The Good Morning Thread

Good morning Spies!  Stormy morning as I head out to GC duties.  Hopefully clears by 1 pm as I have my first pro shop tournament match at 2! We have 11 teams in a 9 hole round Robin style setup over 6 weeks. Each round won is a point. Most points get to claim king of the hill.  Straight up play, no handicaps involved.

Good morning MGSpies - early up and out this morning turning in son's RIT apartment that effectively ends that chapter in his life and into the transition to... don't know what is next yet but his internship so far is promising to have extended time by the company he's working for.  Yesterday got out at the end of the rains for a good 9 holes with nobody close by.  The guys who had come in during the downpour that I started setting up in went back out when they saw me going to the 1st tee and I caught up to them finishing the 2nd when I was on the tee box and they were the slower group I could not quite catch up to so didn't try. Hope golf is a part of your day

Wait there’s a Saturday morning league around here?!? I would love to do that since doing Wednesday evening or really any weekday evening league just isn’t in the cards for me.

Morning All,

The wife has work today so I’m thinking of hitting the range this morning. I have the work phone so getting out on the course is probably not the thing to do in case I get a call. So I’m going to finish my coffee and head out to the range and work on my chicken wing I’m having with my woods and driver. It’s starting to sneak into my irons as well. I need to record my swing so I can see what I’m doing. I just need to work on My swing at the moment. Hope everyone has a great day.

Good Saturday Morning Spies! 

Well, it's the calm before the storm, a clear blue 78 degree Central Florida morning. On my second cup of espresso, up early this morning.  Range duties today, not sure about tomorrow with Tropical Storm Debby. This morning weatherman stated the storm will develop into a hurricane as it moves north out of Cuba & gets into the Gulf. That's the other side of living in Florida. 

Should be a busy golf course day, given tomorrow & Monday in all probability no golf.  
Remember, slow play sucks, LOL.

Beautiful day here in Chicago and hoping to spend a good chunk of it outside soaking in the sun. Headed to the range in a couple hours with some friends to get some practice in before our round tomorrow. Hope to continue seeing some good progress with this new swing drill.

Not much else planned besides an anniversary dinner for my wife and me at one of our favorite local spots. This is our dating anniversary, not our wedding anniversary, but I won't complain about going out for a nice meal. 

@Javs sorry to hear about your back! Hope that you can take some time to recover and bounce back soon.

@Josh Parker enjoy the round today! Always a treat to play a private course.

Good morning everyone! 

It's a nice morning here and I'm sitting around with a cup of coffee and animals cuddled up next to me. I think it's the perfect start to the day. 

We're taking my SIL out for her birthday tonight and have some errands to run beforehand. I'm still feeling good about my round yesterday and had a lot of fun watching the improvement my buddy has made in his game. 

@Javs I hope your back gets to feeling better. 

@rkj427 I hope the Cars and Coffee event is a rousing success.

Top of the pot spies .  Nothing much planned for today except working on the RTJ Trail trip.  The date we picked is real close to some scheduled overseed and green aerations - at least according to the RTJ website.  When I spoke to one of the courses yesterday, they said that schedule is put out at the beginning of the year and not always accurate... best to check with each course. 

Add to that one of our foursome had to drop out, so we're looking for a replacement.  Group trips are fun, but they can be a PITD at times, trying to cover everyone's needs. It will work itself out, but I'm impatient and loose ends kicks my OCD into overdrive .  I have to keep reminding myself I'm retired... put the Air Force and Boeing days in the rearview mirror.

Good morning! It ended up raining off and on all night last night so we were all stuck inside. Watched some Olympic coverage (I did see about 15 seconds of golf highlights), and built some legos that my daughter got from her birthday. 
I'm not sure what’s on the agenda for today, but I already got a little workout in and my son wants to go fishing and I can’t say no to that!

Good morning spies! Had a fine day with the Wild Bunch yesterday. Shot a 4 over 77 with 4 birdies and a brain fart double. The best part was my team showed up as well. Score 2 out of 3 net balls per hole. So par is 146 and we shot a net 130. Good enough for the win and at least 1 of my birdies is going to stand for a skin. My 9 round dry streak of no money ended yesterday! Finally!

According to FedEx my L.A.B. DF3 armlock putter is out for delivery .  I think we will have something like chicken Caesar salads for dinner so I can come in late if the putter arrives late. I am taking it immediately down the three blocks to the course!

Having another cup of coffee while I contemplate going to the range to see if I can figure out what is going on with the woods after having given such a stellar display of their use on Thursday... 

Just not so sure I want to get out in the heat today after yesterday's sauna session during GC duties...

Good morning everyone!

A little slow going for me this morning. Woke up and walked to the local bakery for some coffee and breakfast to go, with the hopes the 20 minute walk would work out some of the liquor I drank last night . Sort of a gloomy overcast day so we’ll be headed into town to walk around and pop into the shops. 

I'm not wishing the weekend away but also eager to get home as my new AI Smoke TD head arrived yesterday and I can’t want to start tinkering with some shaft set ups!

Good Morning!

Watched the last few holes of the Olympic coverage with a coffee and Baileys.  Thought about adding Cognac to seem more Parisienne, but refrained from drinking the good stuff too early this morning.

The weather looks great here for a round, but with the in-laws in town it’s not in the cards.

Hit them straight for me.  Have a great start to the weekend!

Good Morning Spies,

Get to do one of my favourite things today!! Golfing with my sons!! There’s a course by where we live (Collicutt Siding in Crossfield, AB) that has a fantastic kids program and a little three hole course for juniors to play only, no pressure from adults behind them and they learn to enjoy the game at their pace on their their time. I get to walk the course with them (no adults allowed to golf) and get to just enjoy them finding fun in golf. Hot dogs at the turn for the win as per usual! Gonna be a great day spies!

I don't know why I wait till the hotter parts of the day to mow, it's cooler today than yesterday but you can't convince my sweat glands. I guess I was hoping the grass would dry out a little bit since it's been a while since I mowed and we got some rain last night. It's not fun having to stop the mower every five minutes to clear wet grass out of the side discharge. 

The good news is I got the majority of it done and I'll either finish up tonight or tomorrow and get the weed eating done with it.
