DJ and Taylormade not communicating

Wonder if this means DJ will be switching companies or just wanted to get away from all things professional golf during his leave?

Hmmm not sure Taylormade would miss him to much - they aren't short of talent.

But also is he really cool enough for cobra? If that's what they're aiming for - I recognise that me defining cool (hah bet no one under 30 uses that word) is not exactly the same as the marketing men.

Rest in peace long sticks - I'll remember you

Interesting.   No word of if TMag has tried to talk back (which I'm guessing they haven't) or exercised the morals clause in their contract, either.   All contracts have them.   Probably the best thing for them is to sit silent and wait and see what happens.

 markb,

I'm with you, much going on in his life and all have the opportunity to get real messy (lawsuit, drug issues, rumor of messing around with others wives etc) plus his fiancee being pregnant and Gretz talking about pulling the plug if he doesn't get himself right.

TM is in the drivers seat here.

If TMag dumps him I could see Nike going after him. He's young, hits it far, and Nike had never shyed away from someone who has had controversy in their lives.

I agree with Theoo here but I highly doubt this means anything at the moment. I mean, what is Tmag going to do to help the situation? When someone as high a profile as DJ gets into this type of trouble, the last thing any sponsor wants to do is bring attention to it. Why do you think those companies dropped Tiger when he was going through his problems? Who was it again? Gatorade and Rolex I think? Don't remember....

Theoo and Dave are on the right track, I believe. He is hopefully just getting his affairs (no pun intended) in order and is staying out of the limelight while he gets his head right.

The guy looks like Bradley Cooper, hits the ball a mile and is rich...those that judge him harshly need to think about how easy it would be to go off the rails with fame, fortune and hot babes throwing themselves at him. These guys are often a step behind in the maturity department after being slobbered up to their whole lives. Having the great one as a father in law may be the key to him growing up...I hope so as he is one of the more fun guys to have in the hunt on Sunday...

As for TMAG, I think it's just wait and see.

TAYLORMADE EXECS SHOULD BE DELIGHTED.. AS WELL AS JOHNSON PLAYED GOLF, IT HAS ALL BEEN OVERRIDDEN BY HIS DRUG ABUSE AND ALL AROUND BAD BEHAVIOR. HE HAS HAD A REPUTATION FOR BEING "A PARTY ANIMAL" SINCE HE FIRST MOVED TO OUR AREA-(JUPITER/TEQUESTA FLORIDA). HIS PERSONAL LIFE IS HIS BUSINESS ONLY AS LONG AS IT IS QUIET AND PERSONAL, BUT WHEN HIS DRUG USE AND OTHER QUESTIONABLE BEHAVIOR BECOMES PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE AND THE TOPIC OF CONVERSATION, IT REFLECTS ON HIS SPONSORS--- THE s*** HITS THE FAN...EVEN IN TODAY'S WORLD OF NO MORALS, NO CODES, IT STILL ISN'T UNIVERSALLY ACCEPTED TO HAVE A KNOCKED UP GIRLFRIEND, AND BE A COKEHEAD. IF ADIDAS WANTS HIM AS A REPRESENTATIVE OF THEIR PRODUCTS, HE HAD BETTER CLEAN UP HIS ACT FAST.
