The Good Morning Thread

Waiting to find out if my tournament is going to happen. As of noon local time, exactly one person had teed off in the tournament. Everyone else (members only) has no-showed because of the weather. They might send me out in about 30 minutes with a guy named Bernie. If he shows up.

I could play solo, I guess, but searching for my errant shots in this weather without a second pair of eyes would not be fun. And tomorrow's forecast is much better. So it's probably either Bernie or tomorrow.

Good morning Spies,

Uppa with a cuppa. The weather experts are calling for storms all day in CNY today and to be on the alert for tornadoes. Well that’s new.

I have a golf lesson this morning. One of the folks at golf league recommended him. He is the assistant golf coach at a local college. I hope he doesn’t advise me to take up bowling.

Good morning spies!

A rainy start to the morning, but hopefully should clear throughout the day in time for me to hit the range after work. I stopped by the PGA Tour Superstore yesterday to return an item and also tested out the Odyssey Mini Jailbird. I have to say, I'm pretty close to pulling the trigger. I love the feel off the face and I think my current putter has too much toe hang for my putting stroke. A full mallet vs. my current mid-mallet seems like the way to go. We shall see!

Otherwise hoping for another chill day at work. @GolfSpy_APH excited to hear about the future of the forum and as always we are all grateful to you and the mods for continuing to search for ways to improve the Forum experience. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the tests this year and next!

Good morning everyone. Son has another tournament later this morning and I have men’s league this afternoon. Looking forward to watching him play again. He shot 84 on Monday with a few unforced errors. Finished 4th. He knows todays course really well so if he plays as well as he did Monday he has a chance for a top 3 finish and a medal. Hope everyone has a great day ahead!

My Dada and I decided to do a scramble tournament together so we need to get a couple more players together to get that going, but it should be fun.

Also construction is done in our son's new room so now its time to get staining and painting so we can finalize moving all the stuff in.

Yesterday's round got rescheduled to today, so still holding out that ever elusive hope of hitting the ball at least half as well as I do on the range...

In other important day to day events heading to the Chiro in a bit and then to the store to restock the beer fridge - now that's important!

And then loosen up, warm up for golf! 

Hit 'em well if you're heading to the course, or visualize about hitting them well if you can't play today!!

Good morning spies! What a bad few days!!! SH*TCON DELTA reared its ugly head again early Monday morning at 3am. We just got back from Charlotte at that time, lots of delays… anyway I had the trots bad.

Had to battle my way through it, played golf on Monday while trying to deal with potty location on the course. Finally had to walk off the course and sit in the pro shop bathroom for an hour before driving home. Ended up in the emergency room for IVs to replace all the fluid my body violently expelled. After all was said and done I’d lost 6 pounds. Not a weight loss program I’d recommend. Played golf yesterday and didn’t play well, but at least I was on the course. Anyway, I’m hangry now. Hope all is well and have a great hump day!!!

Good morning to all on a very wet Wednesday morning. The remnants of Beryl decided to pay us a visit, so it’s rain, rain and more rain. So the golf game for today is cancelled.

@GolfSpy_APH thank you for the update and all that you and the moderators do.  It’s not easy juggling all those balls and keeping things moving forward and upward.  Great job and very well done.  Looking forward to see what’s in store for next year.

Me too, the VA emergency room even did a CAT scan on me, I told them I knew what it was from but they did it anyway. Damn Jamba Juice and their healthy bowls! Weren’t very healthy to my lower intestines!!! The three of us that got Jamba Juice were all sick.

Good morning, Spies!! Happy Wednesday!!

Strange weather morning. No rain was in the forecast, but I'm not sure if you'd call this rain. It's like one of those misters you see on the sidelines at a football game, just like 25% of the volume. The ground shows being wet, but you can barely see the mist coming down. Just strange. At this point I welcome any precipitation for my grass, but I'd rather it just either rain or not. *shrug*

And now the clouds are breaking up and the sun is starting to peak through. So much for any potential natural lawn watering. It's just going to be extra humid now.

Oh well, back to work I guess. Everyone have an awesome Wed-Nes-Day!!

