Go-To Drink - On Course

Got me thinking a bit, what is your go-to drink in the course?

Mine is a coffee, water and Gatorade.

After is usually a beer (IPA fan here) with the group.

I’m a Powerade or Gatorade lemon lime drinker on the course.

Water maybe a Gatorade. I don't like to drink alcohol while playing, espcially in the heat.

I'm all water and beer , my choice is Mich Ultra and yuengling flight Beer.

Not a big “drinker”. For me it’s limited to Water, Liquid IV or an Alani Nu if I need caffeine. I don’t even like to drink coffee prior to a round for hydration purposes.

Since we play first thing in the morning, I like to bring an unsweetened ice tea (with a touch of lemon juice) on ice with me.  I split it with a Tervis tumbler to keep it cold for when I hit the back nine.  If it's really hot (like most summer days even at 7AM) I will take a Gatorade or Powerade, take a few sips and then freeze it the night before.  As I play my round, the drink starts to melt to it keeps it cold through most of the round.

Water for sure, but a few Kilt Lifters as well. I find I score better mid round after a few beers. Not too much, not to little, have to find that happy place in between.

My daily drink is a 40 ounce ice water - fireball for birdie shots 

my charity scramble event drink is my fantastic Bloody Mary, that I’ve been producing for 35 years - make a gallon for my guys and a gallon for the workers at the course ( on the sly so they don’t get in trouble ), normally don’t drink and play unless it’s a giggle round

Morning rounds: Coffee, OJ or Water, Beer (usually something light)

Afternoon rounds: Water/Beer, Energy drink maybe, Water

I also don't usually eat during a round as it somehow always ruins my game haha

I drink a water between beer if I’m in a scramble because I must stay hydrated

I've found all the electrolyte drinks to be helpful, especially on warm or sunny days.  I personally take a couple Liquid I.V. packets with me for each round. 

Staying hydrated is tricky for me because I'm so focused on golf.  I also hate using golf course restrooms haha.

Coffee and water for morning rounds. Gatorade or an electrolyte powder in water on hot days. If I'm drinking beer usually Coors Light, Miller, or Labatt. Only liquor on the super cold rounds.

This might be the most confident I have ever been answering a question.  These all have there special moments and I will elaborate. 
 

1. Bloody Mary (Spicy) no better way to start the morning off then tomato juice and some fresh produce (olive, bacon, celery and peperoncini).
 

2. The sweeping the nation transfusion. I have to thank Bob does sports for this one. It is what I was currently drinking when I got my only hole in one.

 3. The light Beers / seltzer  for the scramble. I mean we about to be crushing 10 beers or seltzer minimum during this tournament you can’t be going high alcohol content. I will drink any but coors light and the high noon are the go to. 
 

4.  When  you need that little extra to get the round going in the right direction, or you’re celebrating that deep birdie putt you go for the shot of Fireball. 
 

Finally this idea was stolen from a buddy of mine. You have to have 4 mini bottles of whatever is special to you, so when you get that hole in one you celebrate with the group. For me it’s four mini bottles of patron but my buddy has four Johnny Blue. (Show off)

Nothing like a Lime Rickey or transfusion especially on a hot day.

If I'm playing by myself I have water and body armor.

Coffee or hot chocolate for the sunrise rounds.

Arnold Palmer, twisted tea or light beer for social rounds.

I'm 100% water on my work course. (They are zero tolerance alcohol, on and off duty rules) I pack my own sugar free electrolyte booster packs to add as needed.

On other courses, with friends, the 3rd hole is usually a flavored vodka seltzer drink for me (for diabetic reasons). and same about every 3rd hole after that. Friends drink beer and stash a fifth of whatever they bring for shots. And of course lots of H2O !!!

My go to drink for casual rounds last summer was a John Daly. Will be trying the Transfusion craze this year as well, but I really only drink, and minimally, on casual rounds. I play better without alcohol involved. That being said, there's always a place for it for me, like scramble events, one round on a buddies trip, etc. Rarely will I have more than 3-4 drinks over 18 holes, though. I've found once you cross a certain threshold, ball striking is totally out the window and it is not fun to hit shank after shank

Water or a Gatorade usually since I gave up alcohol. I spice it up sometimes with an energy drink but don't tell my old lady

Depends on the round of golf for me.

Morning round: Coffee followed by water or blue Gatorade. Maybe a post-noon/post-round IPA.

Afternoon/Twilight round or league night: water and Labatt's Blue light OR if I'm at a nice course or on vacation I do a Transfusion.

I prefer not to drink a lot to try and play well but if I'm just there for fun or know my round is going downhill will dictate how much I drink.

Most days it's water for me.  If it's an event or on the rare occasion I'll have a beer or two.
