What Have You Bought Lately? (CHA - Club Ho's Anonymous)

Thanks to an INCREDIBLY generous aunty and gramma (who, even though I'm only married into their family, insist on giving me xmas/bday presents each year), I've decided to take the plunge and buy a camera/gimbal combo that is CRAZY-well-reviewed (check out YouTube for some stunning stuff shot on this bad-boy).  I've so enjoyed going out with my "big" camera, but haven't really been shooting much video, and thought this was the perfect little setup to start getting some great-looking footage with quality sound (I bought the package with the built-in mic receiver and wireless mic, so I can wear it and vlog while playing/walking).  

It doesn't ship until 12/10, but I'll be sure to be posting some more (too many?) videos shortly after getting it. 

 

It has auto-tracking, so I can actually set it up on a tripod and just walk around and it'll track me while I'm talking/moving, which I can see being ideal for a putting scenario where you're moving around the green, and because the mic is wireless and auto-connects, I don't have to be up close to it in order of you to hear me.  

I'm super, super excited to see what this thing can do!

I don't have a drone (yet), but I'm also grabbing an expandable selfie-stick to do drone-esque shots where I can raise it from ground-level to 15-ish feet up, and it'll mimic the feel a little bit.  Getting more and more excited to try it out.  Plus: my kids run around constantly and as good as the iPhone can be, this trounces it in every way (sensor size alone is the biggest win there, but the mechanical gimbal makes a HUGE difference, especially in low-light (indoors)).  Kid videos gonna look hella pimp (said no one, ever).

Yesterday I picked up a Garmin R10 & SwingTurf hitting mat to go in the garage for the off-season stuff and in-season whatever. I'll grab the net around Christmas to hang from my garage ceiling on hooks so I can store it up there when I'm not hitting.

So no my bank account is screaming uncle, so time to put the CC's away and start paying it all off.

I have a drone.  They are fun and I use it for my real estate.  Always nice to have write offs each year so I tend to get some items I can use for business.

Those are sweet! If I can manage to save enough money, rather than spend it as I earn it, I just might get fitted for the new Apex set as well.

I really liked the PowerSteps in my New Balances this past year. Once my new Eccos come in, I'll give them a test fit and see if I want to add them to these as well.

They take a little bit of adjusting to but I was happy with them.

BUT... with the only minor "minus" it's a bit on the snug side...

I usually wear a Medium (and this works for me) but as you know one particular size means several different things to different clothes makers - some labels I could use a Small and occasional a Large...

Oh and...

The ¼ zips also seem well constructed and in this case I'd say for the Medium it does fit true to size. Wore one out last night - very chilly plus there was a brisk cold North wind - and def didn't feel the wind blowing through it.

Awesome. Thank you!  I couldn't make myself order anything a couple days ago for that reason. Sizes tend to be all over the place these days.

Has anyone bought any Cloudspun polos from Puma? I got one as a prize from the Cobra challenge and really like it. Curious if anyone else tried them before I buy a few more.

I can't say that I've tried Cloudspun polos, but have picked up a couple of Puma polos in the past and they're solidly at the top of my favorites list.

I’m with @TSauer,  wedges.   Wedges is just a clean classification of clubs to use a unique set of grips.

A smattering of items have arrived the last few days, with more stuff en route. Of the things that have arrived recently, this "Super Fly" divot tool from Scotty Cameron is one that I've been after for awhile and am stoked to add to the collection. It matches the hybrid and putter covers I have. It's a great set. And reminds me of fly fishing with my father-in-law.

... Well Covid can have a higher price tag than being very sick. I would need an abacus to keep track of all my purchases since being quarantined. Just felt too bad the first 3 days to do anything but by day 5 I was feeling just good enough to start my avalanche of purchases. I am on day 10 now and just ordered a Graphite Design AD-IZ 5 in R2 flex. Gonna be my own version of AutoFlexx, or that is the plan. I will leave some butt length in case the experiment is unsuccessful and I can tip it 1" and bring it to a standard Regular flex. 

... Last round out I missed a double eagle by inches driving a par 4 in two over the lake and my Pard that has been playing the same Oban Purple for close to 10 years said "You are hitting that Ventus Red so well you will need your head examined if you even think of changing it!" No exam, so I will blame the congestion for my non necessary shaft buying disorientation.
