Man... August is my new favorite month. Just received 2 awesome offers on my house. Looks like I just have to pick one or the other. Screened for a job I was looking at successfully... and another program opened up. October should be a great month too, hopefully close on the house then and know where we are moving.

I didn't realize that we had golf royalty on the forum!

The dog that you see on my posts was Fidel, possibly the best friend that I've ever had. 

Fidel passed at the age of 16 a few years back.

I stop to look at his portrait next to his ashes every day.

 

But life goes on, and my new dog is Molly.

Molly is a Welsh Terrier, not a Beagle, but she's very affectionate and very adorable.

 

Dog's, like people, can't replace one another, but they can and do bring something new into one's life.

 

It seems like yesterday that we brought Molly home from the breeder. 

 

(I've always preferred to rescue dogs than purchase them from a breeder, but my wife was hung up on getting a Welsh Terrier because she liked our neighbor's Welsh Terrier.

 

She was also afraid that I'd choose another Beagle. All we ever had until then was Beagles, and the Beagles all liked me more than her,  Sorry, dear. So does the Welsh Terrier.)

 

Yesterday, according to her papers, was Molly's fourth birthday.  I cooked her favorite meal and we gave her a few small gifts.  She had a wonderful day.  So did I, really.

 

If all goes well, Molly will outlive me. I just don't think I could handle saying goodbye to another dog.

 

Molly loves both our son and our daughter, so should my wife and I both leave before she does, she'll still have a happy home.

Called my neighbor with a VRBO... told him my situation and he said he'd do a short term lease. September is turning out to be great too! I can put everything in storage and be ready to go come spring.

This is my third week going to physical therapy for pain in lower back and hip and I must say I feel much better. So much that I am contemplating whether I still need that injection in my lower spine.

OG, I get the shot in the back as needed. Sometimes it lasts 3 months, this last one has lasted more then a year. #gettheshot

Just picked my 6th grade daughter. Holy crap I have a middle schooler.... up from cross country practice.

 

Coach said she's the fastest kid on the team, beat the boys by 7 minutes on the long run today. And beat the coach by a minute or so....

 

Pretty excited for her, she loves running. First meet on Saturday at high noon.

I'm finally getting some relief for the nerve pain in my lower back that moves over to my hip. This morning at 10:30I I'm getting a medial branch block. It's a test procedure that must be done prior to my ablation. If the (MBB) does not work the doc said we may need to go another route or keep taking Gabapentin.  The Gabapentin works great as it's a nerve pain med.

My son sent me a picture of his football jersey today for middle school ball and he chose #95 which was a bit odd as he has worn #56 since he was five years old.  Asked him why he changed the number and he told me that if you add my jersey number together from when I played in college (#45) you get 9, Nick Foles wears #9 and the five is for Zach Ertz (#87).  The only time in my life that I will get any credit next to those two, but still cool that my son at least thinks of me that way.
