86F at 4:00PM tee time with light winds and widely scattered clouds that did not block the sun the entire round.  Still losing more balls than I would prefer but only when a poorly hit shot goes somewhere unintended, otherwise the ball even hit out of sight is found where it is expected.  The longest drive today was unexpected as it caught a downhill beyond where it was observed bounding and thought to have stopped.  Walking with my Clicgear 3.5+ as usual.

Played amazing, finally feel like the winter rust is coming off. I have spent a lot of time over the last week working on my chipping and wedge game from under 100 yards in and it made a big difference today. I put several chips to tap in range and had 2 approach shots within 5 feet for birdies. I also rolled in about a 25 footer for birdie, which is always an unexpected bonus. All in all, I am getting close to being tournament ready, which first one is next week on June 7th!

The good, the bad, and the ugly. With four penalties (ugly) I still managed just net 5 over. Reached two par 5s in two that I've never reached before (good), but only birdied one of them (bad). My long drive (297) was downhill, downwind, and a massive cart path bounce. To be fair, it was on the perfect line to cut the corner. It's not like I hit it wildly offline and got lucky.

50% GIR, 46% FIR, but my putter let me down 39 putts with 2 4-putts with birdie opportunities. Battled the wind all day at 10-15mph, but I conquered my nemesis hole, #1 handicap, with a 21' birdie putt (net Eagle). I gave myself plenty of opportunities to score, had a great time with some friends, and won a few bucks on the backend. Golf times = good times

Late Afternoon Round and played the tips 6900 yards. A buddy and I got a wild hair to try a familiar course from a new perspective, normally play from the blues @ 6500 yards. Had a bad day off the tee which lead to a lot of poor scrambling. But it was a blast out there either way, may try the forward tees next time.

This round was the best of the year and maybe my best ball striking round of all time. Hit fifteen greens in regulation. Had eight lip outs. This round was magical. Started out with a real cra**Y front which ended with a 51 , nothing, especially my driver felt right. Weird because on the range the best club was the driver. 

I was able to recover on the back with a 44. My woods and hybrids offset the continued non performance of my driver. 

 

My rule of thumb is that whatever works on the range will be your biggest letdown in the field.

Played a 2 man best ball today in our Men's Club. I shot a 85 and as a team, we were -1 for the day. One triple and two double bogeys today. One birdie also. The wind did pick up late in the round.
