Bought a hybrid today, and my fitting experience was exactly why I got fitted instead of buying what I thought I needed. 

I've never got on well with hybrids, and really do well with fairway woods, so I carry a 9 wood. Due to changes in my swing from lessons, I'm hitting the ball much higher now (a very good thing for me!). In the wind that 9W goes too high and spins too much (100' and 4840 rpm), and was getting very unpredictable. The "classic" alternative to a 9W is a 4H, but what I really want is a specific yardage between my 5i and 7W. We started with a 4h, but across every model I tried it was too low. Carry was in the right range, but none of these would have held a green. Long story short, working through options for an hour I ended up with a 5h head set 1° strong built to 4h length, a lower weight in the head to get the feel right, and it nailed the carry target and trajectory window. It proves the adage that the number on the head is meaningless.

FWIW, I ended up with a Ping G430. The numbers for the TM Stealth were essentially the same, but I picked the Ping because I preferred the matte finish. Others tested include the Titleist TSr2 (higher ball speed but I was too inconsistent), Callaway Paradym (flatter lie had me leaving it too far right), and XXIO 12 (too light, I was very wild).

Nice!! Yeah when you have a very specific carry / target / trajectory window it's either a lotta trial and error (possibly more error and then frustration) or a qualified fitting which sounds like you got a good one

Added a used set of Srixon ZX7 irons 4-AW with nippon modus 120 x-stiff shafts to the collection today. The last few weeks I had been looking for a set of forged irons at the right price, and today I found them. Swapped out the standard grips for some jumbos and they are ready for a trip to range tomorrow to dial in yardages. Pics and details to follow…

Just picked up a new Ping PLD Anser 2 in the brushed color (one of the best looking putters every in my opinion, not to mention the head cover it comes with). And the way it feels on the green is fantastic. 

Then a really fun purchase from a Play-it-Again sports, in honor of the new BRNR mini driver I found an old-school burner 9.5 degree for $8, haven't had the chance to swing it yet but im looking forward to it.

The Ping PLD putters are really nice.   The one thing I like is they seem to have a hot face.

Just bought my first brand new putter. Been using an older Odyssey White Steel #2 (bought in 2011 used) and was definitely time for an upgrade. Putted around at GG and absolutely LOVED the Odyssey White Hot Versa Double Wide. The feeling of the ball coming off the face is phenomenal. So much more confidence and control on the green now. Well worth it! I liked the Odyssey 5k Tri Hot a lot too but was a little out of my price range and liked the feel of the Versa more.

Well, thanks to the MGS newsletter, I'm now impatiently waiting for a Shot Scope Pro L2 Rangefinder.  Glad I jumped on that deal quickly after receiving the update this morning that the L2 is sold out!

I recently bought a hybrid, been looking to upgrade my whole set of clubs little by little.  As I got more educated on the new technology being used in clubs I had to upgrade some things.  Believe it or not I have been using an "Alien" Hybrid from our local sports store since 2009.  I finally bought a Cobra radspeed hybrid and immediately noticed the quality and playability between the two.

A new Play It Again Sports is opening up near me and they are aggressively trying to by new inventory. Got them to give me a more than fair amount for some stuff and took that money to Callaway Preowned for this!

I can typically get new clubs for the price of used or cheaper with my golf industry hookups but Callaway Preowned has a big sale and with the 30% off this was a no brainer. Haven't gotten along with anything from Callaway in years but this thing is easy to hit and was fitting my distance needs perfectly.

Finally got an upgrade on my irons. Been in the same set for years and something happened to my clubs over the winter. Guessing something probably dropped off a high shelf onto them when they were in the shed. Broken driver, 3w and 7i all within 1 range session and 9 holes. Woods were both still under warranty but irons needed to be replaced. They’ve served their life for me anyways so wasn’t upset about having to replace them. 
 

Ended up finding a deal on a lightly used set of Mizuno MP-18 SC 4-PW - not an easy feat to find a good price for left handed players irons even in Canada, can’t imagine how hard it must be for you lefty’s down in the states. 
 

Long been a Mizuno fan so I’m happy to finally have a set of them myself.

Well unfortunately for me, my club had a Callaway demo day last week.  Showed up just to hit the new Paradym driver and walked away purchasing the Triple Diamond version. 

