Small Dent in Toe of Driver - How Much Does it Affect?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I recently dented the toe of my SIM Max driver.  While I can’t say it’s affected performance, I think it’s changed the sound of the driver massively and I can’t stand hitting it anymore.

Does anyone think this realistically could change the sound or is it all in my head?

*See pictures

Thanks!

That isn't going to affect anything.  I had a rogue 4wd that the face was dented (on toe).  I think it was from hitting winter range balls.  I took it to my fitter and Callaway replaced it under warranty.  You could see if this would fit into that category but I don't think its from wear and tear with hitting a ball, so not sure what would happen.

Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it.

I’m sure it won’t affect anything, but I understand why it bothers you. My Mizuno CLK 3h has a dent on top, no idea when/how it happened, and it bothers me to no end. At least you don’t have to see your dent every time you address the ball. I’ve seriously considered replacing mine just because the look gets me even though I’m sure it doesn’t impact performance.

I took my driver with a dent on a toe side of the crown to my friend that fixes cars with hail damage to see if he could get rid of the dent. He used some sort of a suction cup and actually got rid of it. If the dent bothers you too much, tthis is worth a consideration...

One warning though: Friend warned me that it is always tought repairing dents on the edges because suction cup doesn't always get a proper grip or some paint can chip off on the very edge.
