That was certainly an option if it weren't for a small construction project going on in the bay. It's the only clear area I have to work on projects (weather outside wasn't cooperating). There is a gate to the pool pump area that was trash. Some non-construction minded person built the gate out of 1 x 4's and covered it with stockade fencing to match the surrounding pool fence. All using nails except for the hinges. Which were moved many times so there were holes everywhere. Not one hinge was on straight. The entire thing was warped, and the gate wouldn't open without having to lift it. I tried a temporary chain and turnbuckle, but the gate only warped more. So, I'm building a new gate. It's 3/4 done and I will knock the rest out today during my lunch break today.

On occasion the 'Random' thread can also be a 'Rant' thread - so here's mine. We live on Catawba Island , which today is a peninsula with one primary road to cross the causeway. During the summer there is so much traffic on weekends that there's a 1 to 2 mile backup of cars between the highway and the primary stoplight. So in it's greatest wisdom, the state's transportation department decided that instead of waiting til after Labor Day when virtually everyone clears out,  they're going to start construction this week. . The only time this road will be reasonable will be like this Wednesday morning at 7:00 am when I took this picture.

Having my florida address being my official address for the past 43 years, it’s true - the shortest distance between any 2 points in Fl is under construction.  While sitting on the Highway, I alway wished I was “Ken” who sells road construction drums.

Wild incident in town today….18 wheeler carrying a lull crashed into a house.

No one else hurt but the driver but he’s in critical condition hoping for the best

Wild stuff, don’t like to assume but from the sounds of how it all happened it had to be a cardiac arrest or seizure situation. Hoping all works out for the best, house is toast

Just saying the testing opportunities that MGS has offered this year have been outstanding.  They are the most and best products I've ever seen and that's saying a lot!  I've been around golf forums since Dirt was created and I'm totally in awe.

Have to also say No.

Have seen a lot of not so pretty swings make the ball go in the air *and* in the right direction! Plus ... the scorecard doesn't take a picture or tell a story, it's just a place to write a number...

Got invited to play a course that’s about 25 minutes from home that I’ve never played before by a couple of coworkers today. I’ve driven past it more times than I can count but never stopped to play. Tee time in one hour, gotta go.

Unpacking still, but finally got the putting green set up, and first floor too. Haven’t gotten back to using it yet, still more boxes to get through, but at least the kids are enjoying it…

Arrived at the course after work today only to realize that I forgot to put my push cart back in my truck. Choices were to drive 30 minutes round trip to go get it or get a golf cart and drive around 18 holes. I opted for the golf cart. Course was not busy and my round took 2 hours almost to the minute. Walking takes me about 2.5 hours. Just a random observation from my round.

When I’m playing solo, I rarely pull the pin, thus negating this fear. But if I’m solo, the course isn’t overly crowded and I’m playing at least 2, sometimes 3 balls on each hole, so these aren’t rounds for the handicap anyway

I rarely pull the flag as well but, lately when I get within 6’ or so I tend to pull it. Kind of digging the sound of the ball dropping in.
