Good morning Spies on a cold and damp Sunday morning here. Had my Titleist fitting yesterday and will post about that either in the "What have you tested" or "What have you purchased" threads.......................... all I will say here, is it was much longer than the hour scheduled, as he had open appointment slots, went through the whole bag, not just irons, and also a ball fitting. In my opinion, what we accomplished during this time was probably the BEST fitting I have ever gone through, and whenever a change was made, the reasoning was explained, shots were then hit to see results, and at the end of it all, IF I want to make a change to my irons the benefits would be very slight distance gain but a much bigger gain in dispersion, especially with the scoring irons. More due to recommended shaft which is different than what I have been playing this year.

Too cold and wet to do anything golf related, or really outdoor related here today.

Good morning All, 

We got enough rain yesterday and through the night that the game Emma was supposed to play at 8:30 this morning has been delayed indefinitely while the tournament directors assess field conditions and forecasts. Let the waiting games begin. Aside from that, going to try to squeeze in a virtual round at the range this afternoon/evening, SWMBO permitting, of course.

Good morning MGSpies from a cold damp WNY this Sunday after a good round yesterday in the not too cold windy conditions after the front and its rains passed through.  Had some good shots that while different than others (who play much better than me) were still able to keep up and add to the enjoyment of the day.  Greens were slow as carpets so the one-putts were few with the rest being lag putts.  Autumn conditions in WNY indeed.

Curling is the sport for today at noon and heading to take more car things to son for his project MG Midget.  Should be a great day, and hope golf is a part of your day

Good morning everyone. Have to be a touch crazy this morning as I find myself waiting for the pro shop to open and the temps are still below freezing. Appreciate any prayers sent my way for no thin shots today . Still trying to figure out why I’m doing this this. Oh well, here we go. Hope everyone has a great day ahead.

Good Morning everyone!  Well, I was right... it was cold yesterday.  Hit the ball poorly and the bad news is that today is going to be just as cold as yesterday; currently 24º.  Still getting used to wearing multiple layers.  Oh well.  Only thing to do is give it another try today!!  We had a 2 hour frost delay and started on the back nine since there is more shade on the front nine.  Probably the same today.

I managed to shoot an 83 and that included taking a 9 on the par 4 #16 with no penalty shots involved!!    Hope y'all hit the ball better than I did and if you can't play, enjoy your Sunday.

Good morning Spies,

A wet rainy morning in Central NY. The weather has made for a leisurely morning. Enjoyed my two cuppas. SWMBO and I will go out to lunch and hit the apple orchard. I see an apple cider donut in my future. Will hit Costco for a rotisserie chicken. I will use it to conjure chicken white chili for dinner.

I ran into Dick’s yesterday to pick up some inexpensive brightly colored golf balls. Need the added visibility they offer with all the leaves down. They had Maxfli StraightFlis on sale 2 for $35. Right in my price range.
 

On a whim I tried a Scotty Cameron Phantom X7 and X7.5. I game a 34” putter in both of my Evnrolls but the Scotty 34” felt “short” to me. I found the 35” length more natural. This begs the question, are club lengths, like flex values fungible?

Good Weekend Afternoon, Fellow Spies!

We're back from a short detour through Bizarro World - yesterday was 80° shorts and polo .. today is 60° grey damp with sweatpants and fleece jacket during poochie walk earlier.

Had a nice practice session yesterday; the course .. of course .. was just waaaay too packed to even think about trying to get out!

Then a fun evening get together with a small group of long time guy friends .. it's one of those things you have to do while you still can ....

Anyway hope everyone is having a fun and relaxing day!!

Good weekend. Golf tournament yesterday. It was a four man scramble for charity(children’s cancer). Today I woke up at 7:00 am, looked at the weather and it was going to be another 80 degree day. A quick SSS and off to the course and teed off at 8:00. The course was empty. I was the only car in the lot other than Joe’s from the pro shop.

