Hello From SE Texas

Hey everybody!!

After about 20 year hiatus, I'm getting back into playing golf.  

I'm more of a casual/recreational player. I don't get enjoyment form competition.

Getting a bag together at the moment:

DRIVER - PXG GEN5 0311XF 10.5 

5 WOOD - PING G425 MAX

IRONS - TaylorMade SIM2 OS MAX 5-AW

 

I have some gaps to fill. 'Not sure if I want a 3 wood or a 7 wood. I don't really have money for both.

 

Anyway, I'm happy to be here and hope to be active in the discussions.

Welcome @cronquille!  Glad you joined us.

We had quite a Texas contingency maybe 6 years ago or so.  They even had a MGS outing one year, then all of a sudden they must have all driven into a penalty area or something because they stopped posting.  

Glad to see more Texans on the forum.  I was actually thinking of coming down to play in the outing.  Would still like to make a trip one of these days; we have timeshare condos in the Hunt, Marble Falls, and New Braunfels area that I would like to check out.

Welcome to the forum.  I also live in SE Texas as it is a great place to live where you can play golf pretty much all year long.

There are some great courses in Marble Falls/Horseshoe Bay.

You can get a Adams Speedline Fast LP (low profile) 3 wood for cheap on Ebay, with an Ozik Matrix shaft.  I have 2 of em!

As am I! Well, I’m actually on the south side of San Antonio. I usually golf at the base courses (Randolph, Lackland, Sam). Hope we run into each other.

I don’t have a pass for the base courses…I usually play in Floresville or Seguin or at Mission del Lago.

Hello and welcome from SW MO.  For what it worth, my configuration of clubs is usually D, 3W, 5W, 3 hybrid, and 5 - LW irons.  I find at my age and length off the tee, I need more long clubs.  Sometimes I will swap out the 3H for a 7W or a 4H.
