How'd you play?

Really frustrating three days of golf due to poor putting. Was stationed by my driver and irons and chipping ok but I didn't make ANYTHING on the greens. Shot +5, +1, and +3 with 31-35 putts every round. I use Shot by Shot for data tracking and one round I was -4.5 strokes gained on the green. :/

 

Very encouraged by my ball striking though.

Took the EXO Rossie S our for its maiden voyage.

I kept trimming the right side of the cup, just called the pro shop, he will swap it out for the EXO Rossie Mallet.

Not a bad round today. Even threw in an eagle on a par 5. 24 putts, but lipped out 4. Aerated greens are not my favorite. 72.

Took my son or for 9 in the rain. The light rain turned to full blown down pour. So no score and pictures, but a great fun soaked 9 holes.

Somehow we got 18 in. Rain last night, rained 1/2 after we finished.

Shot 44-39=83, made no sense front 9 was nice, no wind blue skies. Back 9 very windy and cloudy but wasn't pretty but scored OK. A lot of it due to 1 putts. MLA decided to play well back 9.

Shot 37-38 - 75

 

Made some birdies and nice par saves that helped the score. Had a very good day with the driver in the wind.

 

Now if I can keep playing I may be on to something.

+6 on the front, - 1 on the back. I went from not being able to hit the broad side of a barn to not being able to miss. That's golf.

I really don't want to say but I pooped out a 105, yep, 105. 

 

I had flashes of brilliance and some really good ball striking but having 8, yes count em, 8, penalties puts the wood to you.

 

Highlights include a 254 yard bomb off the tee on #10 and a 222 yard 5 wood on 17 to be just off the green on the left.

 

Lowlights include 4, yes 4, 50° wedges shots to get to a green because for some reason (I know which) the ball fell in love with the toe of the club.

^^^ I played with him yesterday and had a similar round (shot 94). I had a birdie and 6 pars. That means I was 24 over on the remaining 11 holes . Matt and I both where hitting either very nice shots or tragically bad shots. It was a great day to play golf, though.

Good news bad news round for me. Broke 80 for the first time this year and shot 79 for the good news. Bad news is I did it with my old set of irons and not the new F8 One Length I purchased earlier this year.

Played in a stroke play event this weekend at a course in central Illinois. Not my home course. I hit the ball very well but stumbled on my way in the second day. I shot 67-74 and tied for first. No playoff. I finished bogey double bogey and that there shows the importance of making par.

Got a chance to play twice over the long weekend.  Played the first round at a really difficult course about an hour from here, and it beat me up pretty good.  I couldn't figure out my driver on the front nine and that will put you in trouble there. Got it straightened up a bit on the back, so that was a little better, but it was still a rough round altogether. Then played again yesterday at my normal course and shot a 77 after bogeying the first 3 holes, so that was a bit of a confidence booster after the first round.

... Interesting scorecard today. All 4's and 3's. Unfortunately one of the 4's was on a par 3. Shot a 68 which is my lowest round of the year. I will say it is an easy course with a 69.7 rating and 6318 from the back tees with only 3 par 5's. There was virtually no wind today and I was swinging really well, so that is a nice combo for scoring.

Great job!  No doubt you will be shooting your age or below for many years here forward.  Now for me maybe when I hit 95, I'll be busting that birthday number like hog in a watermelon patch!

...league play last night.  played like C-R-A-P until the last couple holes. Hit a nice solid drive to a blind dog leg left, good wedge to 12 feet from 84 yards and my partner made the birdie putt.  finished at 2 under as a team...sitting in first by a stroke.

I think I need to improve a lot over the next 15-20 years to have a chance of shooting my age. I give you a really good chance of doing it, hope you do.

 

The way I have been getting off the tee, I would be satisfied with shooting my age for 9. It's going to require serious improvement to be able to shoot my age, unless I am able to play decently into my mid-90's.

78 today..best round in last couple weeks. 1 birdie and lipped another one. 1 double..driver was better today but not great. Good iron control and a few up and downs was the key

I shot a 91 today as I'm struggling with my approach shots. I could blame it on the soggy conditions however I'm just going to own it and say my game needs help. I did hit quite a few good shots with the Square Strike Wedge.  I even chipped one in for a birdie to win two dots. I seem to do really well with game improvement clubs.

For the first time this year my putter/putting let me down. Had a great round striking the ball well hitting fairways and greens in reg but alas the putter wasn't having it and what I gain in other areas of my game I lost on the green.

Not exactly what I was hoping for going into my golfing weekend.

Played the last two days for an 88 and 87. Both rounds suffered because of three bad holes otherwise it would have been much better.
