It's getting worse, a very select number of shots that were remarkable followed by some shocking golf.

Even had a few Rory moments on short putts.

Overall not a hateful round: chip in birdie on 5, putting was a lot better until 18 where I completely fell apart. The gentleman I was playing with said to me at the tee box on 17 ... "Hey Steve, don't look now but you're having a solid back nine." All over. This has happened to me before: a decent looking back nine and then I look at the score and then the crappy golf sets in. A 9 on 18. Ugh. Other than that, I cannot complain about this performance overall. Putting numbers were great by my standards and the Mamba did an incredible job in all aspects until I yipped the crap out of him on 18!

The calf, while still very sore and extremely tight held up well. One take away from this round: I pulled a lot to the left. My partner thought I was most likely compensating for the tightness in my calf as I normally never push anything to the left! More will be revealed during league play on Wednesday!

Not good men.. To many 3 putts.. approach shots were pretty decent most the day though and was only +1 between all the par 3s so I'm not to mad at that

Got in a round yesterday afternoon in the heat of the day and felt it!  My score is worse than I feel like I played.  The par 3s hurt me with not hitting the green and I had a few wild drives that came out of nowhere.

Hoping to get in a few more rounds this week, weather depending.

It's been five weeks since they aerated our greens, and they are almost repaired to the point they are puttable.  That can only mean one thing:  the next aeration is a week or two away!

Tuesday's round had it's good and bad points.

image.png.f87351897920121fe5343bfce6911305.png

The 20-25 mph winds helped dry out our rain-soaked course, but added another challenge.  I only missed two fairways (one left, one right).  The 17% greens in regulation was one green better than usual.  However, lately I feel I'm on the verge of improving that number.  An indication was that I had 7 up and downs for pars today.  That gives me confidence that even with strong winds I'm getting closer to getting on our smallish greens in regulation.

My bunker play had improved as I've had two sandy pars the last two rounds.

On the knuckle head side, two of my three doubles were because I lost concentration and made poor swings.  On our fourth hole, I walked to the tee uncharacteristically paring the first three holes.  I popped up my drive, hit a poor fairway wood into a fairway bunker and didn't recover.  On 18, I was cruising with three par in my previous four holes, got lazy on my second shot on a long par 5 and put it in the water.   Both were preventable!

Looking back over the last several years, I find I get into stretches of pretty consistent play.  Since the middle of May, I've broken 80 twice (including my best ever 75), shoot 80 four times, and my worse round was an 85.  I wish I knew why!  All I can do is hold on, keep doing what I've been doing and see if the streak stays intact!

Heaven knows I've been on the other side of these kind of streaks as well where I couldn't hit my way out of a paper bag.   So, you have to cherish these good ones!

It was a day I couldn’t get one thing going great and all had their moments. Sunk 80’ in putts but still had some head scratching misses. Also had a greenside bunker shot where I completely missed the sand and picked it clean going over the green and into the adjacent fairway

Nothing good to say about this round. Bleh! My driving was ok, approach shots were ok. chips/pitches were ok, putting was marginal. Several lip outs. I just couldn't score. A hard day at the office.

I had a good round today. I had 2 birdies on the frontside, but had a couple of bad holes or my score would have been better. We played the the club pro today. He sometimes joins our group on his day off. Always fun play golf with him.

Played an hour later than normal this morning....still beat the rush, neighbor joined me - said there was no way he was going out at 6am!  Down by two going to the back, his wheels fell off the last 3 holes.  Beat him by 2.

29 Putts - GIR 39% ouch - Driving accuracy 86% - good for accuracy bad for distance this morning....lot of up and downs, even threw a Sandy in there.  Also 3 putted one time.  13 putts on the back 9 saved me.

Been playing this nine pretty well, so moved back a set of tees. Feeling pretty decent about my game. Today was extra special because Prodigal Daughter decided she wanted to join me for her first game on a big course.

Longest drive was 291. Had one natural birdie.

Finally will be getting out for 18 this weekend. Looking forward to seeing if I can put together a decent whole round.

No more tropics, extra warm days and back to work….🥹🥲.  This was a round full of opportunities lost and sheer lack of concentration.  With a few splashes of good golf.  The front started bogey, double and ended with bogey, bogey, bogey.
The back was pars to 13, then double 14, par 15, birdies on 16 and 17, then double 18 🔥🤬😤
