Let’s just say they were the best in each of their particular  era .

I had the opportunity to have a great converstion with Canadian Golfer of the Century, Gary Cowan. he won the 1966 and 1971 US amateur and played with and against Jack in many amateur world events in the 60's before Jack turned professional. There was no doubt in Gary's mind that Jack was the best he ever saw. I would have like to have been a fly on the wall with some of those conversations.

speaking of irons sounding different, I was on the driving range at Marine Drive Golf Club for the 1977 BC amateur. We were all standing on the range and this kid from Seattle (Fred Couples) was hitting balls at the end of the range, and a sound was different coming off his irons... we could hear it...

I caddied for my good friend in the 80 AM at CC of NC and Freddie was there , lead the first day of scoring to make the match play , he hit so far it was unreal back in the days of steel shafted drivers with real wood heads and balata balls , Sutton won that year

For me being a kid of the 80’s and 90’s Tiger is/was amazing. I remember watching the 97 Masters 3rd and 4th rounds and as a 14 y/o kid golf was not something I watched at all, but I watched every minute of those 2 rounds just in awe! To me he is the GOAT. That said I am from Ohio my Gma was a professor at The Ohio State University, and I love the fact that our freaking Buckeye still and probably will continue to hold the most career major wins!

It's the big move today! Movers come on an hour and a bit. Late night getting things ready, first night at the new place and as expected the kids hardly slept and up early to get work done before it all starts.

Yikes! However will be so happy when the day is over. Have most the house already moved just all the big stuff now!

Cold but sunny. By next week we might be breaking into the 50s F. But too soon to think about.

Good Monday morning everyone!

It's an early startup day for me at work. We haven't had one in a couple of weeks for my line and it's been a nice break from them. 

It was a great weekend that went by way too fast, but I did get my smoker seasoned and got to the range yesterday.

Great Monday morning to one and all , certainly getting weary of these 42° mornings here in The Villages though I’m certain it’s much worse elsewhere! This trend has lasted longer than any of the previous 5 winters here , usually by now it’s getting very nice but I see a warmup heading this way later this week , and it will reach middle 70’ s by 1 just makes for a chilly 45 minute ride for the first tee ! Enough whining , hope everyone had a good weekend and May this week meet all your highest hopes and expectations! Great conversation yesterday about BBQing and TW and JN greatness , the likes of probably not to be matched in our time ! May y’all be lucky, grateful and blessed !

Good Monday morning spies! Starting the day off at 24° with a high of 72° this afternoon, we’re going for the record. We’re heading back below freezing by Wednesday though.

Pretty good weekend for me. Hung out with friends Saturday night as well as longish walks with the wife both Saturday and Sunday. We’ve been trying to get a walk in everyday but the weekend allows for a more relaxed vibe since we’re not trying to squeeze it in between work, supper and whatever else seems to be going on.

That’s all I’ve got to start the work week, have a great day spies!

Good morning MGSpies on a dark not too chilly WNY last Monday of February with work network coming up and coffee ready to begin today's zero commute workday  Good day yesterday with curling, talking about golf being sooner this year because of the mildish winter, and catching up on favorite YouTube channels about my first love sailing and those I follow whose adventures began in the Sea of Cortez and the last episode watched are already in French Polynesia, southern hemisphere and warm!  Glad to read about everyone's weekends and similar hopes for warmer weather soon.  Hope golf is a part of your day

Another busy week ahead of me, but the weather guy says the temps might hit near 70 tomorrow, which is crazy for Michigan this time of year. Then snow on Thursday, go figure. Haha. Good morning and happy Monday! A beautiful day forecasted for today with highs in the upper 60s. Planning on hitting some balls after work today to get ready for a tee time on Saturday. Never thought I would be saying that in February in Iowa. Won't complain though!

The first two weeks of digging in on the consulting side were busy but started seeing some light and this week should be much better.  Met with some new RE clients yesterday and need to get the drone out to view their property from above today.

Good Monday Morning Spies! 

Chilly start to a Central Florida morning, 46 degrees & clear skies.  No golf today.  The pool pump is leaking, so having it repaired this morning.   Busy weekend of Ranger duties at golf course. Course was packed both Saturday & Sunday.  Saturday, I did get to meet retired Pro Bowler Bob Handley. That was cool, especially if you were a bowler in the 80's & 90's.  

Finishing first cup of espresso.  Working from home. Hopefully pump is not a painful $$ issue, .

Good morning everyone. Was a busy weekend and feel like I haven’t been on the forum in a month, even though it was only a day or two. Highs near 70 today followed by possible snow Tuesday night. That’s the Midwest for ya this time of year. One of the boys has baseball tryouts this week and another is trying out for the golf team. I think this is the year he finally catches his old man. Gonna have to work harder in my fitness and my swing with @CFreddie to stay ahead of him. Hope everyone has a great Monday and I hope the rest of your moving goes smoothly @GolfSpy_APH

Good morning Spies on a much later start to the forum for me than usual Monday.

Had an issue arise at work late Friday, and naturally since no one else was in, or checked emails since, I spent the last 2 1/2 hours catching them all up on the issue and known details. 

Did manage to get to the range, and a SIM round in yesterday, so for me a really nice way to end the weekend.

Hope the rest of the move goes smoothly for you Jamie, @GolfSpy_APH.

@tdroma98 pretty neat that you met "Hookin" Bob" as I do know who he is and his claim to fame on the PBA.

Hope your day is the best it possibly can be, and that something enjoyable is in your plans.

I disagree, you have to be a great putter to win, Schefflers putting woes could get him to quit the game if they continue. 

I would say the elite golfers at the top of the pyramid, the PGA tour, are the best 200 putters in the world. Is it hard work or DNA talent, probably both. 

I think, what I have heard, is you should practice your short game, chipping and putting, as much as your long game. 

So far this year the best putters have won every week on the PGA tour, or at least had a top 5 finish, that is good enough feedback for me.

I agree with a majority of what you are saying , but I think you left out one key elements that is a very important and essential to putting well. All of the great putters do something that sets them apart and I believe it is the mental aspect of  putting itself. You hear the great putters talk of "willing " it into the hole , "believing that they can make every putt", or when they are putting they are not thinking so much about all the technical aspects . I am no Jack or Tiger, but regarded as a great putter and said that "when he is on the green ,look out! My foursome would attest to that. I said all of  that to say this , when I practice putting , I work on alignment, tempo (yes -the putter too) but when I play, I do not worry about results but have extreme confidence in what I am doing.     

Now , if I could just become a lot better iron player! We all have a cross to bear ......smiles

As for myself, it’s work Monday. Have a full week of work this week. Then next Monday starts the work week that will last 11 days straight. Ankle doesn’t feel so bad today, just a tad achy. Basically telling me I am a big dumb numbsack going to the range yesterday. Hope everyone has a good Monday.

Discovered this one a number of years ago. I've always liked dark roast, full bodied coffee ("hot, black and strong" ) and everyone who's at our house that has had some all say how much they like it!

Here's the background story...

The place I order from (Coffee Bean Direct online) offers it in whole bean or a choice of several grind levels .. I get espresso

Ok well time to get .. haha .. buzzing...

Good morning MGS Troops! Windy again in Cheyenne Wyoming. It’s been this way since Friday morning. 

I have work to do today so I won’t be doing anything golf related. Los Poopies weren’t interested in coffee with me this morning; cowards! As you may know I’ve finished my review write up of the Callaway balls, you can read it and all the other reviews in the forum testing page under Callaway Whitebox review. Good info in there from all of us fellow testers. Hope everyone’s morning is awesome! As always, Happy Birdie Hunting!!!