At least I got my golf fix in. Heavy travel schedule for work coming up soon!

Simple answer yes.  Most club manufacturers measure putters from the center of the face to the tip of the grip.  I believe TM measures from the heel to the tip of the grip.

Yesterday was a fun day at my companies family day.  Only my daughter and mother-in-law were able to make it up the stairs to get onboard;  wife and sister-in-law waited for us to finish.  Pic is from the hanger bay of the Kennedy and overlooking the Enterprise

 

 

Today was 80 and sunny so it was off for my normal Sunday round.  Fall colors are starting.

We did have a good time.  Not many people get the opportunity to go inside the gates.   I updated the post, we were in the hanger bay of the Kennedy and overlooking the Enterprise.

Yikes! and double Yikes!! … It maybe Sunday, but NO rest for the wicked. The day started a little brisk for South Texas. Actually had one of the work crew show up wearing insulated coveralls. He looked like the biggest three year old ever in a snow suit. 
    As a very tiring day was ending, the wife person called. She was tired and sore from getting the domicile of her witches coven ready for Halloween. The “ Halloween Harpy “ berated me for not being home to help her in getting ready to celebrate her favorite holiday. I promised to make sure the treats for the trick or treaters were being sent to the house. She kept droning on an on an on. She complained about her hands having blisters from using the broom. Sooooo of course without thinking before I spoke; I uttered…. 
 

Pretty sure I will not be getting the treat of new wedges for Halloween. 
     Enjoy whatever is left of your weekend my friends, as the monster know as Monday is coming at us.

Very cool. When my son enlisted in the Navy his recruiter got us on the USS Nimitz which was home ported in Everett, WA. It was very cool to explore. Then he got us on board the USS Essex which was the ship of honor for Seafair. We got cruise around the Sound for the day and had the opportunity to explore the ship as well. I was lucky enough to watch from the bridge at one point. Oddly enough my son was never assigned sea duty. He was either “Green Side”, with the Marines or assigned to a hospital.

Fall has really hit with some frost on the ground and time change for us here happened this weekend. 

Early to work today and getting a variety of things done to be caught up for what should be a busy week. 

This weekend was fun as Saturday we had a tree planting day in our community for all the new borns. Each kid gets their own tree and it is planted in various areas around the community. Ivans was done last year up top of the hill where we nearly walk every day. It was nice that they selected a similar spot for Aurdreys as well. Both of them are apple trees and the weather was perfect for it. 

Ivan was a super helper and even though they spelled the last name wring it was fun way to spend a hour and a bit.

It's back to work day and another early Monday start up. I'm feeling pretty good since I slept the whole night without getting up for the first time in a long time. 

We had a good weekend visiting my sister and doing our normal Sunday routine. I mowed the yard for the last time this year, too.

Good morning Spies on a dark, cold "Back to Work" Monday here. Colder week this week to start out with, but supposedly getting back to the low 50's by the end of the week, so hoping to get another round in outdoors.

Will be a busy week at work for me, still short staffed, and another individual in our group also is transferring out of the department on Friday to take a different role within the organization.

Hope that your day is the best it can be, that something golf related may be in your plans, or at least something which brings you satisfaction and enjoyment.

@GolfSpy_APH This tradition is still one of the best things I have heard, and sounds like a wonderful tradition.

Got out for my last round on Friday and had an interesting round. Was playing really really well on the front, shooting even and then made birdie on 10 but fell apart going 5 over on a 4 hole stretch and not birding a short par 5. Still 76, but oh what would have been. Other wise cleaned up the yard and shed on Saturday and then Sunday had the in-laws over for dinner. Overall it was a great weekend.

Have quite a bit of work to get done today and the course is closed so no golf on the agenda.

We adore it may be the best way to describe it. 11 new trees planted this year and 280 over the last 19 years... Keep in mind our town is maybe 1000 people. 

Very fun to see all the babies, names and new families around town. Plus the fresh bread and apple juice was great!
