Grand Stranded
I played The Thistle, just over the border in NC today. I played very well (for me) shooting 84 on a tough 6100+ yard course. @Rickp after our talk last night, I put the new 5 hybrid in the bag along with the #4. I have to say, I loved it. First swing ever with it, I was hole high on a 165 yd par 3. It went high, and dead straight, but because I was worried about a hook with the Senior flex shaft, I armed left of the flag. That’s where it went, and I had a 20 foot birdie putt. I then hit greens from 158 and 150 (into the wind), so it was 3-3 on it’s maiden voyage. The 4 was almost as good, but I put a bad swing on it one time and topped it into water. I also chunked one slightly, but it came up just short of the green from 172, so I’m guessing I got 165 with poor contact? Very encouraging, and the 5 iron is staying home again Saturday! cksurfdude, MattF, Tom the Golf Nut and 3 others 5 1 Quote Driver: G425 Max 10.5* Fairway: Stealth 3HL & 7W Hybrids: Stealth 22* & 25* Irons: JPX 923 HM 6-AW Wedges: Tour Issue Glide 4.0 54-12 Tour Issue Glide 4.0 58-10 Putter: ER7 34”

I have a 23* ( like @Grand Stranded mentioned) but I use that as a 4h, my 190 club that goes about 10 yards longer than my 5i so it is a good gap for me. I am not sure I'd like looking at a 26* with all that loft sitting down there?!?! I’m exactly like you with the loft. A 25* would look like a SW to me. As far as the 23* loft on mine, my last two sets of irons ( Rogue X and now PXG XP) are both very strongly lofted. The set 5 irons are 21* I think, and the 6 irons are 24*? The lofts n my Rogue X 3&4 hybrids blended with the irons and they were 18* & 20*, so I just went with those specs for my new irons. You can find a 5 hyb anywhere from 23* to 26* but if you aren’t able to test them, I’d recommend finding one a degree or two weaker in loft than your 5 iron. cksurfdude, MattF, Shapotomous and 1 other 4 Quote Driver: G425 Max 10.5* Fairway: Stealth 3HL & 7W Hybrids: Stealth 22* & 25* Irons: JPX 923 HM 6-AW Wedges: Tour Issue Glide 4.0 54-12 Tour Issue Glide 4.0 58-10 Putter: ER7 34”
Popular Post dlow206
so i kept with my new year's resolution, i went for a fitting at club champion to hit the 2022 drivers. we landed on a Ventus TR 6S as a decent shaft for me, at least for the purposes of comparing heads, knowing that I will go to the Autoflex. the Rogue Max LS won out amongst the heads using that same shaft. Then, the fitter allowed me to use my own Autoflex with the Rogue Max LS (without the fitting adapter, just the normal adapter from my shaft), and it produced better numbers than with the Ventus fitting shaft. Part of my issue in general is that with the fitting shaft with the fitting adapter, the Club Champion clubs end up being heavier from a swingweight and a total weight perspective than I would play. With the Autoflex and Rogue Max LS, my numbers were pretty good. A little better than my Epic Max LS. Enough for the normal person to upgrade, probably not. Enough for me to upgrade because I want to buy something new, yes. azstu324, Shapotomous, Kenny B and 10 others 6 7 Quote Follow my golf journey to break into the 80s Tester for the Titleist TSi Driver Spring 2020 MGS Tester for the Fujikura Motore X Shaft Updated 07/15/2022 Driver: Rogue St Max LS - Autoflex Fairway Woods: Rogue Max St 3HL and 7 Wood Irons: JPX 921 Hot Metal 5 to AW - Aerotech Steelfiber i95 Stiff parallel tip Wedges: Glide 4.0 54 and 58 Putter: PLD Custom Kushin

Popular Post sirchunksalot
Not so much of a purchase, but it was meant to be one. A buddy at work bought a storage locker and there were golf clubs in it. He sent me a picture and told me he'd sell them for $10. I agreed and then he just told me to take them. Most of them will go to Goodwill, as they're knockoffs. I did get an almost complete set of Wilson Dyna-Power II's, the 6 is missing. A couple of putters are staying with me. One's a MacGregor Golden Bear...I think. The gem of the bunch was an Odyssey.
