I ended up at -12 because of the brake down of Connors (at a second major). Could have been at - 17 easy if he played even par in the final round!!

Yes it is intended to be fun, those rules aren’t very difficult to follow and don’t make it serious.  Having the forum name match the entry eliminates confusion and helps ensure that the mods can easily reach out to the winner via the DM functionality of the forum

My Golf Spy Rules for This contest

Please read the Rules and Tie Breaker info below.  There are only two Rules plus the Tie Breaker post, but if they are not followed completely, your entry will be disqualified. 

1) You MUST be a registered member of the Forum to win

2) Your entry MUST be your FORUM USER NAME! as the Team Name when you register!!

 

The rules of all of the major contests have always been the same, and are always laid out plain as day in the initial post by @Golfspy_CG2. Yeah, it absolutely would stink to finish in the top 2 and be DQ'd, but, the rules are there for a reason. It is not intended to make the contest not fun, and they aren't that hard to follow. 

I would shy away from complaining about them or trying to justify an "exception" to be made as I could certainly see that as being a reason these contests would be discontinued in the future. It's a tough pill to swallow, and probably easy for me to say because I wasn't in the running, but it happened last year at least once and while the winner who got DQ'd was bummed, he understood why it happened and that was that. 

I'm not trying to be mean or rude, but I think this is such an awesome thing that @Golfspy_CG2 has going and has had going with Titleist that I would hate to see it not continued after this year's major season. Just my two cents.

In each of these contests, we try to make the rules simple and clear.   We don't make it complicated,, and we have these rules in place first and foremost to hopefully reward regular members of the forum and not someone random bot or contest entry experts who seem to find ways in to game the system.   

That's the reason we have the requirement that you must be a registered member and your contest entry name must match your forum name.  As discussed above there were entries that finished higher than these Daniel and Javs,. However those entries didn't follow the rules that were laid out.  

Some may think we are being nit picky on the exact matching name part.  But it's there to protect The Field.  If we make allowances once for one typo, then do we do it again the next time for two typos and  so forth.   

All that said,  Thanks to everyone for participating and huge thanks to Titleist for the awesome prizes.   We hope to be back with another great contest in June for the US Open.