@JJBack and I posted our best round to date in league last night with a 40. Couple bad holes but outside of that we were super consistent. Also again missed three birdie putts, two of which were inside 6 feet and one I hit too hard and lipped out. Had an eagle putt from just off the fringe on a par 5 after I hit a really solid drive and Justin drilled a hybrid. The other close birdie we missed was on the par three 6th where I hit an 8 iron directly over the flag by about 5 feet. Legitimately thought there was a chance I was leaving the aceless club as it was in the air .

No golf on the docket for today, but going to get out on Friday with my oldest for one last tune up before the member/guest tournament this weekend that I am playing in with my uncle. Looking forward to the Friday round with my son as we haven't gotten to do much golfing together yet this summer being so busy with baseball early on!

Mornin' all! Happy hump day out there. For those who enjoy their Starbucks before a round or before work today, they are giving away some pretty cool straws with the order of a cold drink! Got mine and ready for the work day. 

On a side note, I finally get the chance to take on the local members in a match play tourney coming up in a few weeks! I've been wanting one of these so bad as all we ever do are scrambles. Lets goooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

Good Morning everyone!!  Spent yesterday morning messing with my irrigation system, then decided to walk 9 holes before it got too hot.  My wife and two of her lady friends were making the turn when I got there, so it was the easier 9 holes to walk.  Big mistake!  At least I got a walk in; however, the golf was terrible!  It was over 100º when I finished; high was 107º.

No golf today!  High is 110º with wind 10-20mph with gusts to 30… blast furnace!!  Be safe and cool!!

Forgot to mention....nasty winds snapped a portion of a palo verde in my front yard and nearly waxed my truck

I didn't get to do it at the range yesterday.  By the time they opened up the range, I had stuff I needed to go get done.  I plan on doing it later this week and knocking it out.  I did go thru it once into the net at the house and I plan on sending all data over to Foreward to look at.

Good morning! I was able to get out for 18 holes yesterday because the rain held off in my area until late in the evening! I was very excited to be able to get out. Played decent on the first 9 and pretty terrible on the second 9. I had 5 topped shots on the day. Haven't had that many since I was starting out golfing. Anyway, more details will go in the How'd You Play thread.

Today is rain all day and then kids' activities this evening.

@billpierce Sorry that website looks like a  "Look at how stupid I am. I just put my password into an unknown source to see if someone has stolen it, and now because I put my password into the box, it has been stolen".

Golf again this afternoon and it will be a degree cooler....116. Oh, hey, after calling the people who I ordered my tonneau cover with, the one I ordered showed up. Fedex is supposed to come pick up the one for the Ford today. 

I am so envious of all the folks with the rain. None in our forecast at least until the weekend. 

@Chux13 Palo Verde trees seem to be weak in the way they grow. A good stout wind and they shed branches like a long haired dog sheds fur in heat like I am having.

So a little update here and as we solidify things it will be more details update for the community, however we are starting our talks with the companies for 2025 member testing. I know this isn't what the forum is all about, but it will feel a little different next season. I suspect fewer test and some slightly different formatting. 

One bigger change could be the tweaking of days that our member tests are released. I have loved the consistency we have provided and it is important, but there are some tests that will be released in conjunction with the launch of products (or so we hope). We also want to tie in Live Q&A with those companies on those same days. 

So for example (not a true product) L.A.B. comes out with the LINK.1 WIDE (my dream product) on October 11th (again not real) which is a Friday. That would mean no Testers Wanted on the Thursday and instead we push it back and announce the Test the Friday. That evening or day or whenever I can get it scheduled for the OEM we have a Live Q&A to discuss what's new, what is the story behind it and how this is different. This will be open to all to join in and ask questions - we are currently seeking the proper platforms to due this on. We may include a live thread and some other potential content. 

Eitherway 2025 is going to look a little different as we continue to work on elevating the experience for the community and companies involved in our member testing.

Thanks for sharing the behind the scenes. I like the idea of more OEM engagement. This would really help dispel the idea that tests are just some “giveaway”. Well done. Looking forward to seeing this evolve.
