those are very solid game improvement irons.

I had a set with KBS Tour 90 stiff flex. Very easy to hit. I gave them to my brother as he is a beginner at golf.
