I was bored today; raining and windy so I couldn't play golf, so I went to the golf store.   In my head I keep thinking I need to switch to a mallet putter so this was a good time to "test" the theory.   Didn't have any of my putters but I tried lots of varieties and came to the conclusion that any putting issues are stroke related and not putter related.  Putter is off the list of being thought about.  Guess I have to figure some other piece of equipment to add to the ponder list....is it bad that I am happy with my equipment?    Probably need to go back to my lesson thread and ponder some more lessons.

Had planned to head to the golf store yesterday or today to test some hybrids and 7ws, but threw out my back Thursday morning so now I am just thinking about swinging anything once I am able to.  

I did find an old TaylorMade System 2 driver at Goodwill for $3, so I might take that to the range once I heal up just for fun.

Thinking about grabbing the 2 dozen Vice pro deal that Sam’s club has right now for $50. From what I can tell they seem just a little higher spin than the Pro V1 which make me hesitant.

Have no confidence in my current fairway wood (Titleist 913F that was a hand me down), so eyeing the best option there. 

Current irons are good, but were fit before I improved my game so I’m a bit worried I’ve already grown “past” those.

Balls. Golf balls specifically and Vice in particular. Having used a mix of Pro/Tour/Drive the past week I'm leaning on Vice Tour as the best fit for me. 

I have a bunch of Vice Pro Plus to try starting tomorrow, bringing 6 fresh ones out and using them until I lose them. That should give me an idea if they top the Vice Tour in my mind.

I have my customized order figured out if indeed the Tour ends up being the pick.

I keep staring down a Mizuno Pro 225 4 iron and a Ping G425 hybrid. I am not sure if I’m ready to move away from the 4 iron yet. I’ve also been watching for a Seemore Mallet type of putter. I love my FGP, but would love to try the mallet. Anyone have any recent change success stories from blade to mallet?

I’ve been looking at the Garmin s62 approach, arccos , or shot scope x5. Currently using 18 birdies love having the yardage on my wrist but want something that will track shots and distance. ... Maybe you don't have to choose? I have both in my bag because it works for my gapping. My Sim2 Max 4hy has a longer shaft and is about 10-15yds longer than my MIM Tour 4 iron.

I'm a fan of ShotScope and recently took their upgrade offer for the X5.

FYI there are two User Group threads for Arccos and ShotScope under Equipment > Tech you can find out more about those two. Cannot speak to the Garmin but, also FYI, there was a post somewhere in these forums from an S60 or S62 user who was not happy with the shot tracking functions and was looking to switch...

Same thing for me, but it is with the 5-hybrid and 5-iron, where the 5-hybrid creates 12-15 more yards of carry than the 5-iron.

Same, 5H carries 20 yards further than 6i on a clean strike. I was carrying 13 and playing around with a chipper. When I ditched the chipper figured I'd add a 14th club to play around with and the 5i was the logical choice.

Another wedge would have been the other option, but I'm happy with how I'm playing my 52-56°

I demoed the new Cobra King CB irons.  I thought they were going to have a lot less offset than what I saw.  Super chunky and more offset than I like…. So honestly I have been eying up those Arias Zero Offset irons again…. Unless Titleist wants to ship me one of JT’s customs I’m all out of luck, except the Arias.

2moro the sub70 699 6-PW arrives "supposebly" as my friend who was born in Eastern Europe and doesn't know that isn't a word, still, bc we laughed and didn't tell him, says.

If it outplays my call. Apex '19 6-AW this will put 5 clubs in, 6 out.

I have 4 thoughts, ranked in order of cost/usefulness combination I thought about for a bit. The obvious one I left out is "buy nothing and play with 13" but I left that out bc I am a club ho.

1) 48° wedge or 50° bent to 48.5 to play between 699 PW and vokey 52°

2) go back to experimenting with Odyssey chipper 37° marxman X-Act 

3) a 3w, preferably 14.5° adjustable to 13 or lower to play between Dr/4w. This would be higher but I'm happy with the top of my bag. A TS2 3w to match driver would be for glamor shots pretty much. I had an Epic Speed in hand today MCA c6 shaft. If it was $40 less I'd have bought it.

4) 58 or 60° lobbed to play with my 52-56°. I don't want to get any other wedges until I play the 699 set a bunch and see if I can gap 45-52-56°

#1 is more of a hunch than a leaning until I play the iron sets against one another.

As the season is getting set to begin next, I’m looking at new wedges. Ping Glide wedges are currently on my radar.

Have you changed your lie angles on the hybrids or are you just playing them stock?

... I only have the one 22* hybrid and I am using the stock lie.
