Had AC/DC going on Pandora today. Barely heard it over my teeth chatting. 35 degrees with wind chill of 25. Still had a ball though.

For those of you who do like music and use a smartphone - specifically an iPhone - when you place it in the cup holder in your cart it amplifies the sound.

It must be an old southern guy thing because I have never seen or better yet heard music being played in the groups I play with... [emoji15]

Maybe I need to sneak one of them boom [emoji378] boxes out to the course and fire that sucker up during this Tuesday's blitz [emoji6]

A little Hank Williams Jr. should get er done! [emoji450][emoji443]

Ole Hank Jr. Would be pretty good. We listen to music every week, if it bothers someone we just don't use it or we just keep it really low. I always ask before turning it on. Keep it loose. My favorites are 90's country, Bob Seger. Classic rock.

I never listened to music before this year. I got some crappy little BT speaker as a door prize for some fundraiser tournament I went into. I only got in a couple rounds by myself before the summer was over so still on the fence but I didn't notice a difference in my score. Played it just loud enough I could hear it from my bag when I set it down to walk the 10' to my ball. Couldn't hear it while putting or on the tee box and no one I passed said anything

So, you listen to "both kinds of music... country and western."    B)

I personally like to keep a Bluetooth speaker in the cart with some music playing if I'm playing alone, occasionally if I'm playing a beer drinking round with my buddies. My general rule of thumb is that if I can hear it while I'm in the fairway hitting my shot it's too loud. I don't want my personal choices to affect others on the golf course so I keep the volume reasonably low.

With that said I cannot stand when I hear music on the green (or other area of the course) I'm on from a group that's 50 yards away. If there's one observation I've noticed with this new trend of music on the course it's that the louder the music is the more obnoxious their style choice of music is.

To each his own. It's a practice I sometimes participate in but I try to be thoughtful in making sure that it affects nobody on the course but myself.

While playing a trial 18 at a local club I wanted to join, I had my first real issue with music on the course.

This foursome comes music blaring- and I do mean blaring, as I am about to tee off on number 10. They looked like they'd had a few. I didn't mind the music; who doesn't like a little Zeppelin, but the volume and them being 5yds away was not a good combination. It was a good example of what not to do.

I teed off with no problem, but not a good experience. The foursome ahead of them was far more cordial and let me play through right away.

I don't mind at all. I don't listen to music unless I'm practicing then I'll put in the headphones. But if someone want to use those Bluetooth speakers while playing...it's all good.

When I had a membership at my local course, I'd often go out early and walk as a single. I have a Puma Soundchuck and would strap it to my bag and play music as I walk. I've tried wireless earbuds, but never liked golfing with them in. I was always mindful of any groups around, and would turn it down or pause it when I would get close to others. When I'm playing in a group, I often will leave the speakers in the bag unless everyone else wants to listen, but again, I don't think there's any place for playing it so loud others can hear.

I never listen to music on the course. I would hate to disrupt someone else.

But I heard "I'm alright" by Kenny Loggins pulling into Bayou today.

It was so appropriate.

Tour Exotics 3 wood is in the bag because we are allowed 14 clubs.  It's a great club for pulling balls out of the water or from bushes - you never want to put your hand into anything in Florida unless you are absolutely certain that it's safe.  There are rare wind conditions when I might hit it off the tee on a few holes that I play.

What do you think about tunes on the course? Ok in a casual round? What about tournament play? And what if the whole group is ok with it?

I play with a bunch of guys most of which play better with the music, ready golf and a quick but relaxed pace. Some of the guys want the music as loud as can be without it affecting other groups around us. We have a few folks that even like it during a tournament round as long as the group is good with it. Everyone always asks first. What are your thoughts? Should it be ok if the group approves? Another rule gone too far by the USGA?

Even though the groups I play with never do it, I'm all for it. As long as it isn't affecting the other groups around you.

If the group is okay with it, crank it up!  For my game, I'd go with this one on a bad day...

Or this one on a good day....