Had just purchased the Rogue ST LS a couple months ago. Will be looking to sell it now. I did pick up about 8-10 yards consistently with the Paradym TD.

So jealous! I've been salivating over the performance and aesthetics of the Paradigm since it's release. My good friend @TylorJudd recently got a screaming deal on one and he also benefited from at least the yardage increase you've experienced. Happy for your new purchase!

I just ordered the replacement for my Mack Daddy CB sand wedge. After much research I went with an Edison 2.0 55 degree wedge.

I got the P790s which I believe I mentioned here. 

However in addition I also got some club building stuff for me to swap out those shafts (graphite regs). 

The replacements are some Project X Rifle 5.5 which have now been changed out and regripped. 

Then I also won a bid on a new cobra putter! Which again the intent is to swap out putter shaft as well. 

Lots going on and I will have threads, posts and photos hopefully Thursday!

Congrats on the upcoming baby, I to went with the forum bag (Fern) outside of that I got the stack system a few weeks ago so I'm in my first training block now.(shoutout to @GolfSpy BOSfor convincing me with a referral code). 

We just had our 3rd child at the end of March so we're officially out numbered but my two oldest 6 and 4 have picked up the game and it's a perfect excuse to let mom and the baby nap.

Oops, I did it again. This looks to be the final club purchase of the year. I just ordered a PXG 0311 XF Gen 5 3 wood with a Mitsubishi Tensei AV Blue Raw shaft. I was looking for a bit more forgiveness in a 3 wood and the PXG pricing was just too good.

So is it technically a purchase if I get a new club out of a warranty? Regardless though sent in my LTDx LS I have had for less than a month for a cracked face and just got an email saying they are sending out an AeroJet LS to replace it. Only bought my LTDx for $200 so I suppose that means I just got a $359 upgrade I suppose.

Wanted to grab a new 60 degree wedge and found this wilson staff model new head only for $30 on ebay. Just popped the head on my the DG spinner shaft I had on my old wedge. Probably the softest feeling wedge and love the looks and playability. Only thing I noticed is a little less spin and checking on the green than the callaway, Honma and maltby max wedges Ive used recntly. Confirmed on the track man. still getting 9000+ on full swings, but I was more near 10,000 with the other wedges.

However, the feeling of these wedges is so smooth and soft, Ive become a big fan of these wedges and ordered a like new 54 from callaway preowed for $55 to match.

Well a few weeks ago I went full taylormade stealth 2 woods. New driver , 3 wood, and 5. Also bought the groove it brush last week. The taylormade fitting was too good to pass up especially knowing I wanted to re do the top of my bag

Not sure if you've seen the 2023 MW blade putter results (https://mygolfspy.com/buyers-guides/blade-putters/best-blade-putters-2023/) but something that I noticed which I don't recall typically happening - this placed in top 5 all 3 categories, 5 feet (4th) /10 feet (3rd) / 20 feet (1st by a mile!).
Looking through the past MW blade reviews that rarely happens, if ever... sooooo, I had to check it out.

Went to PGA SS tonight and they had 1 (!) with a UST shaft - the #4 (boo) - but the only difference between the 4 and 1 is 10g in headweight; they had the #1 in steel.
Don't know what it is about that shaft but it is *legit*... Saw that Amazon had them for 20 off and jumped all over it.

If you get a chance and they have em in stock you should roll one of these puppies.
I've tried the first iteration of Odyssey stroke lab shafts and the new red one and this is different. It's hard to explain but the combination of head and shaft is very well done.

Cleveland just keeps making fantastic putters and nobody really notices; I went over to Golf Galaxy hoping they would have a #1 with UST and they didn't even have any in stock. Tons of Odyssey and Ping, etc.

My Cleveland Frontier Elite Elevado came in the mail yesterday . and I went over 2 hours away to find a decent selection to try and gave myself no budget. Tired of throwing money at putters trying to save a few bucks, thought I had found the one with a Scotty Phantom 12 which was rolling way better than the rest including Bettinardi, Odyssey, Evnroll, etc. and made my way around the putter corral and ended at the Clevelands and the Elite beat out the Scotty . The irony is the Scotty was their demo and mint and would have been only 30$ more lol. Edit, would have bought it there but they only had 35 inch in stock.
